Tribute to Muhammad Ali
Ad aprire la serie “Icons”, che celebra i grandi miti del nostro tempo, è il pugile Muhammad Ali. La
collezione a lui dedicata comprende stilografiche e roller in resina con minuterie in argento o in resina
con minuterie in oro e un’esclusiva edizione “knock-out”, con rifiniture in oro e diamanti. Quest’ultima
è stata insignita dell’illustre riconoscimento “Best of the Best 2011” nella categoria “Penne” dalla pre-
stigiosa rivista americana “Robb Report”.
La penna, caratterizzata da ingegnosi dettagli ispirati al leggendario boxer, è prodotta fondendo insieme
resina bianca madreperlata e resina nero pastello mediante una tecnica conosciuta come “diffusion
bonding”. Il cappuccio è impreziosito dalla firma di quest’uomo straordinario e la scritta “The
Greatest of All Time” (“il più grande di tutti i tempi”) che emerge in alto rilievo sulla testina.
Launching the prestigious “Icons” series that pays tribute to cultural giants, is the boxer Muhammad Ali.
The collection is composed of fountain pens and roller balls in resin with sterling silver trims or in resin
with gold trims, and an exclusive “knock-out “ edition with gold trims and diamonds. The latter has been
selected as “The Best of the Best” Pen in the 23rd annual edition of “Robb Report”, the USA’s most
prestigious luxury journal. Montegrappa has integrated a number of characteristic details of Ali into the
pen, which features the manufacturing technique known as “Diffusion Bonding” allowing the fusion of the
white pearlised resin with the solid black resin. The cap boasts the great man’s signature, with the inscription
“The Greatest of All Time” decorating its summit.
