A) MATERIAL NECESARIO:B) TÉCNICA‣ Suero fisiológico‣ Jeringa y aguja estéril‣ Torundas con medio de transporte Stuart‣ Lavar cuidadosamente la superficie de la herida‣ Recoger el pus mediante jeringa y aguja, aspirando preferentemente de zonasprofundas, después depositar en el medio de transporte Stuart.‣ Cuando la muestra sea insuficiente, instilar suero fisiológico y aspirarlonuevamente con la jeringa‣ Cuando los procedimientos anteriores no sean factibles podrá efectuarse un frotisde las partes profundas de la herida con una torundaC) NÚMERO DE MUESTRAS Y/O VOLUMENPara muestras líquidas se intentará obtener entre 1 – 10 ml. En el resto de lasocasiones la máxima cantidad posibleD) TRANSPORTE Y CONSERVACIÓNEl envío al laboratorio debe ser lo más rápido posible.
