Edition originale de l’ouvrage principal de Wild, ingénieur en<br />
chef des salines bernoises (1784) et ‘Capitaine des Mines de<br />
l’‘Etat de Berne’. Document de première main pour l’histoire de<br />
la production du sel, les salines de Bex et les montagnes avoisinantes.<br />
L’ouvrage fut traduit en allemand et publié à Nüremberg<br />
en 1793. <strong>Rare</strong> complet avec la carte dépl. sur papier épais et<br />
qui porte comme titre: ‘Carte du Gouvernement d’Aigle levée<br />
topographiquement par Mr. de Rovere A, Père et réduit par Mr.<br />
J. Sam. Grouner, avec des explications pétrographiques (43x47<br />
cm). Carte gravée par Joseph Clausner à Zug. First edition of an<br />
important book on salt-mining in Bex, near Aigle (today Canton<br />
de Vaud in Switzerland), very important for the description of<br />
the mountains around and the included map, which is one of<br />
the first detailed maps of these mountains (Vaud & Valais).<br />
A former owner added a small orig. copper engraving of the<br />
‘Salines du Bex’ by ‘Darnstedt F.’. In all a fine complete copy.<br />

qui ait été publié sur la Grèce; les gravures d’une admirable<br />
finesse, donnent des vues, scènes d’intérieur et champêtres,<br />

initials ‘CA’ (for Carl August) on first covers. Beautiful copy in<br />
grey/brownish boards with red title pieces on spine, some occasional<br />
scattered foxing, but otherwise a very nice uniform set.<br />
