de Shaquille O’Neal será retirado
el 13 de febrero por el
Magic de Orlando, que se convertirá
en la tercera franquicia
de la NBA en rendir este homenaje
al jugador, cuatro veces

O`Neal será el primer jugador
cuyo jersey sea retirado
por el Magic, donde usó el
número 32. Los Lakers de Los
Ángeles retiraron el número
34 en abril de 2013 y el Heat

La historia de Ferives
Creations es una de amistad,
determinación y giros
del destino notables. Todo
comienza con Fernando
Zapata, originario de Dorado,
Puerto Rico, quien decidió
mudarse a los Estados
Unidos en el 2001 en busca
de mejores oportunidades.
Pero lo que no sabía era que
su camino eventualmente se
cruzaría con el de Wanda Ortiz,

El viaje de Fernando
Zapata desde Puerto Rico
hasta Melbourne, Florida,
fue transformador. En busca
de un futuro más brillante,
tomó la valiente decisión de

en el 2001, Fernando
asumió una serie de trabajos,
desde limpiar piscinas hasta
trabajar en Walmart.

ORLANDO — Shaquille O`-
Neal`s number will be retired Feb.
13 by the Orlando Magic, who will
become the third NBA franchise
to give that tribute to the four-time
champion and Basketball Hall of
Famer.
O`Neal will be the first player
to get a jersey number __ he
wore No. 32 in Orlando __ retired
by the Magic. The Los Angeles
Lakers retired his No. 34 jersey in
April 2013, and the Miami Heat retired
his No. 32 jersey in December
2016. O`Neal won three titles
with the Lakers, and another with
the Heat.
“When someone asks who
was the first player to officially put
the Orlando Magic on the map,
the answer is simple __ Shaquille
O’Neal,” Orlando Magic CEO Alex
Martins said. “He took this franchise
to new heights, both on and off
the court, and his legacy is still felt
within our organization today. On
behalf of the DeVos family, we are
excited to honor Shaquille by raising

Wanda Ivelisse De Jesús
Ortíz, originaria de Orocovis,

Sandra Rincón, originaria
de Guerrero, México,
entró en escena mucho antes
cuando conoció a Wanda
mientras trabajaban juntas
en el restaurante colombiano
La Estancia de Luisa.
Wanda comenzó como lavaplatos
y Sandra como mesera,
pasando dos años trabajando
codo a codo.
Su amistad se extendía
más allá de las paredes del
restaurante, y se mantuvieron
conectadas a lo largo de
los años. La idea de comenzar
un negocio juntas era
un tema recurrente en sus
conversaciones, pero las demandas
de la vida cotidiana
parecían siempre poner ese
sueño en espera.

que compartimos”, dice
Wanda De Jesús Ortíz. “Pero

It all begins with Fernando Zapata, originally from Dorado, Puerto Rico, who decided to move to the United
States in 2001 in search of better opportunities. Little did he know that his path would eventually cross with that
of Wanda Ortiz, laying the groundwork for the birth of Ferives Creations.
Fernando Zapata’s journey from Puerto Rico to Melbourne, Florida, was transformative. In pursuit of a brighter
future, he made the brave decision to move to the United States. Landing in Melbourne in 2001, Fernando
took on a series of jobs, from cleaning pools to working at Walmart. His journey eventually led him to the world
of Uber, where he became a driver in the platform’s early days.
However, it was through a different avenue that he would encounter Wanda Ortiz. They met while working
at Collins Aerospace, a pivotal moment that would later shape the destiny of Ferives Creations. At Collins Aerospace,
their friendship blossomed, and they discovered a shared passion for creativity and entrepreneurship.
“Wanda and I met at Collins Aerospace,” emphasizes Zapata. “We bonded over our love for crafting and
discussed our dreams of starting a business together.”
Wanda Ivelisse De Jesús Ortíz, originally from Orocovis, in the center of Puerto Rico, arrived in the United
States in 2017 due to the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. Her journey took her to Melbourne, Florida, where she
worked at Brennity at Melbourne Senior Living and later at Collins Aerospace after working four years at the
Colombian restaurant La Estancia de Luisa. Wanda’s love for crafting was deeply rooted in her upbringing, and
it was during her time at Collins Aerospace that she forged a strong connection with Zapata and they became
engaged.
“Wanda and I instantly connected,” recalls Zapata. “We shared our ideas, dreams, and realized we had a
common vision. Our friendship turned into love, and now we are engaged.”
Their friendship and love grew stronger day by day, and as they discussed their shared passion for crafting,
they could not ignore the call of entrepreneurship. It was during these conversations that the seeds of
Ferives Creations were sown.
Sandra Rincón, originally from Guerrero, Mexico, entered the scene long before when she met Wanda
while they worked together at the Colombian restaurant La Estancia de Luisa. Wanda started as a dishwasher,
and Sandra as a waitress, spending two years working side by side.
Their friendship extended beyond the restaurant’s walls, and they stayed connected over the years. The
idea of starting a business together was a recurring theme in their conversations, but the demands of everyday
life always seemed to put that dream on hold.
“It was always a dream we shared,” says Wanda De Jesús Ortíz. “But life had its own plans for us, and we
had to wait for the right moment.”
With their collective passion for crafting, creativity, and entrepreneurship, Ferives Creations was born.
The business initially focused on offering a variety of products, including personalized thermoses, keychains,
stickers, T-shirts, and resin coasters. Their specialty became creating custom-designed tumblers, thermally
insulated containers tailored to customers’ preferences.
What sets Ferives Creations apart from similar businesses is their commitment to providing high-quality
products at affordable prices. Wanda, Sandra, and Fernando take pride in offering accessible products, bridging
the gap between creativity and accessibility.
“Our goal has always been to make crafting accessible to everyone,” says Rincón. “We want people to
enjoy the creativity and customization our products offer without spending a fortune.”
The versatility of their business is evident in the range of materials they work with, including aluminum,

Zuheily realizó su educación
primaria y secundaria en Puerto
Rico, donde asistió al prestigioso
Colegio Notre Dame. Después
de graduarse de la escuela
secundaria, decidió continuar
su educación en la Universidad
de Puerto Rico, donde comenzó
su licenciatura en química.
Mientras estaba en la universidad,
Zuheily se destacó
académicamente y fue seleccionada
como una de los “100 mejores
estudiantes del año” que
ingresan a la Universidad. Esta
distinción le permitió avanzar
un año en sus estudios, lo que
la acercó aún más a su objetivo
de convertirse en farmacéutica.
Sin embargo, su camino
hacia la farmacia tuvo un giro
inesperado cuando recibió una
oportunidad en la Escuela de
Farmacia de la Universidad de
Puerto Rico antes de completar
su licenciatura en química. Aunque
le faltaba solo un semestre
para graduarse en química, Zuheily
tomó la decisión audaz de
Zuheily aceptó la oferta de
la escuela de farmacia debido
a su pasión por la atención
médica y su deseo de hacer una
diferencia en la vida de los pacientes.
Zuheily no solo completó
con éxito su programa de farmacia,
sino que también pasó
las rigurosas revalidas requeridas
para ejercer como farmacéutica
en Puerto Rico. Después
de obtener su licencia, comenzó
su carrera en el campo farmacéutico
trabajando en una cadena
de farmacias en Cabo Rojo,
Puerto Rico.
“Yo comencé desde que estaba
estudiando farmacia con
Walgreens; estuve ahí 14 años,”
dijo Zuheily.
Su experiencia en estas
cadenas de farmacias, donde
atendió a una amplia variedad
de pacientes y aprendió a lidiar
con situaciones médicas complejas,
la ayudó a desarrollar habilidades
valiosas y a forjar una
sólida base en farmacología y
atención médica. Estos años de
experiencia le proporcionaron
una visión crítica sobre cómo
mejorar la atención al paciente
y brindar un servicio de calidad.
El destino la llevó a conocer
a Luis Avilés, quien se convertiría
en su esposo y socio en
la creación de Elite Care Pharmacy.
Cuando Luis se mudó a
Florida por motivos laborales,
Zuheily también decidió dar
el paso y mudarse a Melbourne
para seguir su camino en el
campo farmacéutico.
Luis Avilés, desde su llegada
a Melbourne en marzo de 2015,
ha demostrado ser un apoyo
fundamental en la creación y
gestión de Elite Care Pharmacy.
Su historia comienza cuando
observaba a su esposa, Zuheily
Vélez, trabajar incansablemente
en diversas cadenas de farmacias
locales. Mientras ella se
esforzaba por brindar la mejor
atención posible a los pacientes,
Luis notó las limitaciones
impuestas por el entorno de
trabajo.
“Vi cómo las cadenas farmacéuticas
sobrecargaban a
los farmacéuticos y limitaban
su capacidad para brindar una
atención personalizada,” recordó
Avilés.
Esta observación no fue en
vano, ya que Avilés entendió la
importancia de crear un espacio
donde los pacientes fueran
tratados como individuos y no
solo como números en una cadena
de farmacias. Fue entonces
cuando surgió la idea de
establecer su propia farmacia,
Elite Care Pharmacy. Sin embargo,
emprender este camino
no fue sencillo, especialmente
en un entorno altamente competitivo.
Áviles comprendía los desafíos
que enfrentarían al establecer
su propia farmacia, pero
su determinación por brindar
atención médica de calidad a la
comunidad superó todas las adversidades.
“Entendíamos los desafíos
que enfrentaríamos, pero estábamos
decididos a marcar
la diferencia y ofrecer un nivel
de atención que se alejara de la
percepción de que los pacientes
eran solo números en una gran
cadena de farmacias,” expresó
Avilés.
Una de las piedras angulares
de su éxito fue la colaboración
con la franquicia The Medicine
Shoppe. A través de negociaciones
y conversaciones, Elite Care
Pharmacy se convirtió en una
realidad. Luis, aunque no era
farmacéutico, desempeñó un
papel crucial en la gestión y los
aspectos operativos de la farmacia.
Se encargó de la contabilidad,
el papeleo necesario y las
relaciones con los bancos, asegurando
que la farmacia funcionara
sin problemas desde el
punto de vista administrativo.
Sin embargo, su papel no
se limitó a la parte administrativa.
Luis también contribuyó
con las entregas a domicilio y
se convirtió en un apoyo invaluable
para su esposa, Zuheily,
quien es la farmacéutica a cargo
y la líder del negocio. Juntos,
establecieron una dinámica de
equipo eficiente que permitió
que la farmacia creciera y prosperara.
El camino hacia la apertura
de Elite Care Pharmacy no
estuvo exento de obstáculos
burocráticos y desafíos. Tuvieron
que esperar seis meses
para obtener los permisos de
construcción, durante los cuales
continuaron pagando el alquiler
de la ubicación sin poder
abrir ni generar ingresos. Sin
embargo, con determinación y
perseverancia, superaron todos
los obstáculos y finalmente lograron
abrir las puertas de su
farmacia.
Además de brindar servicios
a la comunidad local, Luis y Zuheily
también se enorgullecen
de poder atender a pacientes
con seguros médicos de Puerto
Rico, ofreciendo una solución
valiosa para quienes viajan desde
la isla o tienen familiares
en Orlando. Han establecido
sólidas conexiones y han enviado
medicamentos a través
de diversos seguros médicos de
Puerto Rico, lo que demuestra
su compromiso con la atención
médica de calidad.

Zuheily completed her primary and secondary education in Puerto Rico, attending the prestigious Colegio
Notre Dame. After graduating from high school, she decided to continue her education at the University of Puerto
Rico, where she began her bachelor’s degree in chemistry.
While in college, Zuheily excelled academically and was selected as one of the “top 100 students of the
year” entering the University. This distinction allowed her to advance a year in her studies, bringing her closer to
her goal of becoming a pharmacist.
However, her path to pharmacy took an unexpected turn when she received an opportunity at the University
of Puerto Rico School of Pharmacy before completing her bachelor’s degree in chemistry. Although she was
only one semester away from graduating in chemistry, Zuheily made the bold decision to accept the offer from
the pharmacy school due to her passion for healthcare and her desire to make a difference in patients’ lives.
Zuheily not only successfully completed her pharmacy program but also passed the rigorous licensure
exams required to practice as a pharmacist in Puerto Rico. After obtaining her license, she began her career in
the pharmaceutical field by working at a chain of pharmacies in Cabo Rojo, Puerto Rico.
“I started with Walgreens while I was studying pharmacy; I was there for 14 years,” said Zuheily.
Her experience in these pharmacy chains, where she served a wide variety of patients and learned to
handle complex medical situations, helped her develop valuable skills and build a strong foundation in pharmacology
and healthcare. These years of experience provided her with a critical insight into how to improve patient
care and provide quality service.
Fate led her to meet Luis Avilés, who would become her husband and partner in the creation of Elite Care
Pharmacy. When Luis moved to Florida for work reasons, Zuheily also decided to take the leap and move to
Melbourne to continue her career in the pharmaceutical field.
Since his arrival in Melbourne in March 2015, Luis Avilés has proven to be a fundamental support in the
creation and management of Elite Care Pharmacy. His story begins as he watched his wife, Zuheily Vélez,
tirelessly work in various local pharmacy chains. While she strove to provide the best possible care to patients,
Luis noticed the limitations imposed by the work environment.
“I saw how pharmaceutical chains overloaded pharmacists and limited their ability to provide personalized
care,” Avilés recalled.
This observation was not in vain, as Avilés understood the importance of creating a space where patients
would be treated as individuals and not just as numbers in a pharmacy chain. It was then that the idea of establishing
their own pharmacy, Elite Care Pharmacy, emerged. However, embarking on this path was not easy,
especially in a highly competitive environment.
Avilés understood the challenges they would face in establishing their own pharmacy, but their determination
to provide quality healthcare to the community surpassed all adversities.
“We understood the challenges we would face, but we were determined to make a difference and offer a
level of care that would deviate from the perception that patients were just numbers in a large pharmacy chain,”
Avilés said.
One of the cornerstones of their success was their collaboration with The Medicine Shoppe franchise.
Through negotiations and discussions, Elite Care Pharmacy became a reality. Although he was not a pharmacist,
Luis played a crucial role in the pharmacy’s management and operational aspects. He handled accounting,
necessary paperwork, and relationships with banks, ensuring that the pharmacy operated smoothly from an
administrative standpoint.
However, his role was not limited to the administrative part. Luis also contributed to home deliveries and
became an invaluable support to his wife, Zuheily, who is the pharmacist in charge and the business leader.
Together, they established an efficient team dynamic that allowed the pharmacy to grow and thrive.
The path to the opening of Elite Care Pharmacy was not without bureaucratic obstacles and challenges.
They had to wait six months to obtain construction permits, during which they continued to pay rent for the
location without being able to open or generate income. However, with determination and perseverance, they
overcame all obstacles and finally managed to open the doors of their pharmacy.
In addition to providing services to the local community, Luis and Zuheily are also proud to serve patients
with medical insurance from Puerto Rico, offering a valuable solution for those who travel from the island or
have family in Orlando. They have established strong connections and have sent medications through various
medical insurance providers in Puerto Rico, demonstrating their commitment to quality healthcare.

Moreno, una familia colombiana,

La historia de los Moreno
comenzó en Bogotá, Colombia,
donde Jaime Moreno, el
patriarca de la familia, se estableció
como contratista de
alimentos, proporcionando comidas
a instituciones, escuelas
y universidades.
“Vendíamos alimentos, desde
desayunos hasta refrigerios
y platos adicionales, que se servían
en colegios y universidades
en Bogotá”, recuerda Moreno.
“Nos especializamos en brindar
contratos de alimentos y bebidas
durante más de 25 años”.
Moreno se sumergió en su
negocio con dedicación y pasión,
convirtiéndose en un contratista
de restaurantes para
clubes, colegios y universidades.
Su empresa tenía su propia
cocina con chefs, nutricionistas,
meseros y autoservicio, lo
que garantizaba la calidad y el
servicio excepcionales.
“Fue un compromiso total”,
afirmó Moreno.
Además de su carrera exitosa,
Jaime Moreno celebró
un hito personal igualmente
importante: su matrimonio
con María Victoria Martínez,
cariñosamente conocida como
Vicky.
“Nos casamos hace 28 años
y estamos felizmente casados”,
compartió Moreno con una
sonrisa en el rostro. La unión
de Jaime y Vicky ha sido una
fuente constante de apoyo y
fortaleza a lo largo de sus vidas.
La decisión de arrancar su
vida y mudarse a Estados Unidos
no se tomó a la ligera. Moreno,
junto con su familia, obtuvo
la residencia permanente,
cortesía de su suegra, ciudadana
estadounidense. Sin embargo,
fue la promesa de mejores
oportunidades educativas para
sus hijos lo que impulsó su decisión
de reubicarse.
“En Colombia, la educación
es increíblemente costosa.
Queríamos que nuestros hijos
tuvieran acceso a un futuro más
prometedor”, explicó Moreno.
Palm Bay, Florida, se convirtió
en su nuevo hogar, elegido
estratégicamente debido
a su estabilidad y la presencia
de la suegra de Moreno, quien
se había establecido en la zona
años antes.
“Sabíamos que Palm Bay
era el lugar adecuado para nosotros
para proporcionar una
vida mejor para nuestros hijos”,
reflexionó Moreno.
La transición no estuvo
exenta de desafíos. Jaime Moreno
encontró trabajo en el
Hilton Rialto, realizando tareas
muy diferentes a su carrera anterior
en Colombia.
“Fue un cambio significativo,
pero estaba decidido a
darles a mis hijos las oportunidades
que merecían”, dijo
Moreno, recordando aquellos
primeros días.
Fue durante este período
que la resiliencia y la adaptabilidad
de Moreno salieron a la
luz. Abrazó la idea de que el éxito
en Estados Unidos a menudo
requiere abrazar el cambio y
adaptarse al mercado laboral en
evolución. Este cambio mental
impulsó su deseo de explorar
nuevas oportunidades.

un negocio de transporte operado
en colaboración con su esposa,
Vicky.
“Vi la necesidad de servicios
de transporte, especialmente
para migrantes y la comunidad

forma de contribuir a nuestra
comunidad”, comenta sobre su

una maestría en Administración
de Empresas (MBA) en la
misma universidad.
“Felipe comparte mi creencia
de que la felicidad es más
que el dinero”, expresó Moreno.

dream, leave their home countries behind in search of a brighter future. Among these stories, the Moreno
family, a Colombian family, stands as a powerful testament to resilience and success in the quest for a better
life for their children.
The Moreno family’s story began in Bogotá, Colombia, where Jaime Moreno, the patriarch of the family,
established himself as a food contractor, providing meals to institutions, schools, and universities.
“We sold food, from breakfast to snacks and additional dishes, which were served in schools and universities
in Bogotá,” Moreno recalls. “We specialized in providing food and beverage contracts for over 25 years.”
Moreno immersed himself in his business with dedication and passion, becoming a restaurant contractor
for clubs, schools, and universities. His company had its own kitchen with chefs, nutritionists, waitstaff, and
self-service, ensuring exceptional quality and service.
“It was a total commitment,” Moreno stated.
In addition to his successful career, Jaime Moreno celebrated an equally important personal milestone: his
marriage to María Victoria Martínez, affectionately known as Vicky.
“We got married 28 years ago, and we are happily married,” Moreno shared with a smile. Jaime and Vicky’s
union has been a constant source of support and strength throughout their lives.
The decision to uproot their lives and move to the United States was not taken lightly. Moreno, along with
his family, obtained permanent residency, courtesy of his American citizen mother-in-law. However, it was the
promise of better educational opportunities for their children that drove their decision to relocate.
“In Colombia, education is incredibly expensive. We wanted our children to have access to a more promising
future,” Moreno explained.
Palm Bay, Florida, became their new home, strategically chosen for its stability and the presence of Moreno’s
mother-in-law, who had settled in the area years earlier.
“We knew that Palm Bay was the right place for us to provide a better life for our children,” Moreno reflected.
The transition was not without its challenges. Jaime Moreno found work at the Hilton Rialto, performing
tasks very different from his previous career in Colombia.
“It was a significant change, but I was determined to give my children the opportunities they deserved,”
Moreno said, recalling those early days.
It was during this period that Moreno’s resilience and adaptability came to the forefront. He embraced the
idea that success in the United States often requires embracing change and adapting to the evolving job market.
This mindset shift fueled his desire to explore new opportunities.
Jaime Moreno’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to establish Transport Transporte, a transportation business
operated in collaboration with his wife, Vicky.
“I saw the need for transportation services, especially for migrants and the Hispanic community. Providing
reliable transportation was my way of contributing to our community,” he commented on his business.
What makes the Moreno family’s journey even more remarkable is their deep connection to the local Hispanic
community. The support of the Brevard Hispanic Center played a crucial role in Moreno’s integration into
the community. The Center not only provided guidance and support but also directed clients to Moreno’s thriving
business, significantly contributing to its growth.
“Javier [president of the Brevard Hispanic Center] focused me, guided me, and also started sending clients
my way. It wasn’t just favors; it was also financial assistance,” Moreno expressed.
Jaime Moreno’s entrepreneurial journey is a testament to his vision and unwavering dedication. Over
the course of eight years, Transport Transporte has steadily expanded its services, from newspaper delivery to
passenger transportation. Moreno’s commitment to excellence and exceptional service has been instrumental in
retaining customers in an increasingly competitive market.
“Quality and service are essential in our business. It’s what keeps our customers coming back,” he affirmed.
The successes of the Moreno family’s children are a reflection of the dedication and values instilled by
their parents. Manuel, the eldest son, graduated in business from the University of Central Florida (UCF) and

Many people set goals that will help to improve their physical appearance. To help your promising leaders start
a new year with a new attitude, help them work on impro-ving the quality of their character. Advise them the

1. Capitalize on the strengths and gifts you already have. Spend more time sharing your talents and less
time wishing you were more like someone else´s.
2. Forgive others and yourself. Spending time on yesterday’s issues can really keep you from moving
forward. Practice letting go, forgive those who have hurt you, and forgive your own poor choices. Just don’t
place yourself in a position to repeat these hurtful moments.
3. Listen with a compassionate and caring heart. You will be amazed at how much you can learn from others
when you truly listen for their thoughts, their ideas, and their feelings without judgment.
4. Collaborate with others to create and problem solve. One person can do great things; a co-llective group
of people, with a like focus, can do the unimaginable. Believe in the power of teamwork.
5. Celebrate each day as an opportunity for a new beginning. Don’t focus on the regrets of yes-terday or on
the wants for tomorrow. Enjoy the present moment and live it to the fullest.

Restaurant combats false Asian
stereotype of dog-eating
FRESNO, Calif. (AP) — David Rasavong’s cultural pride is evident all throughout his restaurant.
It’s on the wall of family portraits and where a stunning mural depicts his family’s journey from Laos to
California. It’s on the menu filled with Lao and Thai dishes like the crispy coconut rice salad of Nam Khao and
the stir-fried rice noodles of Pad See Ew.
And it’s in the fact that Love & Thai in Fresno, California, restaurant is open at all. A baseless accusation
grounded in a racist stereotype about Asian food using dog meat brought a six-month barrage of harassment so
heated that Rasavong, 41, closed down its previous location over fears for his family’s safety.
His earlier restaurant had itself only been open for seven months when a so- called animal welfare crusader
in May implied on social media that a pitbull tied up at an unconnected home next door was going to be
served on the menu.
A day after the initial commentary, vitriolic statements, voicemails and calls rained down. Rasavong’s body
still tenses up when recounting, in particular, a call from an elderly woman.
“She was so disgusted by me and yelling and screaming, and the only thing I can remember hearing her
say at the end was ‘Go back to the country you came from you dog-eating mother-effer,’” Rasavong recently
told The Associated Press.
Within days, he closed that restaurant because it no longer felt safe between the harassment and people
loitering in the parking lot outside of business hours.
The false accusation tapped into a longstanding slur against Asian cuisines and cultures that has persisted
in the U.S. for over 150 years, dating back to the xenophobia that grew in the U.S. after Chinese immigrants
started arriving in more visible numbers in the 1800s and other Asian communities followed. It’s also one that
Asian American communities are fighting against.
It may be astonishing to some that a claim rooted in a racist stereotype took down a family’s restaurant
three years after “Stop Asian Hate” became a rallying cry. But for many Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders,
it’s something they’ve heard before as an insult or under the guise of a “joke,” along with other negative reactions
to the actual foods of their cultures. In December, a comedian received some backlash for dressing like a UPS
delivery driver and walking into an Asian restaurant with caged puppies for a social media video.
There is hope though that more people will learn to tell truth from trope. Since the pandemic first fueled
anti-Asian hostilities, AAPI communities themselves have tried to take control of the narrative that Asian food is
“dirty,” “weird” yet “exotic.” Furthermore, the appetite to learn about food from the Asian diaspora has only grown
across traditional and new media.
Still, there were moments where Rasavong felt like nobody, even media, was on his side. He said a few
reporters approached him assuming the claims were true.
But he soon received tons of community support, and the closure ended up being a new beginning.
A shopping center property manager offered him the chance to take over a suite vacated by another restaurant.
Nkundwe P. van Wort-Kasyanju, a graphic designer in the Netherlands, and Los Angeles-based interior
designer Danny Gonzales proffered their services for free. Hana Luna Her, a local artist, painted the mural. By
the Nov. 3 grand opening of the new space, Love & Thai definitely felt the love. The place was bustling all day,
Rasavong said, and the city presented a proclamation.
Rasavong is holding onto the belief that he went through this whole saga for a reason.
“There’s a journey that we’re supposed to go on,” said Rasavong, who declined to say if he’ll pursue legal
action. “Don’t get me wrong. People need to realize this business is not easy ... But you know, we believe in
what we’re doing and so far so good.”
In actuality, consuming dog meat is something that has happened in various parts of the world for centuries,
where they weren’t seen as domesticated family pets, said Robert Ku, author of “Dubious Gastronomy:
The Cultural Politics of Eating Asian in the USA.” Greeks and Romans referenced it. The French also ate dog
meat during World War II.
But when Chinese immigrants came to the U.S., it was linked to them as part of “the myths that the Chinese
were these bizarre people who had bizarre diets,” Ku said. “It was one of the attractions of actually going
to Chinese restaurants back in the day because it came with ‘danger.’”
As other Asian immigrant groups came, the stereotype spread to include them.
“This is a real just blurring of the Asian identity where it doesn’t matter if you’re Thai or Korean or Vietnamese
or Cambodian. You’re all the same,” Ku said.
Along with the false allegation of eating dog meat, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders over the generations
have often faced disgust and worse from others when they’ve brought their cultures’ foods from home to
public spaces like school or work.
They’re taking steps to fight back, like in 2021, when San Francisco-Bay Area- based writers Diann
Leo-Omine. Anthony Shu and Shirley Huey self-published “Lunchbox Moments,” a compilation of over two
dozen personal essays and illustrations that raised $6,000 for charity.
The project became “a powerful thing for all of us,” Leo-Omine said.
“We tried to show it’s not always about being in relation to being American or being white or assimilated,”
she said. “You can have moments of joy, too...I hope that it opened people’s minds a little bit more __ or made
them want to try new foods.”
It’s actually been a big year in publishing and food media for Asian cuisine. Publishers Weekly dedicated
a feature in August entirely to Chinese and Taiwanese food after observing nine new cookbooks on the subjects
were coming out this year. Several of the authors grew up outside of Asia. The titles range from “Vegan Chinese
Food,” to “Kung Food” and “A Very Chinese Cookbook” from America’s Test Kitchen. Also, children’s book author
Grace Lin released “Chinese Menu,” which relays folklore behind favorite Chinese American dishes. They all
share personal anecdotes and readers often seem drawn to “personality-driven” cookbooks, said Carolyn Juris,
features editor.
“It’s not just about the recipes. It’s about the stories behind them and I think people respond to that,” Juris
said.
Like any other culture, Asian cultures encompass many different regional cuisines and nuances. With
the growing Asian diaspora, it’s not strange that so many cookbooks can be mined and “publishers are savvy
enough to know that there is a market for these books,” Juris added.
Back at Love & Thai, Rasavong is busy filling online orders for a waiting third- party delivery driver. He is
optimistic about keeping up business now that the initial hoopla around his restaurant renaissance has calmed
down. Rasavong also hopes his situation will remind others to think before they speak.
“People say these jokes and they think it’s just fun and just light-hearted,” he said. ``There are certain
things that you shouldn’t say that really do cross a line.”

mantener a El Salvador
y otras naciones en desarrollo
bajo control.
El político arremetió contra
la Comisión Interamericana de
Derechos Humanos (CIDH) e
instituciones internacionales
similares alegando que “parecieran
tener la misión de mantenernos
en el subdesarrollo”.
La CIDH pidió en abril el final
del estado de emergencia instituido
en marzo de 2022 y que
suspende los derechos fundamentales
para permitir que el
gobierno intensificara su lucha
contra las poderosas pandillas
del país.
Bukele explicó que para
transformar la realidad de El
Salvador iniciaron cambiando
las leyes, removieron jueces y
fiscales y su partido ganó la mayoría

cuando se registraron 62 homicidios
en un día, el Congreso
aprobó la declaración de estado

de asociación, suspende
el derecho de una persona a ser
informada sobre la razón de su
arresto y a solicitar la asistencia
de un abogado. Además, amplía
de 72 horas a 15 días el plazo
de detención administrativa y
permite a las autoridades intervenir
la correspondencia y los
celulares de quienes considere
sospechosos.
El Parlamento también reformó
el Código Penal para que
los integrantes de las pandillas
o maras, o de cualquier otra
organización delictiva, puedan
ser condenados a penas de entre
20 y 40 años de prisión. Los
cabecillas podrían enfrentar
sentencias de 45 a 60 años de
cárcel.
El gobierno asegura que las
medidas extraordinarias han
sido exitosas y que se capturó a
74.000 personas, de las cuales
los jueces dejaron libres a más
de 7. 000 por falta de pruebas.
Bukele se tomó una licencia
temporal el mes pasado para

SAN SALVADOR, El Salvador (AP) __ El Salvador`s Nayib Bukele took his presidential reelection campaign
beyond the tiny Central American country`s borders Wednesday, January 3, night to capitalize on his rising
profile across Latin America.
During a two-hour forum on the platform X, Bukele accused critics of his controversial policies __ including
the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights and international institutions like it __ of trying to keep El
Salvador and other developing nations down.
Bukele was granted a six-month leave from the presidency starting in December to run for reelection __
despite a constitutional ban on reelection. Congress approved the president’s selection of his private secretary
to be the country’s interim leader.
The Supreme Court, stacked with justices selected by Bukele’s allies in Congress, ruled in 2021 that
Bukele could seek a second five-year term in the Feb. 4 election.
Asked Wednesday if he would seek to change the constitution to allow his indefinite reelection, Bukele
said he would not.
In April 2023, the commission called on El Salvador to lift the state of emergency instituted in March
2022 that allowed Bukele`s administration to step up its fight against the country`s powerful gangs. The state of
emergency suspends some fundamental rights like police having to inform people of the reason for their arrest
or give them access to an attorney.
Some 74,000 people have been arrested under Bukele`s war on gangs. Judges later freed more than
7,000 of them.
Human rights groups in El Salvador and abroad have criticized Bukele for the lack of due process and
other abuses. But the resulting drop in homicides has cemented support for Bukele among a majority of Salvadorans.
Bukele has declared El Salvador the safest country in Latin America, just a few years after it was listed as
one of the world’s deadliest. Many have expressed a willingness to overlook the erosion of checks and balances
in exchange for safe neighborhoods.
His exchanges with people from a host of Latin American countries reflected how his success has resonated
beyond El Salvador`s borders, even in the face of sometimes withering criticism from the United States
and Europe.
His pushback against critics Wednesday echoed his 2023 speech before the United Nations General Assembly,
in which he said that if El Salvador had listened to his critics it would return to being the murder capital.
“Today, I come to tell you that that debate is over,” Bukele said at the U.N. “The decisions we took were
correct. We are no longer the world death capital and we achieved it in record time. Today we are a model of
security and no one can doubt it. There are the results. They are irrefutable.”
Bukele enjoys sky-high rates of approval in El Salvador. He boosted his country`s international image
hosting events like the Central American and Caribbean Games in July and the Miss Universe competition in
November.
The president has responded brashly to his critics, accusing them of defending gangsters. His success
has spurred a host of political aspirants in other Latin American countries from Argentina to Guatemala who
promise to emulate his heavy- handed tactics.
On Wednesday, January 3, Bukele said that he had spoken with one such foreign politician in a country
where the people were fed up with the traditional political parties: Argentina`s newly elected Javier Milei, the
self-declared “anarcho-capitalist” who raced to victory campaigning against what he called Argentina`s political
caste.
In a two-hour conversation, Bukele said, he told Milei that he would have to confront a system that did not
agree with him.
“I told him that I wished him luck, we wish him the best and hope that he can overcome those obstacles,
the obstacle of the reality, as well as the obstacle of the system that is going to try to block him and that isn`t
going to let him make the changes that he wants to make,`` Bukele said.

the `unbeatable` Tetris — by breaking it
SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — The falling-block video game Tetris has met its match in 13- year-old Willis
Gibson, who has become the first player to officially “beat” the original Nintendo version of the game __ by
breaking it.
Technically, Willis __ aka “blue scuti” in the gaming world __ made it to what gamers call a “kill screen,” a
point where the Tetris code glitches, crashing the game. That might not sound like much of a victory to anyone
thinking that only high scores count, but it`s a highly coveted achievement in the world of video games, where
records involve pushing hardware and software to their limits. And beyond.
It`s also a very big deal for players of Tetris, which many had long considered unbeatable. That`s partly
because the game doesn`t have a scripted ending; those four-block shapes just keep falling no matter how good
you get at stacking them into disappearing rows. Top players continued to find ways to extend their winning
streaks by staying in the game to reach higher and higher levels, but in the end, the game beat them all.
Until, that is, Willis managed on Dec. 21 to trigger a kill screen on Level 157, which the gaming world takes
as a victory over the game __ something along the lines of pushing the software past its own limits.
The makers of Tetris agree. “Congratulations to ‘blue scuti’ for achieving this extraordinary accomplishment,
a feat that defies all preconceived limits of this legendary game,” Tetris CEO Maya Rogers said in
a statement. Rogers noted that Tetris will celebrate its 40th anniversary this year and called Willis` victory a
“monumental achievement.”
It`s been a very long road. Early on, “the Tetris scene people didn’t even know how to get to these higher
levels,” said David Macdonald, a gaming YouTuber who has chronicled the gaming industry for years. “They
were just stuck in the 20s and 30s because they just didn`t know techniques to get any further.” Level 29 posed
an especially tough roadblock because the blocks began falling more quickly than the in-game controller could
respond.
Eventually players found ways to make progress, as Macdonald chronicled in his detailed video on Willis
victory. In 2011, one got to Level 30 using a technique called “hypertapping,” in which a player could rhythmically
vibrate their fingers to move the game controller faster than the game`s built-in speed. That technique took
players to level 35 by 2018, after which they hit a wall.
The next big thing came in 2020 when a gamer combined a multifinger technique originally used on arcade
video games with a finger positioned on the bottom of the controller to push it against another finger on the top.
Called “rolling,” this much speedier approach helped one player reach Level 95 in 2022.
Then other obstacles arose. Because the original Tetris developers had never counted on players pushing
the game`s limits so aggressively, bizarre quirks began to crop up at higher levels. One particularly difficult issue
arose with the game`s color palette, which traditionally cycled through 10 easily distinguished patterns. Starting
at level 138, though, random color combinations began to appear __ some of which made it much harder to
distinguish the blocks from the game`s black background.
Two particularly devilish patterns __ one a dim combination of dark blues and greens later dubbed “Dusk,``
the other composed of black, gray and white blocks called “Charcoal” __ proved taxing for players. When combined
with the strain of increasingly longer games, which could run 40 minutes or more, progress slowed again. It
took a Tetris-playing AI program dubbed StackRabbit to break that logjam by helping map out just where players
might happen across a glitch resulting in a kill screen, and finally beat the game.
StackRabbit, which managed to make it all the way to Level 237 before crashing the game, ran on a
modified version of Tetris, so its achievements aren`t strictly comparable to those of human players. And its
findings weren`t immediately applicable to the human-played game, either. But its runs clearly demonstrated
that game-ending glitches could be triggered by very specific events, such as which block pieces were in play or
how many lines a player cleared at once.
That let human players take over the task of mapping all possible scenarios that could cause such crashes
in the original game. These typically resulted when the game`s decade-old code lost its place and began reading
its next instructions from the wrong location, generally resulting in garbage input. A massive effort spurred by
StackRabbit`s experience eventually led to the compilation of a large spreadsheet that detailed which game
levels and which specific conditions were most likely to lead to a crash.
That`s what compelled Willis to make his run for the record. Yet even he appeared shocked when he
crashed the game at Level 157. In his livestream video, he appears to hyperventilate before barely gasping “Oh
my God” several times, clutching his temples and worrying that he might be passing out. After cupping his hands
over his mouth in an apparent attempt to regulate his breathing, he finally exclaims, “I can’t feel my fingers.”

The decision was announced on TNT`s “NBA Tip-Off” on Thursday, the show that O`Neal has been part
of for several years. O`Neal said he was particularly thankful for Rich DeVos __ the original owner of the Magic,
who died in 2018 __ for bringing him to Orlando.
“It was a great four years there,” O`Neal said on the show. “I just wanted to come in and just make a name
for myself. ... I`d like to thank the city of Orlando, like to thank the Orlando Magic organization. Appreciate you
very much. “
The Magic have seen three other players wear No. 32 since O`Neal left there in 1996. Jeremy Richardson
donned it for 12 games in the 2008-09 season, Justin Harper wore it for 14 games in the 2011-12 season and
C.J. Watson had it for 95 games over two seasons from 2015 through 2017.
The retirement ceremony will follow Orlando`s game against Oklahoma City, one that will be televised on
TNT. O`Neal went into the Magic Hall of Fame in 2015, the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2016 and was named to
the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team in 2021.

In its flagship economic report, the U.N. projected that global economic growth would slow to 2.4% this
year from an estimated 2.7% in 2023, which exceeds expectations. But both are still below the 3.0% growth rate
before the COVID-19 pandemic began in 2020, it said.
The U.N. forecast is lower than those of the International Monetary Fund in October and the Organization
for Economic Cooperation and Development in late November.
The IMF said it expects global growth to slow from an expected 3% in 2023 to 2. 9% in 2024. The Paris-based
OECD, comprising 38 mainly developed countries, estimated that international growth would also slow from
an expected 2.9% in 2023 to 2.7% in 2024.
The U.N.’s report -- World Economic Situation and Prospects 2024 -- warned that the prospects of prolonged
tighter credit conditions and higher borrowing costs present “strong headwinds” for a world economy
saddled with debt, especially in poorer developing countries, and needing investment to resuscitate growth.
Shantanu Mukherjee, director of the U.N.’s Economic Analysis and Policy Division, said fears of a recession
in 2023 were averted mainly due to the United States, the world’s largest economy, curbing high inflation
without putting the brakes on the economy.
But he told a news conference launching the report: “We’re still not out of the danger zone.”
Mukherjee said that’s because the unsettled situation in the world could fuel inflation. For example, another
supply chain shock or problem in fuel availability or distribution could prompt another interest rate hike to
bring the situation under control, he said.
“We’re not expecting a recession, per se, but because there is volatility in the environment around us, this
is the major source of risk,” he said.
Very high interest rates for a long time and the threat of possible shocks to prices contribute to “quite a
difficult balancing act,” Mukherjee said. “So that’s really why we said that we are not yet out of the woods.”

De paseo por el Caribe:
cultura y relajación

El Mar Caribe siempre
ha inspirado a escritores y
poetas. el novelista Premio
Nobel Gabriel García Marquez
una vez observó que
“la realidad caribeña se asemeja
a la imaginación más
salvaje.” Y el novelista norteamericano
James Michener
llamó al Caribe “una de
las aguas más atractivas del
mundo, una gema entre los
océanos, definido por las islas
que forman una cadena
de bellas joyas al norte y al
este.” Para mí el Caribe es
todo eso y disfrutarlo en un
crucero es ideal.
Si tuviera que definir
la experiencia de un crucero
por el Caribe en pocas palabras
tendría que decir que es
“un paseo relajante y variado.”
Esa es una de las razones
por las cuales travesías
por el Caribe son tan populares:
en estos tiempos de
tanto estrés diario nuestros
cuerpos y mentes nos piden
a gritos relajarnos, y el Caribe
es un punto del planeta
que tiene “de todo un poco”
–desde playas que se incluyen
en listas de las mejores
del mundo hasta tesoros en
experiencias culturales variadas.
Este otoño mi esposo
Humberto y yo seleccionamos
una travesía de 11 noches
por el Caribe abordo del
Crystal Serenity de la línea
Crystal zarpando de Miami
(nos pasamos un día antes
de embarcarnos disfrutando
de Miami Beach y de South
Beach con sus joyas arquitectónicas
del estilo Art Deco).
Y el itinerario de este barco
sosegado y relajante con
cupo para solamente 740
pasajeros, nos gustaba pues
tenía paradas en islas con
herencias de culturas francesas,
británicas y holandesas.
En este viaje queríamos
disfrutar de ese “de todo
un poco” del Caribe tanto
en bellezas naturales como
en experiencias culturales.
Naturalmente, en Tortola,
la escala en las Islas Vírgenes
británicas, nos fuimos
a Los Baños (“The Baths”)
con sus grutas y formaciones
rocosas en Vírgen Gorda
–ya habíamos visitado esta
espectacular playa con anterioridad,
pero no importa
cuantas veces uno haya ido,
simplemente hay que volver
pues su belleza es, como el
canto de las sirenas de la mitología,
irresistible.
En Nassau, Bahamas,
además de las playas de Paradise
Island, disfrutamos
de compras de souvenirs en
el Mercado de Paja (“Straw
Market”) en Bay Street, a
unos pasos del Puerto de
Cruceros, donde artesanos
locales venden lindas muñecas
y una inmensa variedad
de artículos de paja incluyendo
jabas y zapatillas.
Entre las experiencias
culturales favoritas nuestras
del viaje, fue una en Marigot,
la capital de St. Martin,
la parte francesa en la isla de
“doble personalidad”, francesa/holandesa,
St. Martin/
St. Maarten. En St. Martin
disfrutamos de ese producto
tan francés, el perfume,
con una experiencia interesante
y sumamente fragante,
creando nuestro propio
perfume original. La excursión
nos llevó a la perfumería
Tijon Perfumery en el
pueblo de Grand Case. Esta
perfumería es un laboratorio
de fragancias francesas-caribeñas
donde los visitantes
tienen oportunidad de seleccionar
una variedad de más
de 300 aceites para crear un
perfume original a su gusto
personal. Uno de los aceites
que yo seleccioné fue de
jazmin, pues es una flor que
siempre me recuerda del jardín
de las casas de mis abuelos
en Cuba y de mis padres
en Miami, y mezclé con el
aceite de jazmín otros aceites
de fragancia delicada en mi
perfume, y le puse el nombre
“Recuerdo”. Me lo embotellaron
en un lindo envase
y me dieron un certificado.
Después de esta linda experiencia,
aprovechamos para
hacer compras en un mercado
de artesanía y probamos
especialidades de la cocina
francesa-caribeña en Marigot,
particularmente los
dulces incluyendo el éclair de
chocolate de Chef Fernand
en La French Bakery –¡delicioso!
Y fuimos de compras
en la parte holandesa de St.
Maarten, incluyendo bella
porcelana Delft y lindos zuecos
pintados a mano.
Otra experiencia cultural,
dulce también, fue la que
disfrutamos en el Puerto de
Castries, St. Lucia. Allí tomamos
una excursión al Colectivo
de Apicultura Iyanola,
ubicado a unos minutos del
Puerto de Castries por autobús

Culture and Relaxation
The Caribbean Sea has captivated writers and poets. Novelist James Michener called it “one
of the world’s most alluring bodies of water, a rare gem among the oceans, defined by the islands
that form a chain of lovely jewels to the north and east.” And Colombian Nobel Prize winner journalist
and novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez observed that “Caribbean reality resembles the wildest
imagination.”
To me the Caribbean is all that and enjoying it on a cruise is ideal. If I had to define the experience
of a Caribbean cruise in a few words I would say that it is “a relaxing and varied experience.” That
is one of the reasons why Caribbean cruises are so popular: during these stressful times our bodies
and minds beg us to relax, and the Caribbean is a spot on the planet that has “a little of everything”
–from beaches that are included in lists of the best in the world to varied cultural treasures.
This fall my husband, Humberto, and I selected an 11-night Caribbean cruise on the Crystal
Serenity from cruise line Crystal, sailing from Miami (we spent a day before setting sail enjoying
Miami Beach and South Beach with its Art Deco architectural gems). And the itinerary of this relaxing
ship with capacity for only 740 passengers, appealed to us because it made stops on islands with
French, British and Dutch cultural heritage.
On this voyage we wanted to enjoy that “a little of everything” that the Caribbean has, both in
natural beauty as cultural experiences. Naturally, in Tortola, a stop in the British Virgin Islands, we
headed for The Baths” with its rock formations and grottoes in Virgin Gorda –we had already visited
this spectacular beach before, but it does not matter how many times you have gone, you simply
have to return as its beauty is as irresistible as the sirens’ song of old.
In Nassau, Bahamas, in addition to the beaches of Paradise Island, we enjoyed shopping for

Among our favorite cultural experiences of the cruise was one in Marigot, the capital of St.
Martin, the French side of the “double personality,” Dutch/French island of St. Maarten/St. Martin. In
St. Martin we enjoyed that very French creation, perfume, with an interesting and very fragrant experience,
creating our own perfume. Our excursion tooks us to Tijon Perfumery in the town of Grand
Case. This facility is a lab with French-Caribbean fragrances where visitors have the opportunity to
select from a variety of more than 300 oils to create their own personal perfume. One of the oils that I
selected was jasmine, as that is a flower that always reminds me of the house of my grandparents in
Cuba and of my parents in Miami, and I mixed it with other delicate oils and called it “Remembrance.”
They bottled it for me and gave me a certificate.
After this lovely experience we shopped in an arts and crafts market and tasted French-Caribbean
specialties in Marigot, particularly the pastries including the chocolate éclair of Chef Fernand in
La French Bakery –delicious! And we went shopping on the Dutch side of the island for the beautiful
Delft porcelain.
Another sweet cultural experience was the one we enjoyed in Castries, St. Lucia. There we
took a tour to the Iyanola Apiculture Collective, located a few minutes from the cruise pier via tourist
bus. Dedicated to the support of apiculturists in the country and other Caribbean islands, it tries to
promote ecology, forest conservation and the expansion of the apiculture industry. In the Collective
we heard a talk about bees and their history in St. Lucia and from an observation hall we saw an
apiculturist, in protective gear, interacting with the bees. We tasted the sweet honey made from the
white flowers of the black mangrove and we bought a bottle to take home and sweeten our morning
coffee. This tour may not be for everyone as there is risk of a bee sting being so close to an active
hive.
In Barbados, a British-heritage island, we tried a tea in the Sunbury Plantation House that dates
from the 17th century and today is a museum filled with beautiful furnishings and antiques including
a 200-year-old dining room table and historic carriages. In addition to the tea, visitors are also able
to opt for a lunch and local rum punch.
Onboard the Crystal Serenity, the food also provided cultural flavors, including Caribbean specialties
– the menus of some of the restaurants reflect culinary traditions of the Caribbean and other
regions where the ship sails –like rice and black beans in the Tastes Kitchen & Bar restaurant that
serves tapas from various cuisines. Other international flavors can be enjoyed in the ship’s alternative
restaurant, Umi Uma, of celebrity Chef Nobu Matsuhisa, who utilizes traditional ingredients
from Japan and Peru and in the alternative restaurant Osteria d’Ovidio, we tried delicious Italian
specialties.
Very relaxing was the ship’s gorgeous Seahorse Swimming Pool, in an area filled with comfortable
pool beds and lounge chairs, and the ship’s gymnasium with the latest in equipment as
well as its Aurora Spa, an oasis with 12 treatment rooms. We enjoyed delicious homemade gelato
in Scoops, near the pool, and also relaxed during afternoon musical teas in the lovely Palm Court,
palm-adorned lounge.
Upon our return to Miami, we disembarked, rested and mentally stimulated after our days in
the relaxing and varied Caribbean Sea with its islands filled with beautiful panoramas and cultural
experiences.

South African athlete Oscar Pistorius is freed on
parole after serving 9 years in girlfriend`s death
PRETORIA, South Africa (AP) __ South African athlete Oscar Pistorius has been released from prison
on parole after serving nearly nine years in prison for killing his girlfriend and is now at home, South Africa’s
Department of Corrections said Friday.
The department gave no more details of Pistorius’ release. The announcement came at around 8:30 a.m.,
indicating corrections officials had released the world- famous double-amputee Olympic runner from the Atteridgeville
Correctional Center in the South African capital, Pretoria, in the early hours.
Pistorius has served nearly nine years of his 13 years and five months murder sentence for killing girlfriend
Reeva Steenkamp on Valentine’s Day 2013. He was approved for parole in November.
Serious offenders in South Africa are eligible for parole after serving at least half their sentence.
The Department of Corrections said in a two-sentence statement announcing Pistorius` release that it
was “able to confirm that Oscar Pistorius is a parolee, effectively from 5 January 2024. He was admitted into the
system of Community Corrections and is now at home.”
Pistorius was expected to initially live at his uncle`s mansion in the upscale Waterkloof suburb of Pretoria,
and a police van was seen parked outside of that house.
Department of Corrections officials had said Pistorius` release time would not be announced in advance
and he would not be “paraded” because they hoped to keep him away from the media glare that has trailed him
since he shot Steenkamp multiple times through a toilet door at his home in the predawn hours of Feb. 14, 2013.
He will live under strict parole conditions until the remainder of his sentence expires in December 2029.
Steenkamp`s mother, June Steenkamp, said in a statement earlier Friday that she had accepted Pistorius`
parole as part of South African law.
“Has there been justice for Reeva? Has Oscar served enough time? There can never be justice if your
loved one is never coming back, and no amount of time served will bring Reeva back,`` June Steenkamp said.
``We who remain behind are the ones serving a life sentence.”
“With the release of Oscar Pistorius on parole, my only desire is that I will be allowed to live my last years
in peace with my focus remaining on the Reeva Rebecca Steenkamp Foundation, to continue Reeva’s legacy.”
The Department of Corrections has emphasized that the multiple Paralympic champion`s release __ like
every other offender on parole __ does not mean that he has served his time.
Some of Pistorius’ parole conditions include restrictions on when he’s allowed to leave his home, a ban on
consuming alcohol, and orders that he must attend programs on anger management and on violence against
women. He will have to perform community service.
Pistorius will also have to regularly meet with parole officials at his home and at correctional services offices
and will be subjected to unannounced visits by authorities. He is not allowed to leave the Waterkloof district
without permission and is banned from speaking to the media until the end of his sentence. He could be sent
back to jail if he is in breach of any of his parole conditions.
South Africa does not use tags or bracelets on paroled offenders so Pistorius will not wear any monitoring
device, Department of Corrections officials said. But he will be constantly monitored by a department official
and will have to inform the official of any major changes in his life, such as if he wants to get a job or move to
another house.
Pistorius has maintained that he shot Steenkamp, a 29-year-old model and law graduate, by mistake. He
testified that he believed Steenkamp was a dangerous intruder hiding in his bathroom and shot through the door
with his licensed 9 mm pistol in self-defense.
Prosecutors said he killed his girlfriend intentionally during a late-night argument.
Steenkamp’s family did not oppose his parole application in November, although June Steenkamp said in
a victim statement submitted to the parole board that she didn’t believe Pistorius had been fully rehabilitated and
was still lying about the killing.
Before the killing, Pistorius was held up as an inspiring role model after having had both of his legs amputated
below the knee as a baby because of a congenital condition. He became a champion sprinter on his
carbon-fiber running blades and made history by competing at the 2012 London Olympics.
But his murder trial destroyed his image. He was accused of being prone to angry outbursts and acting
recklessly with guns, while witnesses testified about various altercations he had with others, including an argument
in which he allegedly threatened to break a man’s legs.
Pistorius was first convicted of culpable homicide __ a charge comparable to manslaughter __ and sentenced
to five years in prison for killing Steenkamp. After appeals by prosecutors, he was ultimately found guilty
of murder and had his sentence increased, although that judgment by the Supreme Court of Appeal still didn’t
definitively rule that he knew it was Steenkamp behind the toilet door.
Pistorius was first sent to prison in 2014, was released on house arrest in 2015 during an appeal and was
sent back to prison in 2016. He was initially incarcerated at the maximum security Kgosi Mampuru II Prison in
Pretoria but was moved to Atteridgeville early in his sentence because it is better suited to holding disabled
prisoners.
Reaction to Pistorius’ parole has been muted in South Africa, a stark contrast to the first days and months
after Steenkamp’s killing, which sparked angry protests outside of Pistorius’ court hearings calling for him to
receive a long prison sentence. There is no death penalty in South Africa.
“He has ticked all the necessary boxes,” said Themba Masango, secretary general of Not In My Name
International, a group that campaigns against violence against women. “And we can only wish and hope Oscar
Pistorius will come out a better human being.”
“We tend to forget that there is a possibility where somebody can be rehabilitated.”

Movie Review: Jessica Chastain, Peter Sarsgaard
anchor ‘Memory,’ a thorny drama with a tender heart

Pain and trauma permeate
Michel Franco’s new
drama “ Memory, “ about
two lost souls who find surprising
comfort in one another.
Both Jessica Chastain’s
Sylvia and Peter Sarsgaard’s
Saul are hostage to their
own minds, though in vastly
different ways. Hers haunts
her. His is failing rapidly.
And neither are entirely
trustworthy.
“Memory,” expanding
nationwide Friday, starts
as a seemingly standard issue
“damaged person” movie,
introducing Chastain’s
Sylvia celebrating 12 years
of sobriety at an Alcoholics
Anonymous meeting that
her 12-year-old attends with
her. But there are layers to
this dramatic mystery, compounded
with unreliable narrators
and moral grey areas.
Before you know it, the film
morphs from something familiar
into something altogether
unexpected.
Though it is not easily
categorizable, “Memory” is
a thoughtful journey featuring
very fine performances
from both Chastain and Sarsgaard,
who was rewarded
with the best actor prize
from the Venice Film Festival
last fall. While there are
moments of levity to break
up the anguish, it could also
come with a laundry list of
trigger warnings as it explores
difficult subjects from
sexual abuse to mental illness
in pretty unsatisfactory
ways. Perhaps it’s a good
thing that the holidays are
over because this is not one
to watch with the family, especially
if they’re harboring
secrets of their own that
have evolved into generational
trauma.
The film binds you at
first to Sylvia, a social worker
and single mother who
is suspicious of everything
and everyone. She always
seems ready to bolt for safety
and survival. She lives
by a strict routine: Walking
her daughter, Anna (Brooke
Timber), to school, going to
work at an adult day care
and her AA meetings. Home
is a fortress: As soon as she
steps into her downtrodden
apartment, she`s triple locking
her door and punching
in the security code to arm
the place.
Even knowing her this
little, it’s surprising that
her younger sister Olivia
(Merritt Wever) is able to
convince her to tag along to
a high school reunion kind
of event early in the film.
The decision seems even
more unfathomable when
you learn additional details
about Sylvia’s school years,
but it’s clear that she is uncomfortable
and unhappy at
the event, which she soon
leaves.
For a moment, you
wonder if perhaps her fears
and anxieties are warranted
as she realizes that night
that a man is following her
home, first down the street,
then onto the same subway
car, then off at the same
spot, right to her doorstep.
It is like a nightmare as she
fumbles for her keys. You
hold your breath until she’s
made it inside. Hours later,
the man is still there outside,
looking up at her. Is he
imagined? A dream? An ex?
A stranger?
The man in question is
Saul, who she finds out is suffering
from early onset dementia.
He won’t remember
that he followed her home
or why but he will remember
her for whatever reason. His
brother, Isaac (Josh Charles),
asks if Sylvia would
want to work for them as a

película aparentemente estándar sobre “una persona dañada”, presentando a Sylvia en su festejo por 13 años
de sobriedad en una reunión de Alcohólicos Anónimos a la que asiste con su hija de 13 años. Pero este dramático
misterio tiene capas, agravadas por narradores poco fiables y zonas morales grises. Antes de que te des
cuenta, la historia pasa de ser algo familiar a algo completamente inesperado.
Aunque no es fácilmente clasificable, “Memory” es un viaje reflexivo que presenta excelentes interpretaciones
tanto de Chastain como de Sarsgaard, quien fue recompensado con el premio al mejor actor en el
Festival de Cine de Venecia el otoño pasado. Si bien hay momentos de ligereza para romper con la angustia,
tiene otras escenas que podrían ser sobrecogedoras para muchos y explora temas difíciles, desde el abuso
sexual hasta las enfermedades mentales, de maneras bastante insatisfactorias. Quizás sea bueno que las
vacaciones hayan terminado porque no es un filme apto para toda la familia, especialmente si esconden sus
propios secretos que se han convertido en un trauma generacional.
El filme te une al principio a Sylvia, una trabajadora social y madre soltera que desconfía de todo y de
todos. Ella siempre parece lista para salir corriendo en busca de seguridad y supervivencia. Vive según una
estricta rutina: acompañar a su hija, Anna (Brooke Timber), a la escuela, trabajar a una casa de cuidados para
adultos con discapacidades y asistir a sus reuniones de AA. El hogar es una fortaleza: tan pronto como entra
a su oprimido apartamento, cierra la puerta con llave tres veces y activa una alerta de seguridad para proteger
el lugar.
Por eso es sorprendente que su hermana menor Olivia (Merritt Wever) pueda convencerla de acompañarla
a una reunión de exalumnos de secundaria al principio de la película. La decisión parece aún más insondable
cuando conoces detalles adicionales sobre los años escolares de Sylvia, pero está claro que ella se siente
incómoda e infeliz en el evento, que pronto abandona.
Por un momento, te preguntas si quizás sus miedos y ansiedades están justificados cuando se da cuenta
esa noche de que un hombre la sigue a su casa, primero por la calle, luego en el mismo vagón del metro, hasta
llegar a su puerta. Es como una pesadilla mientras busca las llaves. Aguantas la respiración hasta que ella
entra. Horas más tarde, el hombre todavía está ahí afuera, mirándola. ?Está imaginado? ?Un sueño? ?Un ex?
?Un extraño?
El hombre en cuestión es Saul, de quien descubre que sufre demencia de aparición temprana. Él no
recuerda que la siguió a casa ni por qué, pero parece obsesionado con ella. Su hermano, Isaac (Josh Charles),
pregunta si Sylvia querría trabajar para ellos como cuidadora de Saul.
Y Saul y Sylvia desarrollan un vínculo profundo entre ellos que va más allá de los límites de los cuidadores
profesionales. Ambos están dañados y anhelan una conexión y su amistad es como un bálsamo, hasta que
evoluciona hacia algo más. Sin entrar en demasiados detalles, esta relación presenta un dilema ético que la
película no parece dispuesta a abordar de manera seria, lo que hace que “Memory” parezca, en el mejor de los
casos, subdesarrollada. En el peor de los casos, ni siquiera está segura de lo que intenta decir. El filme tiene
uno de esos finales que parece feliz, pero te deja con un sentimiento persistente de temor y preocupación por

a balm, until it evolves into

going into too many details,
this relationship presents an
ethical quandary that the
movie does not seem willing
to engage with in any serious
way, making “Memory” feel
underdeveloped at best. At
worst, it`s not even sure
what it`s trying to say. This
movie has one of those endings
that presents itself as
happy but leaves you with
a lingering feeling of dread
and worry for all involved.
Movies can be empathy
machines and also a form
of therapy, giving audiences
permission to step into
a stranger`s shoes and feel
things that otherwise might
seem too difficult, too transgressive,
too much.
Sarsgaard does a beautiful
job of playing this man
who has been dealt an awful
card, whose body still works
but whose mind is untrustworthy.
His isn’t the only
one: Sylvia also has flawed
recall, as do members of her
family, like her compartmentalizing
mother played
brilliantly by Jessica Harper.
It all compounds into misery,
secrets and shame.
Memory may be imperfect,
this movie reminds us,
but feelings rarely are.

espacial se dieron cita
en un evento sin precedentes,
donde se exploraron
en profundidad los detalles
de la Misión Colmena. Este
proyecto pionero promete
catapultar a México a nuevas
alturas en el campo de la robótica
espacial y la exploración
lunar.
La conferencia fue un
crisol de temas apasionantes,
que incluyeron la tecnología
robótica de vanguardia,

Mission Colmena: Mexico reaches for the stars with space robotics
ORLANDO, Florida (AP) - In an atmosphere charged with excitement and anticipation, the Consulate of
Mexico in Orlando became the epicenter of an informative conference that shed light on the ambitious plans of
the Mexican Space Agency. Experts, students, and space exploration enthusiasts gathered at an unprecedented
event, where the details of the Colmena Mission were explored in depth. This pioneering project promises to
catapult Mexico to new heights in the field of space robotics and lunar exploration.
The conference was a melting pot of exciting topics, including cutting-edge robotics technology, the thrilling
future plans of the Mexican space agency, and the incredible efforts of students from the prestigious National
Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). However, the undeniable center of attention was the scheduled
launch on Monday, January 8th, at 2:18 in the morning.
On that day, the ULA spacecraft will majestically ascend from the launch pad at Cape Canaveral, Florida,
carrying the Peregrine capsule, which will first head to Earth’s orbit before catapulting itself into lunar orbit,
where it will eventually land on the lunar surface.
Once on the Moon, the Peregrine capsule will deploy five micro robots, tiny explorers standing at just
12 cm in height. These solar-powered robots will conduct meticulous tests during a lunar day, equivalent to
approximately 15 Earth days. The information gathered during these tests will be essential for designing robots
capable of performing mining and exploration tasks on both the Moon and the more than 1,500 asteroids orbiting
near Earth.
Benjamín Najar Lomelí, the President of the Space Commission of the Mexican Federation of the Aerospace
Industry, made it clear that Mexico has ambitious plans for the near future. The country aims to have its
own arsenal of rockets and a launch base within the next two to three years, a milestone that demonstrates
Mexico’s determination in its quest for space.
Even more exciting was the prominent involvement of 250 UNAM students in the development of the
robots and the catapult that will be crucial for the mission’s success. This achievement not only represents a
milestone in the history of Mexican space exploration but also symbolizes a promising start in the pursuit of
scientific excellence and leadership.
However, the fundamental purpose of the Colmena Mission goes beyond technology and space exploration.
It is about inspiring the next generation of aerospace engineers, physicists, and astronauts. Authorities
hope that this project serves as a beacon of inspiration for young people, demonstrating that, with dedication
and passion, they can build a brilliant future for themselves and their country.
The conference at the Consulate of Mexico in Orlando not only shed light on the Colmena Mission but
also demonstrated that Mexico is willing to reach for the stars and that young people have the potential to build

a lo largo del año pasa-do.
Alcanzamos numerosos hitos,
organizamos AÚN MÁS
eventos en la ciudad, iniciamos
nue-vos proyectos y dimos

his January 2024 message
As we embark on the journey of a new year, I find myself reflecting on the positive developments that
unfolded in 2023. Despite encountering various challenges, the City of Palm Bay experienced substantial growth
and prosperity throughout the past year. We achieved numerous milestones, hosted even MORE city events,
initiated new projects, and welcomed new businesses to Palm Bay. My unwavering commitment to all of you is
to continue to steer this remarkable city towards a better, brighter future.
On that same note, I would like to recognize and honor that January 1st is a doubly special holiday in Haiti.
In addition to celebrating the beginning of a new year, New Year’s Day is also Haitian Independence Day.
The weather may have canceled this year’s Family Christmas Extravaganza, but we were still able to bless
our community and honor our partners by giving Christmas away. Thank you to everyone who came out for the
raffle giveaway. Next year will be bigger and better!
I want to send out a special thank you to the Brevard County Commission for approving $250,000 to further
enhance Sacrifice Park, a memorial dedicated to honoring first responders who have made the ultimate sacrifice
while serving the Palm Bay and Brevard County community. The city had over a 50% match for this request, to
include $150,000 in state appropriations and $100,000 in private donations. It has been my continued mission to
give this community and our valued first responders a memorial of which to be proud, and thanks to the County
Commission, we can now achieve that goal. I am so #PalmBayProud of everyone who had a part in this initiative,
and we are excited to begin this project in 2024. We have a responsibility to ensure that our fallen heroes know
that we will never forget the blood that was shed on the very fabric of our City and our County. Never will we

On January 16, we honor the life and achievements of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. On this day, we reflect on
the profound impact of Dr. King’s unwavering commitment to civil rights and his tireless efforts to eradicate racial
discrimination. Martin Luther King Jr. Day stands as a powerful tribute to the lasting legacy of a visionary leader
who championed equality, justice, and unity. In 1963 Dr. King said, “The ultimate measure of a man is not where
he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”
As we honor Martin Luther King Jr., we acknowledge the strides made towards equality while recognizing the
ongoing work necessary to fulfill his dream.
On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we solemnly reflect on the immense human cost of hatred
and intolerance during one of history’s darkest chapters. We honor the millions of innocent lives lost and recommit
ourselves to fostering empathy and tolerance; that is why I brought forth the resolution for our City Council to
adopt the non-binding International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) working definition of antisemitism
to which Brevard County followed our lead and did the same. Let this day be a powerful reminder to confront
injustice, stand against discrimination, and build a future marked by compassion and the unwavering protection
of human rights for all.
In closing, I want to remind everyone to save the date of March 23, 2024, for the annual Mayor’s Ball charity
fundraiser. As Mayor of the greatest city on the face of the Earth, I feel it is my duty to give back to the community,
and I have chosen a very special recipient: Serene Harbor.
Serene Harbor, a state-certified domestic violence shelter and resource center, has diligently served the
community for 31 years, providing critical support to individuals and families impacted by domestic violence. Established
in 1992, Serene Harbor’s mission is to break the cycle of domestic violence in Brevard County through
a multifaceted approach encompassing education, empowerment, intervention, prevention, social change, advocacy,
and community engagement.
At the heart of their operations is the provision of emergency shelter, offering a safe haven to women, children,
and even pets fleeing abusive environments. Last fiscal year, Serene Harbor provided an astounding 7,470
nights of emergency shelter, assisting 1,680 individuals in their courageous efforts to escape domestic violence.
The spectrum of services offered by Serene Harbor is vast, including a 24/7 crisis hotline, counseling,

programs, relocation assistance, housing assistance, legal support, civil injunction legal representation,

professional goals and offering newfound hope for a life free from violence.

Empower and educate your child about their new electronics
I know several children/preteens who were gifted with a smartphone or tablet, so it seemed appropriate to review a few safety guidelines, similar
to how we prepare children to swim or teens to drive a car. The goal is to minimize future challenges, such as interacting with predators, cyberbullies
or identity thieves, through the time spent early on providing informed guidance. Parents should work to instill safe online practices that apply to any
online environment. Here are a few examples of what kids (and adults) need to know: 1. There are mean people online, and a few might even be
predators. Using informative words versus scary language, explain the basic techniques predators use such as grooming and suggesting that their
relationship should be a secret. 2. Don’t retaliate when someone is mistreating you. 3. Don’t post or send anything you wouldn’t want everyone to
see. 4. Nothing is anonymous. 5. Everything can be copied, saved, and then misused. 6. Copy and save as evidence anything the was used in a
harmful way, including pictures. 7. If you are concerned, confused, or upset, talk to an adult you trust. 8. Be kind to others. Consider spending quality
time with your child on new games/apps so that you understand how it functions. Remember to listen to your child when they mention there may be a
problem. Cyberbullying and internet grooming can occur for extended periods of time when the target stays silent. Encourage your child to raise any
concerns they have so that you can keep them safe.
The true story of falls and awareness

Like you, I have read
many stories about falls,
including how to prepare
your home to prevent them
and all the tools available
to keep you from falling. As
I describe my falls, I hope
you will pick up on what I
consider their main cause.
These are my thoughts and
observations and describe
my own history of falls, but
how many of you have had
similar experiences?
• Fall #1: I was in the
foyer of a home picking up a
piece of art donated by a very
generous and good artist.
As I was about to leave via
the front door, I was called
to the living room. When I
stepped into the room, my
foot dropped into air, I lost
my footing and fell. I had
been standing on a raised
entryway. No damage.
• Fall #2: Completing
my rehabilitation following
knee surgery, I walked to
our guest bathroom without
my walker. As I entered the
room, I felt a little dizzy, lost
my strength and slid down
the cabinet to the floor, sitting
on my rear end. My feet
did not slide out from under
me but remained in place so
that my weight compressed
both knees, fracturing my
kneecap on the replaced
knee. It was more than painful.
Paramedics came and
put me in my recliner. Things
got worse overnight, and I
was in the hospital the next
day. That was the start of a
journey I will not describe
here, and it was all caused by
Fall #2.
• Fall #3: I was getting
ready for church on
Sunday, sitting on my stool
(did I mention I was now in
a wheelchair since I could
not stand on my legs due to
knee PAIN) and reached for
the door to steady myself.
Of course, the door was on
the other side, and I was on
the tile floor. No damage but
a little bruised and a painful
rise back to the stool.
• Fall #4: While transferring
from my recliner
to the wheelchair, I did not
correctly position the wheelchair
for the transfer and fell
to the floor on my back. No
damage but painful getting
up using pillows under my
knees.
• Fall #5: Was in a
medical office, used the facility
and the grab bars were
not positioned to help me so
in moving from the toilet to
a standing position I fell to
the floor. No damage, but I
could not get up, so I crawled
to the door, got it open, and
two nurses helped me to my
feet.
I had two more falls
like fall #4. If you have not
figured it out by now, each
fall was caused by me. I forgot
where the door was, I
failed to lock the wheelchair
handle, or I did not correctly
position the chair to which I
was transferring. It was all
awareness, something I first
learned in rehab. You have
to know where you are and
where you want to move,
then use your cane, walker,
or other device correctly.
In my case (fall #2), had I
been aware that the soles on
my shoes would not slide,
I would never have broken
my kneecap. I must admit,
unneeded weight and loss of
arm strength also contributed.
Having shared my stories
with you, I hope you will
reflect on your diet, workout
regimen, and awareness
of your physical environment.
There is no shame in
using an assistance device.
It is dumb to place yourself
in a harmful position. Stay
aware.

La verdadera historia de las caídas y la conciencia
Al igual que usted, he leído muchas historias sobre caídas, incluyendo cómo preparar su hogar para prevenirlas y todas las herramientas disponibles
para evitar caerse. Mientras describo mis caídas, espero que identifique lo que considero su principal causa. Estos son mis pensamientos
y observaciones, y describen mi propia historia de caídas, pero ¿cuántos de ustedes han tenido experiencias similares?
• Caída #1: Estaba en el vestíbulo de una casa recogiendo una obra de arte donada por un artista muy generoso y talentoso. Cuando estaba
a punto de salir por la puerta principal, me llamaron a la sala de estar. Cuando entré en la habitación, mi pie se hundió en el aire, perdí el equilibrio y
caí. Había estado parado en un umbral elevado. No hubo daño.
• Caída #2: Completando mi rehabilitación después de una cirugía de rodilla, caminé hacia nuestro baño de invitados sin mi andador. Al entrar
en la habitación, me sentí un poco mareado, perdí fuerza y me deslicé por el gabinete hasta el suelo, sentándome en mi trasero. Mis pies no se
deslizaron, pero permanecieron en su lugar, de modo que mi peso comprimió ambas rodillas, fracturando mi rótula en la rodilla reemplazada. Fue
más que doloroso. Los paramédicos vinieron y me pusieron en mi sillón reclinable. Las cosas empeoraron durante la noche, y al día siguiente estaba
en el hospital. Ese fue el comienzo de un viaje que no describiré aquí, y todo fue causado por la Caída #2.
• Caída #3: Me estaba preparando para ir a la iglesia el domingo, sentado en mi taburete (¿mencioné que ahora estaba en una silla de ruedas
porque no podía ponerme de pie debido al DOLOR de mis rodillas?) y alcancé la puerta para sujetarme. Por supuesto, la puerta estaba al otro lado,
y yo estaba en el suelo de baldosas. No hubo daño, pero quedé un poco magullado y fue doloroso volver al taburete.
• Caída #4: Mientras me trasladaba de mi sillón reclinable a la silla de ruedas, no posicioné correctamente la silla de ruedas para la transferencia
y caí al suelo de espaldas. No hubo daño, pero fue doloroso levantarme usando almohadas debajo de mis rodillas.
• Caída #5: Estaba en una consulta médica, utilicé las instalaciones y las barras de agarre no estaban posicionadas para ayudarme, así que al
pasar del inodoro a la posición de pie, caí al suelo. No hubo daño, pero no pude levantarme, así que gateé hasta la puerta, la abrí y dos enfermeras
me ayudaron a ponerme de pie.
Tuve otras dos caídas como la Caída #4. Si aún no lo ha deducido, cada caída fue causada por mí. Olvidé dónde estaba la puerta, no bloqueé
el mango de la silla de ruedas o no posicioné correctamente la silla a la que me estaba trasladando. Todo se debió a la conciencia, algo que aprendí
por primera vez en rehabilitación. Debes saber dónde estás y hacia dónde quieres moverte, luego usar tu bastón, andador u otro dispositivo correctamente.
En mi caso (Caída #2), si hubiera sido consciente de que las suelas de mis zapatos no resbalaban, nunca habría roto mi rótula. Debo admitir
que el exceso de peso innecesario y la pérdida de fuerza en los brazos también contribuyeron.
Habiendo compartido mis historias con usted, espero que reflexione sobre su dieta, rutina de ejercicios y conciencia de su entorno físico. No
hay vergüenza en usar un dispositivo de asistencia. Es imprudente colocarse en una posición peligrosa. Mantente alerta.
