Les montres les plus nobles sont celles arborant les plus
grandes complications. Ce seul critère ne suffit pourtant pas
car il n’est plus rare dans la production actuelle de croiser des
montres équipées d’un Tourbillon ou d’un Quantième Perpétuel.
L’approche horlogère de la marque ou du créateur sont des
facteurs déterminants de la « noblesse » du garde-temps.
Nous vous proposons quelques exemples de bienfacture dans

complications, though this criteria
alone is not enough, as it is no
longer rare within existing
production to come across
watches with a Tourbillon or
with a Perpetual Calendar.
The watch-making philosophy
of the brand or of the creator is a
determining factor in the
‘nobility factor’ of the timepiece.

Jaquet Droz – Bird Repeater
Jaquet Droz is returning to his traditional roots as a creator of automatons
dating back to the 18th Century with this novel watch that features
animations and minute repetitions. The desire of Nicolas G. Hayek to
bring together the crafts that have given life to these timepieces has
been fulfilled by his grandson Mac A. Hayek, now President of the
company. “The Bird Repeater” features the scene of a pair of blue
tits and their chicks that are hand-carved and hand-painted.
The triggering of eight animation sequences is organized by a system
of cams and is co-ordinated with the hour, quarter-hour and minute
Repeater. This magnificent living scene will be in the hands of only
eight happy owners in each of the versions delivered.

Jaquet Droz renoue avec sa tradition de créateur d’automates datant du XVIIIe siècle
en présentant une montre inédite à Automates et Répétition Minute. La volonté de Nicolas
G. Hayek souhaitant rassembler les métiers d’art pouvant donner vie à ses garde-temps a
été exaucée par son petit-fils Mac A. Hayek, désormais Président de la marque.
« The Bird Repeater » met en scène un couple de mésanges et leurs oisillons,
gravés et peints à la main, dont le déclanchement des huit animations ordonnées par un
système de cames est coordonné avec la Répétition des heures, quarts, et minutes.
Ce magnifique tableau vivant ne sera destiné qu’à huit heureux propriétaires
dans chacune des versions livrées.
Patek Philippe 5204 – Split-second Chronograph and Perpetual Calendar
With this split-second chronograph and Perpetual Calendar, Patek Philippe concludes a
series of eight classic chronograph creations in seven years. Its traditional architecture
with manual rewinding, two column wheels and horizontal clutch ticks all the boxes
for the traditional watch enthusiast. Patek Philippe has revisited all the elements of this
movement with a view to optimizing them, providing us with the best Split-second
Chronograph in the world. The Perpetual Calendar unit means that the exact date can
be seen with no need for the user to make a correction, not even for a leap year.
And Patek Philippe has presented a watch with twelve different displays, whose elegant
finishings answer both the technical and the aesthetic challenges.

Patek Philippe 5204 –
Chronographe à Rattrapante et Quantième Perpétuel
Avec ce modèle de chronographe à Rattrapante et Quantième Perpétuel,
Patek Philippe vient clore une série de huit créations de chronographes
classiques en sept ans. Son architecture traditionnelle avec un remontage
manuel, deux roues à colonnes et un embrayage horizontal a tous les
arguments pour les amateurs d’horlogerie traditionnelle.
Patek Philippe a revisité tous les détails de ce mouvement pour les optimiser
et proposer ainsi le meilleur Chronographe à Rattrapante du monde.
Le module du Quantième Perpétuel permet de lire la date précise et
ne nécessite aucune correction de la part de l’utilisateur, pas même pour
les années bissextiles. Enfin, Patek Philippe offre une montre présentant
douze affichages différents dont les finitions raffinées répondent à des
préoccupations à la fois techniques et esthétiques.

Zenith – Christophe Columbus and the Equation of Time
This fabulous watch brings together no less than three complications.
A gyroscope-balanced regulator located under a magnificent sapphire dome
ensures permanent horizontal positioning regardless of the positioning of the wrist
so that it makes no difference to the caliber’s regularity and precision.
The high frequency movement beats at 36000 vibrations per hour and is fully
manufactured, an area in which Zenith has been a specialist since 1969 with
its famous ‘El Primero’. On the dial at 9 o’clock is a display showing the difference
between the solar time and conventional time that can be between 16 minutes
ahead and 14 minutes behind. This complication is called the Equation of Time
and is manufactured in its entirety by Zenith, demonstrating an expert mastery of
the famous ‘golden hands’ of Locle.

Cette fabuleuse montre cumule pas moins de trois complications. Un organe
régulateur gyroscopique placé sous un magnifique dôme en saphir lui permet
de demeurer à plat en permanence et de s’affranchir des mouvements du
poignet pouvant altérer la régularité et la précision du calibre.
Un mouvement à haute fréquence battant à 36000 alternance / heure
entièrement manufacturé, dont Zenith s’est fait le spécialiste depuis 1969
et son célèbre « El Primero ». Et une indication sur le cadran, à 9h, de la
différence comprise entre 16 minutes d’avance et 14 minutes de retard selon
les jours, entre le temps solaire et l’heure conventionnelle. Cette dernière
complication appelée « Equation du Temps », entièrement manufacturée par
Zenith, démontre la grande maîtrise des fameuses « mains d’or » du Locle.

A.Lange & Söhne – Richard Lange Tourbillon « Pour le Mérite »
This timepiece is a homage from the Manufacturer A.Lange & Söhne to the German watchmaker
Seyffert that has been transmitting its craft for 200 years. On the watch face are three off-centre
circles that show minutes, hours and seconds. A cutaway at eight o’clock is an opportunity to
admire the fabulous Tourbillon whose function is to compensate for gravitational disturbances to
the movement’s balance wheel. The « Pour le Mérite » mark of distinction is awarded to this
watch with complications that features outstanding transmission through a fuse-chain.
This watch has all the expertise of a German maker contained within a superb timepiece
limited to a 100 watches in its platinum version.

Ce régulateur de poignet est un hommage de la Manufacture
A.Lange & Söhne à l’horloger saxon Seyffert qui rayonnait de son art,
il y a 200 ans. Sur le cadran, trois cercles décentrés affichent les minutes,
les heures, et les secondes, et, à huit heures, une découpe permet
d’admirer le fabuleux Tourbillon ayant pour fonction de compenser les effets
perturbateurs de la gravité terrestre sur le balancier du mouvement.
La distinction « Pour le Mérite » vient récompenser cette montre à
complications équipée d’une exceptionnelle transmission par fusée-chaîne.

Speake-Marin – Renaissance Tourbillon with Minute Repetition
A major collector of exceptional watches said that « The Renaissance
Tourbillon with Minute Repetition is not content with giving the time, it is
sublime. » The collector was paying homage to the extraordinary watchmaker
that is Peter Speake-Marin. Having learnt his craft in both England, his
country of birth, and Switzerland, his adopted country, he has worked on
the biggest complications for the most prestigious watchmaking houses.
In 2003, the inspired watchmaker decided to propel himself into the creation
of an eponymous brand. After nearly ten years of partnerships and original
creations including an entirely manufactured caliber, Speake-Marin is bringing
out a unique series named ‘Renaissance’. This watch brings together the

grand collectionneur de montres exceptionnelles rend hommage
au fabuleux travail de cet horloger hors normes qu’est Peter
Speake-Marin. Ayant fait ses classes entre son Angleterre
natale et sa Suisse adoptive, à travailler sur les plus grandes
complications pour les plus prestigieuses maisons horlogères,
l’horloger génial a décidé en 2003 de se lancer dans la création
d’une marque éponyme. Après presque dix ans de collaborations
et de créations originales, dont un calibre entièrement
manufacturé, Speake-Marin propose une série de pièces
uniques baptisée « Renaissance ». Cette montre associant
les deux complications les plus appréciées des amateurs
d’horlogerie – Le Tourbillon et la Répétition Minute – offre la
possibilité d’une personnalisation unique. La platine visible par le
fond saphir de la montre est gravée à la main selon la demande
