This tour offers the opportunity to combine several outdoor adv<strong>en</strong>ture activities , including hiking, rappelling,<br />
swimming and camping, all in one of the most beautiful and impressive geological formations in C<strong>en</strong>tral America:<br />
The Somoto Canyon.<br />
Day 1: Hiking and rappel in the Canyon<br />
In the morning we will travel to Estelí,<br />
where we will make a tour in one of the<br />
famous cigar factories. There you will see<br />
the process of making high quality export<br />
cigars. After lunch we continue to Somoto<br />
where the adv<strong>en</strong>ture begins by walking<br />
through areas of dry forest and op<strong>en</strong> fields<br />
with stunning sc<strong>en</strong>ery. Once in the canyon<br />
we will rappel with expert guides,<br />
desc<strong>en</strong>ding from the top of a stone wall<br />
over 30 meters high.<br />
We <strong>en</strong>d the day by setting up the camp<br />
where we will sp<strong>en</strong>d the night.<br />
Day 2: Experi<strong>en</strong>ce the adv<strong>en</strong>turous<br />
Somoto Canyon<br />
The second day we will <strong>en</strong>joy the Canyon of<br />
Somoto in the best way: Walking through<br />
the stones in the river and swimming in the<br />
warm waters of the Coco River. By lying in<br />
the water you can fully <strong>en</strong>joy the beauty of<br />
the 100 meter high stone walls that are<br />
surrounding you. You can jump from a<br />
waterfall and finally we will be leaving the<br />
canyon in a rowboat.<br />
After the adv<strong>en</strong>ture, we will return to<br />
Somoto to have lunch and visit a factory of<br />
Rosquillas Somoteñas. Here you will learn<br />
the creation process of these traditional<br />
corn cookies which are famous throughout<br />
C<strong>en</strong>tral America. Of course you will have a<br />
chance to taste!<br />
After lunch we will return to Matagalpa,<br />
where the tour <strong>en</strong>ds<br />
