Professional Dress for an Interview
While different offices and firms have various dress requirements it is safe to say
that regardless of what firm you work at in the psychology field you will be
expected to dress both conservatively and respectfully. Suits and long suites are
often good and typical clothing for this professional field. Don’t wear flashy
jewelry; it can often give the wrong impression. Short skirts or low cut shorts are
considered inappropriate in an office setting.
There are also rules regarding the way that men dress. Suits are the appropriate
dress for men in the office setting. Ties should also be worn, but not flashy eye
catching ties; these can often draw too much of unwanted attention. The size of
the not in the tie should be of small size and the tie should reach down to the belt
of men’s pants. Men should avoid “high water” pants that do not reach their
shoes. They should never wear polyester suits either.
