The University Honors Program provides opportunities to meet the needs of
intellectually talented and highly motivated students. At the core of the program
is a series of honors classes taught by outstanding faculty, in which learning is
based on personalized and group interaction, with emphasis being placed on
critical thinking and effective communication. Students who participate in the
program may earn recognition in one of two forms: the Honors Certificate, which
requires hours of honors credit; or the University Honors Degree, requiring 0
