fotografia documental on hi participaran més
fotografia documental arribi a molts altres canals.
The printed press isn’t the main showcase for
documentary photography anymore. Gradually,
these outlets have been reconverted and are slaves
to private companies and their paid advertisements.
As a result, documentary photography has sought
out other distribution channels, and it has evolved
along with its new tools.
Circuit 2013 will be held during the months of
June and July in Barcelona. It is an event dedicated
to documentary photography, held in more than
30 gallery spaces, some of which are in the process
of transformation, since they hadn’t ever exhibited
documentary photography on their walls before. It’s
an event that will allow (a priori) for the stories and
realities displayed to reach the most people possible.
But what happens to an exhibit that isn’t viewed?
And what happens when these exhibits are always
viewed by the same group of people? How can these
works be seen beyond this closed circuit?
Here at PIEL de FOTO we believe in the idea
of surpassing the barriers that are often imposed
by the market itself. Today, more than ever, it’s
possible to experiment with different distribution
channels, try new formulas and make the most of
the media that is at our disposal.
In any event, the importance doesn’t lie in the
exhibition of works, nor in their acquisition, and not
even in the repercussion in the media or in how many
compliments can be received as a result of displaying
them. The value lies in the stories becoming known.
We welcome all the efforts that, driven by a passion
for this art, allow for documentary photography to
reach out through many other channels.
Adolescents immersos en el món dels adults.
Gone are the days when their biggest worry was
knowing what the weekend plan was or if they
adolescents mixed up in the adult world. Many
people are of the opinion that being mothers at
this age has brought them more joy than hardship.
Others, however, qualify the task of being a mother
as a difficult path. These are various stories backed
with worrisome statistics: the United Kingdom is
home to the highest adolescent pregnancy rate in
Western Europe.

Sembla arquitectura
soviètica o de l’època franquista. És un
lloc on la gent viu desitjant sortir d’allí. Ell és una
ombra. No té possibilitats de millora social. El seu
futur està tancat, quadriculat i de formigó.
diverses realitats.
Premio Canon (2010).
Terra Project Photographers was born in Italy in 2006.
Since it was founded as a collective, the group has
developed multiple local and international works,
involving the documentation of their own reality
and, also, going beyond the Italian borders to provide
a voice for the global themes they find most relevant.
This collective acts as a platform for common
works, but also serves as a creative tool and a starting
point for the creation of photographic reports
for all of its members.
The focus of their work is exceptional because
it has a stylistic unity fleshed out in the reports,
a paused view that reflects the context which surrounds
them and a human vision of the facts and
diverse realities. At the head of the project we can
find the photographers Michele Borzoni, Simone
Donati, Pietro Paolini and Rocco Rorandelli; Anna
Luzzolini coordinates the collective. International
magazines such as Der Spiegel, Financial Times
Magazine, GEO, Paris Match and Vanity Fair have
praised their work. The quality of their photographic
reports is also reflected by their winning of
prizes such as the World Press Photo award (2010
and 2012) and the Canon Prize (2010).
explicar tanto historias, sentimientos… cosas
desaparecer, incluidos nosotros mismos. Mi
y comenzamos a vislumbrar
