Family in pandemic
At first the news was a bit confusing and later at home it was exasperating because
we had one son studying in another province. There was a time when one couldn’t
send him money or pay the rent because of all this. He didn’t know anyone there
and he ended up without food because he had nothing and we weren’t able to
help him until the permits were available in order to be able to travel from one
province to another. At the beginning I couldn’t get a permit because there were
very few until finally I could get one.
The worst part was when I lost my job I had less money to make a living. Nevertheless
that helped me focus on my studies because there was plenty of time to do so. It
was tough when my family members started to get infected with coronavirus. One of
my children had to stay in a hotel and it was New Year’s eve. We weren’t able to
spend the night together and we needed to toast by the phone. This disease marked
us forever because we also had relatives who passed away
