v1ABSTRACTILogic analyzer has become a very important instrument used in thedevelopment and troubleshooting of digital oircuits. The purpose of this project is todevelop a low cost personal computer based logic analyzer.Two factors have been considered during the design process of this logicanalyzer; its cost and also the ease of obtaining components. Although the logicanalyzer is of low cost, it has the required functions needed in the process oftroubleshooting digital circuits. The logic analyzer design is easy and practical tobuild. This design permits the modification and expansion of its function with ease,Controlling and data transfer on the logic analyzer is done through the VO cycle ofthe personal computer's microprocessor. This enables the logic analyzer's softwareto be developed in any personal computer's programming language or platform.
