SMALL RAIN LIES by <strong>Juan</strong> <strong>Carlos</strong> <strong>Mestre</strong><br />
<strong>Juan</strong> <strong>Carlos</strong> <strong>Mestre</strong> was born in Villafranca del Bierzo (León)<br />
1957 and graduated in Information Sciences at the<br />
University of Barcelona. In 1982 he received the Adonais<br />
Poetry Prize for his first book of poems "Antífona del otoño en<br />
el valle del Bierzo". He settled in Chile during Pinochet's<br />
dictatorship, and joined the NGO Amnesty International. He<br />
has received several awards for his books of poems, including<br />
the "Jaime Gil de Biedma" for his book "La poesía ha caído<br />
