Quel giorno Carletto allegro si alzò;<br />
“Felici animali a vedere oggi andrò!”<br />
<strong>di</strong>sse, ma grande tristezza provò. Già,<br />
vedendo al<strong>la</strong> fine <strong>la</strong> cruda realtà.<br />
La mucca i vitelli non al<strong>la</strong>ttava,<br />
perché i bambini non volean fare senza<br />
il <strong>la</strong>tte a co<strong>la</strong>zione, e non restava<br />
più nul<strong>la</strong> ai suoi cuccioli. Che violenza!<br />
Che bello razzo<strong>la</strong>re! Doveva<br />
invece <strong>la</strong> gallina, nel<strong>la</strong> gabbia<br />
minusco<strong>la</strong>, vivere, e non poteva avere libertà;<br />
pensate che rabbia, che infelicità.
