Harrods (Londres), Isetan Department Store (Tokyo)…
An identity which makes you melt
Anyone entering into the universe of the Galler Chocolatiers is
treated to a journey into a world of unique and creative flavours.
Whatever you choose, it’s always a delight for the taste buds.
The company was created in 1976, just as Jean Galler, 21 years
of age, was finishing his apprenticeship. It was in Switzerland
that he learnt the basics of the chocolaterie before proving
himself at Gaston Lenôtre in Paris. For more than thirty years
now, the world of chocolate has been mutating. The tastes
and the expectations of the public have evolved. Today, you
have to seduce and astonish. If Jean Galler is the man of taste,
his wife is, and always has been, the person who brings the
sticks, tablets and other morsels to life and decorates them.
With a diploma from the Academy of Fine Arts, she imagines
and creates the direct communication, commencing with the
shape of the pralines and the coherence of the packaging.
Recently, she has been helped by two assistants who ensure
the continuity of the visual identity of the brand. If by chance
a product hasn’t met with success, as was notably the case
for a jar of spreadable paste, the container is then reworked
in a more distinctive way : the labelling, the volume and the
shape of the jar are changed to evoke the Galler brand.
The cat's tongues are also the success of a fine team. The
illustrator Philippe Geluck had repeatedly refused the use of
his comic hero in any commercial form. For Galler chocolates,
he made an exception. It is in fact he who created the design
of the sweets, he also who imagined the packaging and who
suggested the idea of a metallic sheath a reminder to the tins
of cat food. He would have even liked to have pushed the
humour to the point of evoking a tin which necessitates the
use of a tin opener, but this idea was abandoned. At Galler,
it’s the passion of the quality and of the detail which comes
first. The brand is present in more than a dozen countries, via
a network of boutiques or prestige names like the Galeries
Lafayette (Paris), Harrods (London), Isetan Department Store
(Tokyo)…
