Neo Rauch - Galerie EIGEN+ART

Neo Rauch’s contribution to contemporary European painting is regarded as one of
the most interesting at present. However, his committed art and the depth of his
message had not reached a wide audience in this country before, since CAC Málaga
is the first Spanish centre to put on a solo exhibition of his work.
Rauch’s painting surprises us with its forms, its colours and the subjects chosen.
The figuration, set in a space halfway between reality and dream, tells stories that
seem vaguely familiar, despite the initial strangeness we might feel when faced with
such an unusual body of work.
And so we are looking at the work of an outstanding artist, the kind of personality
we feel to be unique, and we are sure his fame will last well into the future.
Lastly, I would like to thank Fundación Altadis, Unicasa, H.C.P & Arquitectos
Asociados and Copicentro for their help in putting on this magnificent exhibition,
and emphasise the involvement of those organisations in bringing to the public the
work of someone who is already one of the great figures of contemporary art.
