In such uncertain
times, I’ve managed to
find solace in the close
exploration of cactus
plants I have access to.
Studying these hardy
specimens adapted for
some of this nation’s
most challenging
environments has
broadened my awareness
of and gratitude for the
privileges I enjoy living
amidst the famously
moderate atmospheric
climate in San Francisco.

and multiple seedlings.
Main stem is exposed
giving plant a high
profile appearance.
Tag indicates Mexico
collection. Two or three
layers of tubercles.
