DESCRIPCIÓN<br />
Árbol mediano, copa abierta. Corteza persistente, escamosa, caduca en ramas finas en<br />
fajas. Primeras hojas opuestas, las adultas de 9-18 cm de largo x 1,5-4 cm de ancho, alternas,<br />
algo falcadas, ápice acuminado, base cuneada. Flores 7 agrupadas en inflorescencias<br />
simples, axilares. Pedúnculos 1-1,5 cm de largo, aplanados, angulosos. Opérculo cónico a<br />
cónico-rostrado, más largo que el hipanto. Frutos de 0,8-1 cm x 0,7-1 cm, hemisféricos a<br />
campanulados. Valvas 4, muy exsertas.<br />
