Master Planning
At the earliest stage of a project, M Atelier offers services in Master Planning alongside
other consultants in determining required areas necessary for the hotel star level and
the flow of services both front of house and back of house. These services include connections
between interior and exterior for both new build and refurbishment properties.
Concept Design
Based on the needs and standards of the Operator / Owner and considering local, cultural,
geographic & climatic conditions, M Atelier develops a robust aesthetic and poetic narrative
uniquely tailored to each project. Communicated through rendered visuals in Planning,
Elevations, Hand Sketch 3D Visuals and Details, Photorealistic Digital 3D Visuals and
supporting Imagery in Architecture, Furniture, Materials to clearly present the intended
mood and design.
Interior Architectural Design
Coordinating with necessary services in Architecture, Structural Design, MEP Services,
BOH / Equipment Design, IT Design, Security Strategy, FLS Design, Landscape Architecture,
AV Design, Pool & Spa Specialisation & Acoustic Design, M Atelier is positioned
to lead all disciplines in achieving an overall project benchmark to align with the Owner
/ Operators revenue forecasts. M Atelier are significantly connected in this specialised
sector to put forward proven and trusted consultants to our clients for consideration in
the building of their project team.

Interior Design
With our highly skilled and experienced luxury design
specialist in-house teams, M Atelier delivers full
packages of Schematic Design, Detail Design, Tender
& Construction that include but are not limited to
ID Architectural Plans & Elevations; ID Detailing for
Architecture & Millwork; ID Scheduling for Fixtures
& Equipment; ID Specifications for Materials &
Furniture. Coordinating with appointed Project
Management, QS and Procurement Specialist, we
collaborate to deliver the design to completion stage
at the highest level possible.
Food & Beverage Design
A Sub-Specialisation in the luxury design sector, M
Atelier has the experience and exposure to fully realise
the needs of stand-alone or in-hotel incorporated
F&B outlets from aesthetic, to F&B concept, menu,
branding identity, operational needs, equipment
design and more. Delivering benchmark flagship
outlets being our specialty.

Lighting Design
A most significant factor in delivering well-considered
luxury spaces, interior and exterior lighting design,
calculation, documentation & specifications services
under M Atelier are highly recommended. Inadequate
and ill-considered lighting can sabotage a beautiful
design so it should run very closely alongside the
Interior Architectural Design of any project.
Art Consulting

With a proven record in 5-star hospitality new builds & refurbishments, her projects -
much like her personal style - are a combination of contemporary and traditional that
understands the guest experience from a first-hand perspective.
Working within the parameters of brand standards and identity, she brings unique design
sensibilities to a project with a personable and professional service.
Of Maltese decent, Liza has lived around the world designing for major brands including
Hilton, Shangri-La and Intercontinental with projects located across Europe, Asia , Africa
and Australia. This gives M Atelier access to some of the strongest skills in the luxury
design sector from concept through to completion.
Jet-setting around the globe, passion for architecture & art has been the major influence
on innovation. Liza and M Atelier’s team international experience & perspective inspire a
diverse selection of influences that are utilized for projects of any style, promising cutting
edge solutions and out-standing interior experiences.

Darren Sharland
MANAGING DIRECTOR
Darren Sharland’s 20 year global interior
architectural design career began from a
technical documentation base evolving quickly
to conceptual design and design management
specialisation for luxury hospitality and
Food & Beverage. Developing his design and
management skills within some of the worlds
leading luxury hospitality practices - GA Design,
Chada, and HBA - Darren utilises well developed
hand sketching abilities to conceptualise and
study his vision before implementing robust
highly effective design processes in moving his
concepts through to thorough documentation.
Darren’s versatility is evident in his classical
and contemporary luxury hotel design portfolio
where detail and consideration of services is of
the essence.

Tania Guerreiro
FF&E DIRECTOR
Originating out of Lisbon, Portugal, Tania
moved to Dubai in the late 80’s where she
watched first-hand a small untouched city
rapidly expanding into one of the biggest and
most attractive metropolises in the world.
For the past 20 years, Tania has worked
and managed numerous 5-Star Hotels and
F&B projects, as well as high-end residential
developments. Joining M Atelier after Godwin
Austen Johnson, Wilson Associates, Broadway
Interiors and more, she has developed an
approach to design particularly tailored to
delivering unexpected originality. Striving to
communicate the meaningful message of
connectivity, innovation, creativity and beauty
through her design language.

Jonathan Olvera
PROJECT DESIGN MANAGER
Joanne M
TECHNICAL PRO
Architect and Interior Designer, Jonathan has experience through
America, Europe, and Middle East, working in the interior design,
lighting design, project management, on-site coordination,
refurbishment & industrial design. After 5 years in Doha, Qatar,
where he began working in high-end hospitality implementation
projects, Jonathan moved to Madrid, Spain, continuing his work
on luxury hotels and upscale shopping mall projects in Russia
and Europe. With an excellent knowledge of architectural design
principles, architectural anthropometry, international design
standards and construction, Jonathan is passionate about
sustainability, renewable energy, materiality, design detail and
advanced construction solutions.
