PLUS DONATES 10 PATROL
PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) recently donated 10 Mitsubishi
Lancer GT patrol cars to the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).
PLUS Chairman, Tan Sri Dato’ Mohd Sheriff Mohd Kassim said,
“The vehicles will be used by the Bukit Aman Traffic Division
EMPV unit to conduct rounds and law enforcement on all
PLUS highways.
It is also aimed at assisting police operations on PLUS-operated
highways.
To date, PLUS has donated 121 vehicles consisting of 100 cars,
19 motorcycles and 2 buses to the Police.
“Apart from traffic enforcement, PLUS and PDRM also
collaborate on other highway-related operations such as
preventing crime, vandalism, misuse of emergency lane and
cars to police
joint operations with the Road Transport Department (RTD),
Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) and Domestic
Trade, Cooperatives & Consumerism Ministry,” he added.
The contribution is timely as most of the PLUS-operated
highways, most notably the North-South Expressway will be
used by millions of vehicles during the upcoming Hari Raya
Aidilfitri celebration.
“The presence of more police personnel and patrol cars on
the highways are crucial to assist the public to reach their
destinations safely. It also plays an important role to prevent
misuse of emergency lane which can contribute to accidents
and traffic congestions during peak periods,” Mohd Sheriff said.
20 PERCENT TOLL REBATE
for Aidilfitri and Merdeka holidays
PLUS highway users paying toll electronically will be able to
enjoy 20 percent toll rebate on 5, 6, 14, 15 and 31 August during
the Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Merdeka holidays.
The toll rebate will be given to users paying toll electronically
using the PLUSMiles cards, Touch ‘n Go cards or the SmartTAG
at PLUS-operated highways. It is our way of rewarding our
customers this festive season and is part of our efforts to
encourage the public to switch to electronic toll payment
system which is easier and faster. The move is also part of a
traffic management strategy to disperse traffic and to encourage
people to travel on non-peak days.

Based on studies on travelling trends during the previous festive
seasons, PLUS expects the traffic on the NSE to increase by
30 percent to 1.4 million vehicles every day this Hari Raya and
Merdeka holidays. As such, paying toll electronically will result in
smoother and faster passage at toll plazas.
However, the toll rebate at the Tanjung Kupang, Bukit Kayu Hitam,
Bangunan Sultan Iskandar and the Penang Bridge toll plazas.
The rebate can be redeemed at all PLUS customer service
centres beginning 16 September until 15 December this year.
