ZAGAR’S “BLOBS” ARE LARGE WORKS
made of colored cement containing
various tiles, folk art, and found
objects. Blobs often feature
elements of a face, which he uses
as a starting point to map out the
rest of his design for a public mural.
He pours the cement onto canvas
and then embeds his tiles and other
objects. Once dried he peels the
blob off the canvas and drills them
onto the surface he mosaics.
