Es de destacar que el área sirve de sitio de reproducción y<br />
crecimiento inicial de ballenas jorobadas, orcas y<br />
Cachalotes, e igualmente en sus playas arenosas desovan<br />
las tortugas marinas en peligro de extinción. Las aves<br />
constituyen el grupo más biodiverso registrándose para el<br />
área alrededor de 270 especies, algunas amenazadas de<br />
extinción local, sobresalen el Águila Arpía, la guacamaya<br />
verde y el Pavón o Paujil. Dentro del grupo de mamíferos<br />
se destacan la presencia de especies consideradas en bajo<br />
riesgo de extinción:<br />

Tigre o Jaguar<br />
Nutría<br />
Mico de Noche, Mico Araña y Aullador Negro<br />
En peligro de extinción local: Danta, Puerco de Monte,<br />
Zorro y Perezoso<br />
It is noteworthy that the area serves as a breeding site and<br />
initial growth of humpback whales, killer whales and<br />
Cachalotes, and also on their sandy beaches spawn sea<br />
turtles in danger of extinction. The birds are the most<br />
biodiverse group registering around 270 species, some<br />
threatened with local extinction, the Arpía Eagle, the green<br />
macaw and the Pavón or Paujil stand out. Within the group<br />
of mammals the presence of species considered in low risk<br />
of extinction stand out:<br />

• Mico de Noche, Mico Araña and Howler Black<br />
