Homer, el poeta griego
Homer es un poeta que nace circa 900 b.c. (novecientos años antes de Jesús Cristo). Homer
vive en Grecia (nadie sabe exactamente en qué ciudad, pero probablemente es en Chios o
Smyrna). Él escribe dos grandes poemas épicos de la historia griega: El Iliad (el cuento de la
guerra Trojan) y La Odisea (sobre los viajes de Odiseas). La vida de Homer es un misterio.
Unos esco lares creen que él nunca existe y que sus historias en realidad son las historias de
muchas personas durante varios siglos. Casi todas las personas que estudian y escriben de
Homer creen que es ciego (que no puede ver nada).
El Iliad tiene veinticuatro libros y nos dice de la ira de Achilles y sus consecuencias
trágicas. Achilles disputa con Agamemnon sobre la posesión de la mujer cautiva Briseis.
