A. Students and Setting:
Young adults; university students with high intermediate proficiency (B1+ to B2). All of the
students are Mexican and their principal reason to study English is to improve in their careers.
There are 7 students in the class. In this level, students are not allowed to speak Spanish. They
are in Module10 of 12 modules. This is a public language center at a university. The students
attend class two hours a day from Monday to Friday. The schedule is from 7:00 to 9:00 a.m.
B. Background:
The title of the unit is “Dealing with adversity. Since the topics are challenging experiences, and
people we admire because of their bravery when dealing with problems, we decided the podcast
to be about resilience.
C. Learning Objectives/Expected Results:
Students will work in three teams. They are going to create a podcast in which they are analyzing
what resilience is. They are going to evaluate examples of people who are resilient and they are
going to understand and create tips for people to be resilient.
The podcast is going to be divided in three episodes.
1. Introduction and concepts.
2. Examples and interviews
3. Conclusion and tips.
Every episode is going to last from three to four minutes.
The slogan is: “Thinking Positive Means Power.”

How can we learn to be resilient?
E. Procedure
The podcast must be recorded in video; Four minutes maximum. Two or three voices by
episode. Two reports and one interview.
The podcast will be uploaded in youtube.
