Ancora una volta, anche nel 2013, la Corsa dei Due Mari è stata la migliore gara 

italiana per qualità della partecipazione. Già votata dalla stampa internazionale un gioiello 

da lucidare, la Tirreno-Adriatico è seconda soltanto al Tour de France per la presenza dei big. 

Ci sono tutti, dai campioni dei grandi giri ai velocisti, dai cacciatori di classiche ai giovani. 

Normale, direte voi, per una corsa che racchiude in una settimana il manuale per il perfetto 

ciclista. Ma ciò che è straordinaria è proprio la “normalità” dell’assoluto valore di una gara 

che, in un calendario mondiale affollatissimo ai limiti della mancanza di respiro, riesce sempre 

a spiccare. Vent’anni fa, dopo l’età d’oro di Moser e Saronni, De Vlaeminck, Hinault 

e Gimondi, la Corsa dei Due Mari era stata scalzata dalla Parigi-Nizza, e di fatto era 

tornata a essere un festival soltanto italiano. Poi pian piano la capacità della squadra di Mauro 

Vegni, direttore ciclismo Rcs Sport, di proporre percorsi sempre più spettacolari e intriganti, 

senza essere spaccagambe, ha portato in Italia il meglio del mondo. Tanto che, il giorno della 

presentazione dell’edizione 2014, Mauro disse: «Guardate la foto del podio alle mie 

spalle». Primo Vincenzo Nibali, secondo Chris Froome, terzo Alberto Contador. L’unica sconfitta 

di Froome nella stagione d’oro del Tour, tanto per capirci. «Questa non è una gara di preparazione 

alla Sanremo. Non tutti si possono permettere un podio così, ed è questo il suo valore». 

La 49a edizione della Tirreno-Adriatico scatta con una classica cronosquadre a Donoratico, poi 

tappa per velocisti a Cascina, una per scattisti nel centro di storico di Arezzo, la doppietta in 

montagna a Cittareale Selvarotonda e Guardiagrele, ancora velocisti a Porto Sant’Elpidio e crono 

individuale finale a San Benedetto del Tronto. Una corsa più leggera degli ultimi anni (145 

km il chilometraggio medio), ma con due giornate vere: a Cittareale Selvarotonda, 244 

km, distanza tosta, e arrivo in salita di 14 km al 5-6%; a Guardiagrele un Muro di 600 metri al 

25%. Chris Froome, che in Italia è cresciuto, vuole il Tridente.

Once again, in 2013 as well, the “Race of the Two Seas” was the Italian cycling event with 

the highest-quality participants. Already acknowledged by the international press as a jewel we 

need to be proud of, the Tirreno-Adriatico is second only to the Tour de France in terms of big names 

taking part in it. Everyone will be there: grand-tour champions, sprinters, classic-hunters and youngsters. 

You might say this is “business as usual” for a race which represents an actual handbook for the 

perfect rider - in as little as seven days. What is so extraordinary about this is the... ordinary, absolute 

value of a race which is still able to stand out, even in a busy world calendar that leaves almost 

no room to breathe. Twenty years ago, after the golden age of Moser and Saronni, De Vlaeminck, 

Hinault and Gimondi, the Race of the Two Seas was stripped of its role by the Paris-Nice, and went 

back to being just an Italian event. But then, little by little, Mauro Vegni - technical director for cycling 

at Rcs Sport - and his skilful team designed new stage courses, more and more amazing and exciting, 

although not leg-shredding, which brought the best of the world back to Italy. Insomuch that, on the 

day the 2014 edition was unveiled, Mauro proudly said: «Look at the picture of this podium, right 

behind me». Vincenzo Nibali on the top step, Chris Froome, second, and Alberto Contador, third. To 

put it quite simply, this was Froome’s sole defeat in his golden Tour season. «This is not a training 

session in view of the Sanremo. Not all races can boast such a great podium, and that’s what the 

Tirreno is worth». 

The 49th edition of the Tirreno-Adriatico begins with a “classic” team time trial in Donoratico, 

followed by a stage for sprinters in Cascina, one for finisseurs in Arezzo’s old town, two hilltop 

finishes in Cittareale Selvarotonda and Guardiagrele, another stage for sprinters in Porto Sant’Elpidio 

and the final, individual time trial stage in San Benedetto del Tronto. The race is less exhausting 

than in previous years (with an average stage length of 145 km), but it features two 

“queen” stages: a tough, 244-km stage with a 14-km hilltop finish at a 5-6% gradient in Cittareale 

Selvarotonda; plus a 600-m long wall touching on a 25% gradient in Guardiagrele. Chris Froome, who 

grew up in Italy, will aim at the Trident.

A metà strada tra Castagneto Carducci e il mare, sorge Donoratico, vivace località 

turistica nota per il suo borgo e i cantieri navali per imbarcazioni da competizione e 

da diporto. Castagneto è invece uno splendido borgo medievale, in origine Marittimo, e deve 

il suo nome al poeta Giosuè, che qui trascorse parte della sua vita. Qui, le antiche vestigia 

si fondono armoniosamente nella natura, proprio come nella poesia del Carducci, Davanti a 

San Guido: «i cipressi che a Bolgheri alti e schietti van da San Guido in duplice filar». L’abitato 

si sviluppa intorno al Castello Della Gherardesca, edificato intorno all’anno mille. Il paese 

ha vicoli lastricati, terrazze naturali affacciate sul mare e la campagna, deliziose botteghe e 

ottime trattorie. Da vedere il palazzo Pretorio (sede del comune), le Chiese di San Lorenzo e 

del SS. Crocifisso. I numerosi prodotti e piatti tipici sono annaffiati da una Doc eccezionale - e 

autoctona - la Bolgheri, autrice di rossi fermi e di grande struttura, a tutto pasto e anche da 

meditazione. 

Half way between Castagneto Carducci and the sea, stands Donoratico, a lively 

tourist small city known for its shipbuilding yard specialized in competition boat 

crafts and yachting. Castagneto instead is a wonderful Tuscan medieval small village, 

originally “By-the-Sea”, got its name from the poet Giosuè Carducci who spent there a great 

part of his life. Here the ancient vestiges harmoniously merge with the landscape as it does 

in Carducci’s poem Davanti a San Guido: «i cipressi che a Bolgheri alti e schietti van da San 

Guido in duplice filar» (the high cypresses which to Bolgheri proceed in a double tree line 

from San Guido). The built-up area has grown in the neighborhood of the Della Gherardesca, 

Castle which was erected around year thousand. The little town features paved alleys, natural 

terraces facing both the sea and the country, charming little shops and excellent “trattorie” 

(restaurants). Worth to be mentioned are the Pretorio palace (seat of the municipality), and the 

San Lorenzo and SS. Crocifisso churches. The many typical products and dishes are washed 

down with an excellent and local quality wine, the Bolgheri, producer of still red wines with 

great structure, able to match a whole meal but also and nonetheless a mediation wine.

per poi rientrare in strade di ampiezza consueta risalendo verso 

Castagneto Carducci dove si supera il culmine della facile salita. 

Veloce discesa fino al cronometraggio intermedio (km 11,3) in 

località Accattapane che separa la parte più articolata attorno 

a Donoratico dalla seconda composta dai lunghi rettilinei della 

“vecchia” Aurelia fino all’ingresso in San Vincenzo. 

The first part of this team time trial is very indented, while the second 

one features long straight roads. The stage starts from the built-up 

area of Donoratico, with several consecutive turns. After 1 km on 

narrowed roadway, around km 2.2 of racing, the carriageway goes 

back to normal width while going up to Castagneto Carducci, where 

an easy climb is cleared with almost no effort. A quick descent leads 

to the intermediate time-recording point (km 11.3) in Accattapane, 

which separates the first, more indented part of the stage around 

Donoratico, from the second one, featuring the long straights of the 

“ancient” Via Aurelia, up to the entrance in San Vincenzo.

discesa e in piano con lunghi rettilinei 

intervallati da rotatorie o brevi curve. Da 

segnalare la stretta curva a 1400 m che 

immette nel sottopasso ferroviario per 

entrare in San Vincenzo. Ultimo km lungo 

le vie cittadine con brevi strettoie e alcune 

curve ad angolo retto. Rettilineo di arrivo di 

500 m su asfalto, larghezza 7 m. 

The last 5 km are both in light descent 

and on level roads, with long straights, 

interrupted by roundabouts or short bends. 

Beware of a sharp turn, 1.4 km before the 

finish, which leads to the railway underpass 

entering San Vincenzo. The last km rolls 

along city roads, with short bottlenecks and 

some 90-degree turns. 500-m long home 

stretch, on 7-m wide, asphalted roadway.

Affacciato sul mar Ligure - nel tratto di costa a sud di Livorno soprannominato Costa 

degli Etruschi, nome noto nel mondo del ciclismo per l’omonimo gran premio - 

San Vincenzo ha origini molto antiche (paleolitico) per via della posizione privilegiata tra mare, 

fiumi (Cecina e Cornia) e Colline Metallifere. Il toponimo deriva dal nome di una torre costiera 

pisana costruita nel XIII secolo vicino a una chiesa intitolata a San Vincenzo. Di qui passarono 

in molti, per ragioni viarie, minerarie e commerciali: etruschi, romani, longobardi (cui si deve 

il Castello di Biserno), pisani, fiorentini. Proprio gli ultimi due danno vita, nell’agosto del 

1505, a un’importante battaglia presso la torre costiera, conosciuta come la “Battaglia di 

San Vincenzo”, vinta dall’esercito dei Medici e dipinta dal Vasari in un affresco del 

Salone dei Cinquecento di Palazzo Vecchio (1567). Sotto l’ala del Granducato di Toscana 

si arriva all’Unità e ai giorni nostri: San Vincenzo è una nota e apprezzata località balneare 

(bandiera blu senza interruzioni dal 2006), vanta un moderno porto turistico ed è famosa 

per il suo pesce azzurro, come la palamita (“Tutti pazzi per la Palamita” è una rassegna 

enogastronomica che caratterizza il mese di maggio). San Vincenzo è stata sede di arrivo 

e partenza di tappa al Giro d’Italia 1971 (Orvieto-San Vincenzo, vittoria di Felice Gimondi, 

e San Vincenzo-Casciana Terme) e arrivo nel 2008 (partenza a Orvieto) che ha visto primo sul 

traguardo il velocista Daniele Bennati. 

Facing the Ligurian Sea - in the stretch of coastline South of Livourne also known 

as “Costa degli Etruschi” (Etruscan Coast), a well-known name in the cycling world 

for the homonymous Gran Prix - San Vincenzo has very ancient origins (Paleolithic) due 

to its special position between sea, rivers (Cecina and Cornia) and metalliferous hills. The 

place-name comes from the name of a Pisa coastal tower built in the thirteenth century in the 

neighborhood of a church entitled to San Vincenzo. A great number of people passed through 

the country, and thus for various reasons such as transit, mineral resources and commerce: 

they were Etruscan, Roman, Lombard (the Castello di Biserno can be traced back to them), 

and people from Pisa and Florence. The last two were the protagonists of an important battle

fought in August 1505 nearby the coastal tower which is also known as the “Battaglia di 

San Vincenzo”. The victory went to the Medici’s army and has been painted by 

Vasari in frescoes that ornate the “Salone dei Cinquecento” in the Palazzo Vecchio 

(1567). Under the rule of the Grand Duchy of Tuscany, then the Unity of Italy and nowadays: 

San Vincenzo is a well-known and appreciated seaside resort (its beaches deserves the blue 

banner uninterruptedly since 2006), the city is proud of its brand new tourist harbor and is also 

famous for its sardines such as the “Pelamyd” (“Everybody gets crazy for the Pelamyd” is a 

wine and food exhibition which takes place in May). San Vincenzo has been the location 

of the Giro d’Italia 1971 stage’s finish and start (Orvieto-San Vincenzo, the winner being 

Felice Gimondi, and San Vincenzo-Casciana Terme) and also stage’s finish in 2008 (starting 

from Orvieto) when the winner was the sprinter Daniele Bennati.

20,6 km da ripetere 2 volte prima dell’arrivo a Cascina. 

Wavy stage in the first part, and flat at the end. The stage 

profile is more challenging in the first 80 km, with as many as 

3 KOM-climbs (Guardistallo, Montecatini Val di Cecina and 

Lajatico). After the fixed feed zone in Capannoli and the first 

intermediate sprint in Cenaia, the route takes the final 20.6- 

km circuit, to be covered twice before the finish in Cascina.

due volte. È un circuito prevalentemente 

cittadino composto di rettilinei e rotatorie 

con due passaggi sui ponti del Fiume Arno. 

Al primo, in Uliveto Terme, è previsto 

il secondo TV di giornata. Ultima parte 

sostanzialmente rettilinea, ultimo tratto di 

500 m dall’ultima semicurva, su asfalto, 

carreggiata di 7 m. 

The 20.6-km circuit, to be covered twice, starts 

upon the first passage on the finish line in 

Cascina. It is mainly a city circuit, composed of 

straight stretches and roundabouts, and which 

crosses the bridges over the Arno river twice.

Campo di battaglia in una disputa tra fiorentini e pisani nel lontano 1364, Cascina sorge 

sulla riva sinistra dell’Arno. Insediamento etrusco, poi Castrum romano, in tempo medievale è il 

borgo principale sulla strada che collega Firenze e Pisa. 

Il centro storico è molto interessante per le architetture religiose (Pieve di Santa Maria e di San 

Giovanni, Santa Maria Assunta, entrambi esempi di Romanico pisano; il trecentesco Oratorio 

di San Giovanni Battista), militari (parte della cinta muraria, all’epoca a pianta pentagonale; la 

torre dell’orologio, simbolo cittadino), e civili (ville e palazzi). La bravura degli artigiani locali 

nella lavorazione del legno risale al Rinascimento ma è nel secolo scorso che i cascinesi si 

trasformano in mobilieri di successo e, in tempi più recenti, si specializzano nella realizzazione di 

interni di navi e yacht. Insieme al legno si è sviluppata anche l’attività edilizia e tessile. 

Nel 1978, Cascina ha ospitato l’arrivo della terza tappa del Giro d’Italia, vincitore e maglia 

rosa di giornata il belga Johan De Muynck.

Cascina, located on the left bank of the Arno River, was the scene of a battle between 

the armies of Pisa and Florence away back in 1364. Initially an Etruscan settlement, then 

a Roman Castrum (great legionary encampment), in the Middle Ages it became the main village 

on the road linking Florence and Pisa. The old town is very interesting and fascinating, both for 

its religious (Pieve di Santa Maria e di San Giovanni, Santa Maria Assunta, both examples of 

Pisan Romanesque art; the Oratorio di San Giovanni Battista, dating back to the 14th century), 

and military buildings (part of the medieval walls which, at that time, had a pentagonal plan; 

the clock tower, a symbol of the city), as well as for its villas and palaces in the city centre and 

in the surrounding hamlets. The city’s talented carpenters were already known for their 

woodworking skills back in Renaissance times, but it was in the last century that the 

inhabitants of Cascina turned into successful furniture makers and, more recently, specialized in 

interior furnishings for yachts and ships. Construction and textile arts have thrived as well, together 

with woodworking. In 1978, Cascina was finish city for Giro d’Italia stage 3. The Belgian rider 

Johan De Muynck was the winner (and Pink Jersey) of the day.

Tappa di oltre 200 km con poche difficoltà lungo il percorso. 

Due GPM nella prima parte posti a San Casciano Val di Pesa 

e Poggio alla Croce e un TV a Castelfranco di Sopra, prima 

del rifornimento fisso a Loro Ciuffenna. Il finale diventa 

quindi più complesso e mosso sia planimetricamente sia 

altimetricamente e presenta due circuiti in sequenza. Il primo 

da percorrere una volta e il secondo tre volte. Dopo Laterina, 

si attraversa Indicatore e si raggiunge Arezzo per lunghi 

rettilinei, e allo stesso modo si torna a Indicatore dove è posto 

il secondo TV di giornata (circuito lungo 24,8 km). Ritornando 

ad Arezzo ci si immette nel circuito finale di 11 km.

course and profile, with two

be covered once, and the second 

one three times). After passing 

Laterina, the stage course runs 

across Indicatore; long, straight 

roads lead to Arezzo and back 

to Indicatore, where the second 

intermediate sprint is set (24.8- 

km circuit). On the way back to 

Arezzo, the route takes the final 

11-km circuit. 

Circuito finale cittadino. Discesa veloce con 

una serie di ampie curve fino a raggiungere 

la zona dello stadio. Si percorre quindi la 

ss.73 fino a 3 km dall’arrivo dove si entra 

nel centro cittadino con alcuni passaggi 

tra strade con spartitraffico e rotatorie. 

Da segnalare dopo l’ultimo km due curve 

a destra su ampie rotatorie e il passaggio 

attraverso una porta medievale. Inizia quindi 

un breve tratto ripido di salita che porta 

(prima su asfalto e poi su lastricato) al 

rettilineo finale sempre in ascesa (circa 5%) 

di 200 m, largo 6 m su lastricato.

the centre and winds along the city roads, 

with traffic islands and roundabouts. With 

one kilometer to go, the route features two 

right-hand bends on wide roundabouts, and 

crosses a medieval gate. A short, steep uphill 

sector leads (first on asphalted roadway, then 

on stone slabs) to the uphill 200-m home 

stretch (with a gradient around 5%) on 6-m 

wide, stone-paved roadway.

Tra Valdarno, Val di Chiana e il Casentino sorge Arezzo, fondata nel IX secolo dagli 

Etruschi con il nome di Aritim. Risale proprio a questo periodo una delle più importanti opere 

d’arte del popolo tusco, la Chimera, conservata nel Museo archeologico nazionale di Firenze 

ma, a tutti gli effetti, simbolo aretino. Il centro storico è un museo a cielo aperto con chiese 

e palazzi che “nascondono” tesori del Cimabue, Piero della Francesca, Andrea della Robbia e 

Giorgio Vasari. Su tutti il Duomo, la Chiesa di San Domenico, la Basilica di San Francesco, la 

Chiesa della Santissima Annunziata e Santa Maria delle Grazie. Sempre all’interno della cinta 

muraria si trova la Fortezza Medicea, punto panoramico tra i migliori della città. Oltre ad 

aver dato i natali al poeta Francesco Petrarca (autore del Canzoniere), Arezzo ha conosciuto 

una fama internazionale grazie al film premio Oscar di Roberto Benigni, La vita è bella, le cui 

scene iniziali sono interamente girate nella zona monumentale. Ad Arezzo si svolge ogni giugno 

(quest’anno il 21) e settembre (il 7) la Giostra del Saracino, rievocazione medievale che vede

Arezzo, located among Valdarno, Val di Chiana and the Casentino, was founded 

in the 9th century by the Etruscans, who named it Aritim. One of the most important 

works of art of the Etruscan people, the “Chimera”, dates back to those times. Despite it 

being conserved in the Museo Archeologico Nazionale (National Archaeological Museum) of 

Florence, it is actually a symbol of Arezzo. The old town is an open-air museum, with churches 

and buildings “concealing” masterpieces by Cimabue, Piero della Francesca, Andrea della 

Robbia and Giorgio Vasari, above all the Duomo, the church of San Domenico, the Basilica 

of San Francesco, the churches of Santissima Annunziata and Santa Maria delle Grazie. 

The city walls enclose the Fortezza Medicea, one of the best panoramic viewpoints of the 

city. Besides being home town to the poet Francesco Petrarca, author of “Il Canzoniere” 

(“Songbook”), Arezzo became internationally renowned thanks to Roberto Benigni’s Oscarwinning 

movie, La vita è bella (Life is beautiful), whose opening sequences are shot entirely 

in the monument area. Every year, in June (21st this year) and in September (7th), Arezzo 

hosts the Giostra del Saracino, a reenactment of a mediaeval jousting tournament between

Decentrata, posta a poco meno di 8 chilometri dal capoluogo, la frazione di 

Indicatore fa parte del territorio del comune di Arezzo, che ha dimensioni molto ampie, 

visto che di frazioni ne contempla ben 99. La cucina che è possibile gustare a Indicatore 

risente degli influssi della vicina Umbria e delle altre aree interne della Toscana: 

pollame e carne di maiale, spinaci e fagioli, ricotta e formaggio pecorino, olio di oliva e noce 

moscata la caratterizzano. Antipasti prelibati sono i crostini neri con battuto di carne, fegato, 

acciughe, capperi, o la crostata di ceci con il prosciutto del Casentino. Tra i primi l’Acquacotta 

(minestra di pane con uova, formaggio grattugiato e brodo di funghi) e la Panzanella (pane 

bagnato mescolato con cipolle, cetrioli e pomodori, condito con olio e aceto). Un secondo 

piatto da gustare è la Scottiglia, miscuglio di carni varie, cotte in una pentola di coccio con 

pomodori, verdure e odori diversi. Tra i vini rifulgono il Chianti dei Colli Aretini e il Bianco 

Vergine di Valdichiana. 

Decentralized, located at approximately 8 kilometers from the chief town, the 

Indicatore hamlet belongs to the territory of the municipality of Arezzo which is very 

wide since it hosts 99 hamlets. Speaking of cooking experiences in Indicatore you 

will taste foods which are influenced by the neighboring Umbria region, as well as 

from the other internal places of the Tuscany region: poultry and pork meat, spinach 

and beans, ricotta and pecorino cheese, olive oil and nutmeg are characteristic features. 

Black croutons with chopped meat, liver, anchovies, capers or the chick peas jam tart with the 

Casentino ham are delicious appetizers. Among first courses we would like to mention the 

famous “Acquacotta” (a bread soup with eggs, grated cheese and mushrooms broth) and the 

“Panzanella” (wet bread melted with onions, cucumbers and tomatoes, seasoned with oil and 

vinegar). As an interesting entrée the “Scottiglia” which is a blend of several meats, cooked in 

an earthenware pot with tomatoes, vegetables and spices needs a special mention. Speaking 

about wines the “Chianti dei Colli Aretini” (red wine) and the “Bianco Vergine di Valdichiana” 

(white wine) are both worth being considered.

È la tappa di montagna della Tirreno Adriatico 2014 e con i 

suoi 244 km è anche la più lunga. Prima parte, fino a Spoleto, 

pianeggiante o leggermente ondulata, su strade a carreggiata 

normale, ma con fondo spesso usurato. Si attraversano 

Castiglion Fiorentino, Castiglion del Lago, Bevagna (dove è posto 

il Rifornimento fisso) per giungere a Spoleto dove è situato il 

primo TV della tappa. Dopo Spoleto si affrontano in sequenza la 

Forca di Cerro (GPM) e Forca Capistrello. Dopo Leonessa breve 

salita fino a Albaneto per raggiungere Posta e immettersi nella 

vecchia Salaria da cui in Località Pallottini si stacca la salita 

finale di 14 km. 

This is the mountain stage of the 2014 edition of the Tirreno- 

Adriatico, and the longest one as well (244 km). The first part, up 

to Spoleto, is flat or just slightly wavy, on regular-width roadways, 

with often a worn-out surface. The stage course runs through 

Castiglion Fiorentino, Castiglion del Lago, and Bevagna (where 

the fixed feed zone is located) before reaching Spoleto, where the 

first intermediate sprint of the stage has been set. After crossing 

Spoleto, the route climbs up Forca di Cerro (KOM) and Forca 

Capistrello. After passing Leonessa, a short climb leads to Albaneto, 

the course then reaches Posta and takes the ancient Via Salaria; 

from here (Località Pallottini) the final 14-km climb begins.

è posta la linea di arrivo. Ultimi 2 km 

tra il 7% e l’8%. Rettilineo d’arrivo 

di circa 100 m su fondo asfaltato 

largo 6 m.

gradient increases gently, little by 

little as kilometers go by. The route 

features 7 hairpin bends and, with 

about 9 km to the finish, it crosses 

the built-up area of Cittareale, to 

reach the ski resort where the finish 

line has been set. The last 2 km have 

a gradient of 7-8%. The home stretch 

is about 100-m long, on 6-m wide, 

asphalted roadway.

Cittareale è un piccolo comune in provincia di Rieti, a due passi da Amatrice e dal 

Terminillo, cima simbolo dell’Alto Lazio. Immaginando la regione come un sommergibile, 

ci troviamo all’estremità del periscopio, tra i confini di Marche, Abruzzo e Umbria; in piena Valle 

Falacrina, da cui prese il nome il primo insediamento romano, Vicus Phalacrinae, celebre per 

aver dato i natali a ben tre imperatori: Tito Flavio Vespasiano, fondatore della dinastia Flavia e 

padre di Tito e Domiziano, anch’essi regnanti. La zona è infatti ricca di reperti dell’epoca romana, 

alcuni dei quali sono esposti al Museo Civico di Cittareale, inaugurato nel 2009 in occasione del 

bimillenario della nascita di Vespasiano. Il quale, secondo le testimonianze di Svetonio, tassò gli 

orinatoi pubblici che, da quel momento, presero a essere chiamati come l’Imperatore. Cittareale, 

secondo gli storici, nasce durante il XIV secolo, come fusione di diversi nuclei abitati, tra cui l’antica 

Falacrine. Simbolo cittadino l’omonima Rocca, ricostruita diverse volte nel corso dei secoli, l’ultima 

nel 1479 da parte degli aragonesi. Ristrutturata e messa in sicurezza, è in parte visitabile. 

L’economia del paese si basa sui vicini impianti di Selvarotonda, 11 km di piste alle 

pendici del Monte San Venanzio. 

Cittareale is a small municipality in the province of Rieti, just a stone’s throw away from 

Amatrice and Mount Terminillo, the iconic summit of Upper Latium. If we pictured the region 

as being a submarine, we would find ourselves at the edge of the periscope, enclosed between 

Marche, Abruzzo and Umbria, at the heart of Valle Falacrina, after which the first Roman settlement 

was named. Vicus Phalacrinae was renowned for being the birthplace of three emperors: Vespasian, 

founder of the Flavian dynasty and father to Titus and Domitian, who, in turn, became emperors too. 

The area is actually rich of archaeological finds, dating back to Roman times, some of which are on 

display in the Museo Civico di Cittareale. The museum was inaugurated in 2009, year marking the 

bimillennial anniversary of the birth of Vespasian who, according to Suetonius’ accounts, is said 

to have introduced a tax on public toilets that, as of that moment, were named after the emperor 

(vespasiani). The city’s symbol is the homonymous castle (Rocca), which was rebuilt several times 

throughout the centuries, the last time by the Aragonese in 1479. It was renovated and secured, 

and it can now be visited (although not entirely). The economy of the city mainly relies on the 

Selvarotonda ski resort nearby: 11 km of slopes on Monte San Venanzio sides.

Al confine tra Lazio, Umbria, Marche e Abruzzo, edificata tra il fiume Tronto e il Castellano, 

Amatrice conosce una moderna notorietà per aver dato il nome a un sugo per la pasta 

originariamente a base di guanciale e pecorino - ora noto come “gricia”, e in tempi recenti 

guarnito con pomodoro e olio d’oliva - diventato un classico della cucina laziale. 

Il centro storico ha come simbolo la Torre civica (XIII secolo) e le chiese dedicate a Sant’Agostino 

(XV secolo) e San Francesco (XIV secolo). Amatrice è la porta laziale al Parco Nazionale 

del Gran Sasso: val la pena affrontare il percorso turistico ambientale “Il Parco in miniatura”, 

presso il giardino pubblico. Per tornare alla gastronomia, la vicinanza dei pascoli dei Monti della 

Laga garantisce sulla qualità della carne e dei salumi (guanciale, prosciutto, lonza, pancetta, 

salami), dei prodotti caseari (pecorino e ricotta soprattutto) e dell’acqua. Acqua con cui si 

cucinano gli Gnocchi ricci, considerato il più antico dei piatti amatriciani, normalmente condito 

con spezzatino di castrato di pecora, o macinato di maiale e vitellone. 

The city lies on the border between Latium, Umbria, Marche and Abruzzo, built between the 

Tronto and Castellano rivers. Amatrice is renowned for being the city after which a 

traditional pasta sauce is named. Originally based on guanciale (pig’s cheek lard) and 

Pecorino cheese (a condiment nowadays called “gricia”), amatriciana sauce has recently been 

made tastier and richer by adding tomato and olive oil, and has become a classic in Latium 

cuisine. The 13th-century Torre Civica is the symbol of the old town, together with the churches

Latium’s gateway to the Gran Sasso National Park: the environmental and tourist route 

“Il Parco in miniatura” within the Public Garden is worth a visit. Speaking of food tradition, the 

close pastures on Monti della Laga ensure the highest quality of local meat and charcuterie 

(guanciale, ham, pork loin, pancetta - Italian bacon - and salami), dairy products (especially 

Pecorino and Ricotta cheese) and water, the latter being very important for preparing “Gnocchi 

ricci”, which are considered to be the most ancient dish of Amatrice’s cuisine, normally 

seasoned with mutton stew or with pork and baby-beef mince.

Profilo salita / Climb profile 

Inizio molto articolato tra curve e controcurve in un 

susseguirsi di saliscendi prima e dopo il Lago di Campotosto 

(unico piano della prima parte). Dopo il Passo delle 

Capannelle lunga discesa su L’Aquila e conseguente 

susseguirsi di lunghi rettilinei (attorno a San Pio delle 

Camere rifornimento fisso) fino alle svolte di Popoli dove 

terminata la discesa ci si immette nella ss.5 in direzione 

Pescara. Lasciata la ss. 5 in direzione Passo Lanciano si 

superano in rapida successione i due TV di Manoppello 

e Lettomanoppello, prima della salita di 11 km che porta 

al GPM. Finale molto veloce fino alla base del Muro di 

Guardiagrele che immette negli ultimi 750 m. 

The stage course is initially very indented, marked by 

several twists and turns, and ups and downs, both before 

and after Lago di Campotosto (the only flat sector in 

the first part). After crossing Passo delle Capannelle, 

a long descent leads to L’Aquila (the fixed feed zone 

is set around San Pio delle Camere). A series of long, 

straight stretches then leads to Svolte di Popoli. After 

the descent, the route takes the ss. 5 towards Pescara. 

While heading towards Passo Lanciano, the route then 

leaves the ss. 5 and reaches two intermediate sprints, set 

in close succession in Manoppello and Lettomanoppello, 

before the 11-km climb leading to the KOM. The final part 

of the stage is very quick, until the Muro di Guardiagrele, 

which leads to the last 750 m.

Guardiagrele, in provincia di Chieti e sede del Parco nazionale della Majella, è inserita 

nella speciale lista dei Borghi più belli d’Italia. Famosa per l’artigianato, in particolare dei 

metalli nobili, ogni agosto dà appuntamento per la Mostra dell’Artigianato artistico abruzzese, 

evento che si rinnova ogni anno nelle prime tre settimane di agosto. Belle le chiese del centro 

storico, in particolare Santa Maria Maggiore (realizzata in pietra della Majella, XIII secolo), San 

Francesco (XII secolo) e San Nicola di Bari (IV secolo). Simbolo cittadino il Torrione Orsini 

(o longobardo), il cui nome deriva dalla famiglia di feudatari medievali che dominò (battendo 

anche moneta) Guardiagrele fino al XIV secolo. Altre vestigia del passato le Porte San Giovanni, 

San Pietro, del Vento (o di Grele) e le torri Adriana, Stella, San Pietro, del Gastaldo. La zona di 

Guardiagrele è ottima sia per la coltivazione di ulivi (Dop “Colline Teatine”) sia per la viticoltura, 

con ottime produzioni di Montepulciano (rosso) e Trebbiano d’Abruzzo (bianco). 

La città è inoltre nota per la produzione dolciaria: Sise delle monache, Torrone mandorlato, 

Amaretti e paste di mandorla le specialità. 

Guardiagrele - in the province of Chieti - is the seat of the Majella National Park, and 

is part of a special list of the most beautiful burghs in Italy. It is renowned for handicraft, 

especially for noble metal crafting. Every year, in the first three weeks of August, the town hosts 

the Mostra dell’Artigianato Artistico Abruzzese (the local handicrafts trade fair). Old town churches 

are a pleasure to the eye, especially Santa Maria Maggiore (built with Majella stones, 13th 

century), San Francesco (12th century) and San Nicola di Bari (4th century). Torrione Orsini (or 

Longobardo) stands as a symbol for the town. It is named after the family of medieval lords 

which ruled Guardiagrele until the 14th century (minting their own coins). Among the other remains 

of the past are several gates - Porta San Giovanni, Porta San Pietro, Porta del Vento (or Porta di 

Grele) - and towers - Torre Adriana, Torre Stella, Torre San Pietro, and Torre del Gastaldo. The 

excellent olive groves and vineyards in Guardiagrele yield outstanding produce, such as “Colline 

Teatine” DOP olive oil, Montepulciano red wine and Trebbiano d’Abruzzo white wine. Furthermore, 

the city is renowned for its confectionery production: Sise delle monache (“Nun’s breasts”, 

domed sponge cakes with cream filling), Torrone mandorlato (almond nougat), Amaretti (almondflavored 

cookies) and almond paste delis.

Ultimi chilometri 6 km in discesa fino a 3 km dall’arrivo dove 

inizia l’ascesa finale. 1.600 m al 5,5% per raggiungere la base 

del Muro di Guardiagrele seguiti dalla durissima ascesa. Il Muro 

misura 610 m con un dislivello di 133 m e una pendenza media 

del 22,2% e con punte nella prima parte del 30% e, nell’interno 

dell’ultima curva, attorno al 29%. Terminato il Muro breve 

falsopiano a scendere seguito da una curva a “U” che immette 

nel rettilineo finale (media attorno al 9% con punte del 12%). 

Dall’ultima curva all’arrivo si contano circa 250 m su fondo in 

asfalto, larghezza 5,5 m. 

The final part of the stage features 6 km of descent, up to 3 km 

from the finish, where the final ascent begins: 1,600 m with a 5.5% 

gradient, reaching up to the base of the Muro di Guardiagrele, 

followed by a very steep climb. The “Muro” is 610-m long, with a 

133-m rise and an average gradient of 22.2%, with peaks of 30% in 

the first part, and around 29% in the last bend. After the Muro, the 

downhill course features a short stretch of apparently flat ground, 

followed by a U-turn, which leads to the home stretch (avg. gradient 

around 9%, with peaks of 12%). The distance from the last bend to 

the finish line is around 250 m on asphalted roadway. The width of 

the finish is 5.5 m.

Su un colle in provincia di Chieti sorge Bucchianico, il cui panorama va dalla Majella 

fino al mar Adriatico. Di interesse storico alcuni palazzi patrizi, come De Lellis, La Valletta (XVII 

secolo), Pietrantonj (XVIII secolo), Corsi (XVII secolo) e Santuario e Convento dedicati a San Camillo 

de Lellis (XVII secolo), religioso del cinquecento fondatore dell’Ordine dei Camiliani, proclamato santo 

nel 1746 da Benedetto XIV. L’anno scorso, il 14 luglio, si è festeggiato il IV centenario dalla morte. 

Altra ricorrenza cara alla cittadinanza è la Festa dei Banderesi (18-24 maggio 2014), rievocazione 

storica di un assedio subito nel XIV secolo. Fu Sant’Urbano ad accorrere in soccorso della cittadina: 

in sogno consigliò al capo della milizia di far correre i pochi uomini sui merli delle mura per far 

sembrare più numeroso l’esercito. Il trucco funzionò e gli assedianti (pare i Teatini, i cittadini di Chieti) 

desistettero. Momento clou della rappresentazione è la “Ciammaichella”, che consiste 

nel percorrere a zig zag e in corteo la piazza del paese. Il territorio circostante è dedicato 

principalmente alla coltivazione degli ulivi e dell’uva ma Bucchianico è nota anche per i fichi 

(nelle varietà brogiotto, negricello, moro e reale) e le zucchine. 

Bucchianico rises on a hill in the province of Chieti, with a breathtaking view from the 

Majella massif to the Adriatic Sea. Among the historic places, let us mention some patrician 

palaces such as De Lellis, La Valletta (17th century), Pietrantonj (18th century) and Corsi (17th 

century), together with the sanctuary and monastery dedicated to San Camillo de Lellis (17th 

century), a 16th-century priest who founded the Order of the Camillians, who was canonized by Pope 

Benedict XIV in 1746. The 400th anniversary of his death was celebrated on July 14 last year. 

Another important anniversary for the townspeople is the Festa dei Banderesi (18-24 May 2014), 

which commemorates the siege of the town in the 14th century. Sant’Urbano came to the city’s aid: 

he appeared in a dream to the army chef, advising him to deploy his very few soldiers over the city 

walls, and making them run around, so that the enemies would think the army was actually stronger. 

It worked, and the besiegers (apparently the inhabitants of Chieti) gave up. The climax of this 

commemoration is the “Ciammaichella”, a parade running in zigzags through the town’s square. 

The surrounding territory is mainly dedicated to olive trees and grapes cultivations (especially 

Montepulciano and Trebbiano vines), but Bucchianico is also renowned for figs (in different cultivars: 

brogiotto, negricello, moro and reale) and courgettes.

Tappa nettamente divisa in due parti. La prima lineare lungo 

l’Adriatico fino alle porte di Porto Sant’Elpidio; la seconda più 

articolata con un circuito finale da ripetere 2 volte. Nella prima 

parte si supera una breve asperità nei primissimi chilometri 

per attraversare Chieti (GPM) per poi percorrere la statale 

Adriatica in direzione Nord. Rifornimento Fisso a Martinsicuro 

e primo TV a Porto San Giorgio. Dopo il Lido di Fermo si 

scala la breve salita di Capodarco per rientrare sulla statale 

Adriatica e raggiungere, in salita (pendenze basse), il GPM di 

Sant’Elpidio a Mare da dove si supera la linea di arrivo per il 

primo passaggio e l’inizio dei due giri di circuito finali.

The fixed feed zone is located 

in Martinsicuro and the first 

intermediate sprint is set in Porto 

San Giorgio. After passing Lido 

di Fermo, the route goes up the 

short Capodarco climb, and then 

back to the Adriatica national 

road, then it gently climbs up 

towards the KOM in Sant’Elpidio 

a Mare. From here, the stage 

course gets to the finish line for 

the first passage, which marks 

the beginning of the two laps 

over the final circuit.

articolata, mentre gli ultimi 6 km sono 

praticamente rettilinei. Dopo l’arrivo ci si 

reimmette nella statale Adriatica per risalire 

verso la zona industriale. Si ritorna ancora 

sulla statale e si attraversa tutto il centro 

cittadino. Ai 1.600 m le due ultime curve 

(destra-destra) intervallate da un sottopasso 

portano al rettilineo finale di 1.500 m largo 

7,5 m su asfalto.

After crossing the finish line, the course 

takes the Adriatica national road again, 

then it runs up towards the industrial zone. 

The route goes back to the state road and 

crosses the entire city centre. With 1,600 m 

to the finish, the last two bends (both righthand 

bends), separated by an underpass, 

lead to the home stretch: 1,500 m on 7.5-m 

wide, asphalted roadway.

Comune marchigiano in provincia di Fermo, Porto Sant’Elpidio è famoso per la 

produzione di calzature da donna. Nonostante i ritrovamenti di sepolture etrusche, la 

cittadina è relativamente giovane (XVI secolo) e dopo secoli come semplice borgo marinaro - 

completo di torre di avvistamento per contrastare gli attacchi dei pirati, ora ribattezzata Torre 

dell’orologio - si guadagna l’indipendenza comunale solo negli anni Cinquanta del secolo 

scorso. Interessanti, a livello storico, le Ville Murri, Maroni, Baruchello e Fanny, quest’ultima 

non visitabile, e la Chiesa dell’Annunziata, edificata nel 1823 per volere del Cardinale 

Cesare Brancadoro. Il menu locale è tutto a base di pesce, a partire dalla ricetta locale del 

brodetto. Ottimo, come olio, il piantone di Falerone; tra i dolci il frustingo, preparato nel 

periodo natalizio, la cicerchiata, le frittelle e le sfrappe (tutti fritti), senza dimenticare biscotti 

e ciambellani che si uniscono - durante l’autunno - a castagne e vino cotto. Città di tappa 

del Giro d’Italia nel 1992 (vittoria in volata di Mario Cipollini) e nel 2012 (Miguel 

Angel Rubiano, Col). 

Porto Sant’Elpidio is a municipality of the Marches region in the Fermo Province, 

widely renown for the production of ladies’ shoes. In spite of the discovery of Etruscan 

burial places, the little town is rather young as it only dates back to the sixteenth century. After 

centuries spent as a simple fishermen’s village - with its sighting tower (nowadays renamed 

Torre dell’Orologio) to prevent attacks by pirates, the city earned only in the Fifties of the past 

century its municipal independence. From an historical point of view, worth of interest are the 

Murri, Maroni, Baruchello and Fanny mansions (the latter cannot be visited) and the Annunziata 

Church erected in 1823 by will of Cardinal Cesare Brancadoro. 

The local menu is based on fish beginning with the typical “brodetto” recipe. The “piantone 

di Falerone” is an exquisite olive oil; among desserts we may suggest the “frustingo” a 

Christmas specialty, the “cicerchiata”, the deep fried fritters and “sfrappe”, without omitting 

cookies and doughnuts which - in fall season - pleasantly mix with chestnuts and hot wine.Giro 

d’Italia stage’s finish in 1992 (Mario Cipollini) and in 2012 (Miguel Angel Rubiano, Col).

San Benedetto del Tronto, una delle maggiori città rivierasche dell’Adriatico, gode 

di giusta fama come centro industriale e commerciale ma si fregia anche del titolo 

di “regina del turismo marchigiano”. Fa infatti parte della “Riviera delle Palme”, il tratto 

costiero che include i comuni di San Benedetto, Grottammare e Cupra Marittima, tutti oggetto 

di grande attenzione turistica, italiana e internazionale. Né vanno dimenticati i monti che la 

“proteggono”, dal Vettore al Gran Sasso d’Italia alla Majella. Alcuni reperti archeologici 

ritrovati sulla sponda destra del fiume Albula ascrivono ai romani l’origine di San Benedetto. Contesa 

a lungo fra Ascoli e Fermo, vessata da saccheggi e devastazioni, San Benedetto fatica a espandersi 

sul mare, almeno fino al XVII secolo. La svolta viene dalla costruzione della linea ferroviaria adriatica 

(1863) che prelude all’apertura dei primi stabilimenti balneari, sorti a fine secolo. Del 1896, per Regio 

decreto, la denominazione aggiuntiva “del Tronto”. Negli anni ’30, tra i diversi lavori di sistemazione 

viene approntato anche il viale a mare largo 30 metri: ai tempi giudicato spropositato, è oggi uno dei 

più ampi e maestosi d’Italia. Di recentissima apertura il Museo della Civiltà Marinara nelle Marche, 

che completa il “Polo museale del Mare”, all’interno del porto. Si affianca infatti al Museo 

delle Anfore e all’Ittico Caprotti. Personaggi che hanno illustrato San Benedetto sono Giuseppe 

Sacconi, cui si deve il monumento romano del Vittoriano; Bice Piacentini, poetessa in vernacolo 

sanbenedettese e il celebre fumettista Andrea Pazienza (Paz), cui la città ha dedicato una piazza. 

Vanti culinari di San Benedetto sono il brodetto, pregevole zuppa di pesce con peperoni e aceto, 

piccante al punto giusto, le fritture (olive all’ascolana, cremini) e i numerosi piatti di pesce e carne, 

da accompagnare con il Falerio dei Colli, acidulo, secco, da bere giovane, perfetto per molluschi e 

crostacei, o l’Offida. Il Rosso Piceno, variante Superiore, trionfa con le carni. 

San Benedetto del Tronto, one of the most important town on the Adriatic Riviera, enjoys 

a well-deserved reputation as industrial and business centre, but also boasts the title of 

“queen of tourism of the Marches region”. The city is actually part of the “Riviera delle Palme”, 

or “Palm tree Riviera”, the segment of coastline that includes the townships of San Benedetto, 

Grottammare and Cupra Marittima, all well-known Italian and international tourism targets.

To say nothing of the mountains which “watch” over the city, from Vettore to the Gran 

Sasso d’Italia and the Majella. Based on some archeological finds on the right bank of the 

Albula river, the origin of San Benedetto can be ascribed to the Romans. Contended for a long 

time between Ascoli and Fermo, harassed by pillage and devastation, San Benedetto had a hard 

time to expand towards the sea, at least until the seventeenth century. The turning point came 

with the construction of the Adriatic railway (1863) introducing the opening of the first bathing 

establishments (lido) which sprang up at the end of the century. In 1896 the adjunction of “del 

Tronto” to the city name was made by Royal Decree. In the thirties of the eighteenth century, a 

great number of public works took place including the construction of a 30 meters wide seaside 

promenade. At that time it was considered as an exaggeration, but nowadays this promenade 

is one of the largest and more imposing seafront in Italy. A Museum dedicated to the Marine 

Civilization in the Marches Province has been recently inaugurated, and is due to complement the 

“Sea Museum Pole” on the premises of the port facilities. Actually this Museum is situated in 

a position close to the Amphora’s Museum and the Caprotti Ittico. Among the famous people who 

gave fame to San Benedetto we shall mention Giuseppe Sacconi, who built the “Vittoriano”, 

one of the most important monument in the city of Rome; Bice Piacentini, a vernacular poetess, 

and finally the well known cartoonist Andrea Pazienza (Paz), who died in young age and had his 

name given to a city square. The San Benedetto culinary specialties are essentially the “brodetto” 

a fine and slightly spicy fish soup made with bell pepper and vinegar, fried foods such as “olive

Cronometro individuale di 9.150 m, su un percorso che 

ricalca in gran parte il circuito finale delle tappe conclusive 

degli ultimi anni ‘90 e 2000. La partenza è posta sulla 

Banchina dello Scalo di Alaggio e si procede verso 

Porto d’Ascoli lungo il mare. Da Piazza Salvo d’Acquisto 

(cronometraggio intermedio - km 4,7) si risale fino a San 

Benedetto del Tronto dove la corsa termina sul traguardo 

tradizionale di viale Buozzi. Gli ultimi 2,5 km sono 

praticamente rettilinei. 

Individual time trial of 9,150 m, on a route which mainly 

follows the final circuit of the conclusive stages of the 

late 90s and recently in the 2000s. The start is located on 

the wharf of Scalo di Alaggio, and riders proceed towards 

Porto d’Ascoli along the sea. From Piazza Salvo d’Acquisto 

(intermediate time recording - km 4.7), riders climb again 

towards San Benedetto del Tronto where the race ends on 

the traditional home stretch in Viale Buozzi. The last 2.5 km 

are almost on straight ground.

ART. 3 - Partecipazione 

Secondo l’articolo 2.1.005 UCI, alla gara 

sono iscritti gli UCI Pro Teams e su invito 

gli UCI Professsional Continental Teams. In 

conformità con l’art. 2.2.003 UCI il numero 

massimo di corridori per squadra è di 8 

(otto) e quello minimo 5 (cinque). 

In ogni caso l’Organizzazione al fine di salvaguardare 

l’immagine e la reputazione 

della propria gara, si riserva il diritto di rifiutare, 

fino al momento della partenza, i corridori 

o i gruppi sportivi che con i propri atti o 

dichiarazioni dimostrassero di venire meno 

ai principi di lealtà sportiva, agli impegni 

assunti e previsti dal paragrafo 1.1.023 del 

regolamento UCI. 

Inoltre nel caso che i corridori o il gruppo 

sportivo venissero meno nel corso della manifestazione, 

ai principi di cui al precedente 

capoverso, l’Ente Organizzatore si riserva 

anche il diritto di escluderli dalla corsa in 

qualsiasi momento.

Gli accrediti ufficiali ed i preliminari sono 

programmati a Donoratico in Via Mazzini 37 

presso la sede del Circolo Arci - Casa del 

Popolo dalle ore 10.00 alle ore 18.00 di martedì 

11 marzo 2014. La conferma dei partenti 

ed il ritiro dei numeri di gara da parte 

dei direttori sportivi si svolgeranno presso il 

Quartiertappa dalle ore 15.00 alle 16.45 di 

martedì 11 marzo. Nello stesso giorno alle 

ore 17.00, sempre presso il Quartiertappa, 

si svolgerà la riunione della Direzione 

dell’Organizzazione con i commissari di giuria 

e i direttori sportivi, organizzata secondo 

l’art. 1.2.087 UCI. Alle ore 17.45 seguirà la 

riunione con i fotografi, cameramen e Polizia 

Stradale, art. 2.2.034 bis UCI. 

ART. 5 - Radioinformazioni 

Le informazioni in corsa sono diffuse sulla 

frequenza di 149,850 MHz. 

ART. 6 - Assistenza tecnica 

Il servizio di assistenza tecnica è assicurato 

da VITTORIA con 3 vetture 

ART. 7 - Servizio sanitario 

Il servizio sanitario, designato dalla Direzione, 

è diretto da personale medico e paramedico 

in numero adeguato; è operativo 

durante lo svolgimento della corsa ed è

anche a disposizione prima della partenza 

e dopo l’arrivo di ogni tappa. All’occorrenza 

i medici sono gli unici responsabili 

del trasporto dei corridori presso i presidi 

ospedalieri, indicati per ogni tappa nella 

Guida Tecnica. In corsa, le cure mediche di 

particolare impegno o durante le salite, dovranno 

essere prestate da fermo. Inoltre al 

termine di ogni tappa, presso l’area parking 

bus squadre, sarà a disposizione un equipaggio 

medico con ambulanza e con l’unità 

radiologica mobile. 

ART. 8 - Preliminari di partenza 

Per tutte le tappe è previsto un raduno di 

partenza nel luogo indicato nella Guida 

Tecnica. Nelle tappe in linea i corridori sono 

obbligati a presentarsi al podio per firmare 

il foglio di partenza (art. 2.3.009). In prossimità 

della stessa area i corridori si raduneranno 

per il trasferimento in gruppo verso 

il km 0. 

ART. 9 - Rifornimento 

I rifornimenti si svolgono secondo gli art. 

2.3.025 / 026 / 027 UCI. Le aree di rifornimento 

fisso di ogni tappa sono indicate con 

appositi simboli nelle rispettive planimetrie 

e tabelle chilometriche e segnalati da appositi 

pannelli lungo i percorsi di gara. 

Nessun rifornimento è previsto per le tappe 

a cronometro. Sarà inoltre prevista una 

zona definita “Area Verde” presidiata da 

personale dedicato prima e dopo la zona di 

rifornimento e per 200 m quando mancano 

20 km alla fine di ogni tappa (escluso cronometro). 

ART. 10 - Passaggi a livello 

I passaggi a livello sono indicati nelle tabelle 

chilometriche e segnalati lungo il percorso 

di gara da appositi pannelli a “1 km PL”. 

Nell’eventualità di chiusure si applicheranno 

gli art. 2.3.034 e 2.3.035 UCI. 

ART. 11 - Incidenti in corsa negli ultimi 

3 km 

L’art. 2.6.027 UCI, “incidenti in corsa negli 

ultimi 3 km”, non è applicabile alle seguenti 

tappe con arrivo in salita: 

4a tappa: Indicatore (Arezzo) - Cittareale 

(Selvarotonda); 

5a tappa: Amatrice - Guardiagrele. 

ART. 12 - Cronometraggio 

Il tempo ufficiale è registrato dal servizio 

cronometristi in collaborazione con il giudice 

d’arrivo. I corridori avranno in dotazione 

un transponder per la rilevazione automatica 

dei tempi, da applicare sul telaio obbligatoriamente. 

ART. 13 - Tempo massimo 

Al fine di determinare il tempo massimo di 

gara le tappe sono state suddivise in quattro 

categorie con riguardo alla diversa natura 

del percorso: 

• categoria a: tappe senza particolari difficoltà 

• categoria b: tappe di media difficoltà 

• categoria c: tappe di grande difficoltà 

• categoria d: tappe a cronometro individuale 

e a squadre 

Conseguentemente il tempo massimo è 

stato così fissato: 

• per la categoria a) il tempo del vincitore 

è aumentato: 

- del 7% se la media è uguale od inferiore 

a 42 km/h 

- dell’8% se la media è compresa tra 42 e 

45 km/h 

- del 10% se la media è superiore ai 45 km/h 

• per la categoria b) il tempo del vincitore 

è aumentato: 

- del 9% se la media chilometrica è uguale 

o inferiore a 37 km/h 

- del 10% se la media è compresa tra 37 

e 42 km/h 

- del 11% se la media è superiore ai 42 

km/h 

• per la categoria c) il tempo del vincitore 

è aumentato: 

- del 10% se la media chilometrica è uguale 

o inferiore a 34 km/h 

- del 11% se la media è compresa tra 34 

e 37 km/h 

- del 12% se la media è oltre 37 km/h 

• per la categoria d) il tempo del vincitore 

aumentato del 25%. 

Secondo l’art. 2.6.032 UCI il collegio dei 

commissari, sentito il parere del Direttore 

di Organizzazione, in considerazione di particolari 

condizioni atmosferiche, di altri eventi 

ritenuti eccezionali, di comprovati infortuni 

o incidenti, può riammettere in gara concorrenti 

giunti fuori tempo massimo aumentando 

lo stesso fino ad un massimo del 25% di 

quello stabilito dal presente articolo. 

Il tempo massimo, calcolato sulla base del 

tempo del vincitore ed espresso al minuto 

secondo, deve essere successivamente calcolato 

al minuto primo superiore. 

Ai fini dell’applicazione del presente articolo, 

le tappe della 49ª Tirreno - Adriatico 

sono state così classificate: 

• categoria a: 2ª 

• categoria b: 3ª; 6ª 

• categoria c: 4ª; 5ª 

• categoria d: 1ª; 7ª 

ART. 14 - Tappe a cronometro 

A) Disposizioni Generali 

I corridori potranno usare biciclette definite 

nei parametri e nelle misure stabilite dai 

Regolamenti dell’U.C.I. e saranno verificate 

secondo le disposizioni del collegio dei 

commissari. Alla partenza i corridori saranno 

sostenuti da personale delegato dal 

collegio dei commissari. 

Ogni corridore sarà seguito da una vettura

che prenderà a bordo tecnici con materiale 

di ricambio ed eventualmente un commissario 

aggiunto. La vettura dovrà seguire il 

concorrente a non meno di 10 metri di distanza 

e non potrà mai affiancarlo. 

Allorché un concorrente venga raggiunto 

da un altro concorrente dovrà spostarsi sul 

lato destro della strada e rimanervi fino a 

che chi ha effettuato il sorpasso non abbia 

almeno 25 metri di vantaggio. 

B) Cronometro a squadre 

Donoratico - San Vincenzo 

L’ordine di partenza della tappa a cronometro 

a squadre sarà determinato da un 

sorteggio che verrà effettuato martedì 11 

marzo, durante la riunione tra la direzione 

della corsa, il collegio dei commissari ed i 

direttori sportivi. Se tra i partenti della corsa 

ci dovesse essere il vincitore dell’ultima 

edizione, la squadra di appartenenza prenderà 

il via per ultima. Le partenze saranno 

date con intervalli uguali di 3 minuti primi 

l’una dall’altra. I tempi della squadra saranno 

presi sul 5° corridore arrivato; gli altri 

componenti saranno accreditati del tempo 

registrato al loro passaggio sulla linea di 

arrivo. In caso di incidente nell’ultimo chilometro 

si applica l’art. 2.6.028 U.C.I. 

C) Cronometro individuale 


L’ordine di partenza della tappa a cronometro 

individuale sarà determinato dalla posizione 

occupata dal concorrente in classifica 

generale al termine della tappa precedente, 

in modo che l’ultimo in classifica partirà per 

primo, il penultimo per secondo e così via 

fino al primo in classifica che partirà per 

ultimo. 

Nel caso due o più corridori della stessa 

squadra si trovassero in ordine consecutivo 

di partenza, il collegio dei commissari potrà 

variare l’ordine stesso intercalando i concorrenti 

di altre squadre che immediatamente li 

precedono o li seguono in classifica generale. 

Le partenze saranno date con intervalli 

uguali compresi tra 1’ e 3’. Il direttore della 

corsa, d’accordo con il presidente del collegio 

dei commissari e informando il componente 

la C.T.-L.C.P, ha facoltà di aumentare 

l’intervallo per gli ultimi 15 partenti. 

ART. 15 - Classifica generale individuale 

a tempi 

Il leader della classifica generale individuale 

indosserà la maglia di colore azzurro. 

In applicazione agli art. 2.6.014 e 2.6.015 

UCI, la classifica generale individuale è stabilita 

dalla somma dei tempi registrati da 

ogni corridore per ciascuna tappa. Abbuoni 

ed eventuali penalità in tempo sono tenuti 

in conto per la medesima classifica. 

ART. 16 - Classifica generale individuale 

a punti 

La classifica a punti è stabilita dalla somma 

dei punteggi ottenuti in ciascuna delle sei 

tappe (esclusa la cronometro a squadre) 

e dai traguardi volanti. Sono previsti i seguenti

generale finale del G.P.M. ogni concorrente

ART. 18 - Miglior Giovane 

La classifica dei giovani è riservata ai corridori 

nati dopo l’1 gennaio 1989. 

Il corridore meglio classificato della classifica 

generale individuale a tempi sarà il 

leader giornaliero dei giovani e indosserà la 

maglia bianca. 

ART. 19 - Classifica a squadre 

Secondo l’art. 2.06.016 UCI, la classifica a 

squadre si redige per addizione dei tre migliori 

tempi realizzati dai corridori di ciascuna squadra, 

ad eccezione della cronometro a squadre 

per la quale si sommerà direttamente il tempo 

registrato da ogni rispettiva squadra; in tale 

computo sono incluse eventuali penalizzazioni 

in tempo. In caso di parità la discriminante 

applicata è la somma dei piazzamenti dei loro 

primi tre corridori di tappa; in caso di ulteriore 

parità le squadre sono classificate secondo 

il piazzamento del loro migliore corridore 

nell’ordine di arrivo. La classifica generale a 

squadre si stabilisce mediante la somma dei 

tempi registrati da ogni squadra nella classifica 

giornaliera in tutte le tappe disputate. 

In caso d’ex aequo si applica il seguente 

criterio discriminante: 

• numero dei primi posti nella classifica 

giornaliera a squadre; 

• numero dei secondi posti nella classifica 

giornaliera a squadre; 

• e così di seguito. 

In caso di ulteriore parità le squadre sono 

classificate seguendo il piazzamento del 

loro migliore corridore nella classifica generale 

individuale. Ogni squadra ridotta a 

meno di tre corridori è eliminata dalla classifica 

generale a squadre. 

ART. 20 - Abbuoni 

Gli abbuoni validi per la classifica generale 

individuale sono previsti in tutte le tappe, 

ad esclusione delle tappe a cronometro 

(squadre e individuale) art.2.6.019 /020 / 

021 UCI. Gli abbuoni sono così articolati: 

• a ogni traguardo volante sono attribuiti 

rispettivamente 3’’, 2’’ e 1’’ ai primi tre classificati. 

• ad ogni arrivo di tappa sono attribuiti 

rispettivamente 10’’, 6’’ e 4’’ ai primi tre 

classificati. 

ART. 21 - Premi regolamentari e speciali 

La 49a Tirreno - Adriatico attribuisce i seguenti 

premi regolamentari e speciali:

(pari ad un totale di euro 70.000,00) così

ART. 22 - Controllo medico 

A ogni tappa, il controllo medico verrà effettuato 

presso un mezzo mobile sitiuato 

in zona arrivo, secondo le norme vigenti 

UCI e della legge Italiana in materia. 

ART. 23 - Protocollo 

Dovranno presentarsi al cerimoniale dopo 

l’arrivo di ogni tappa, il vincitore di tappa, 

il primo della classifica generale che 

indosserà la maglia azzurra, il primo della 

classifica a punti che indosserà la maglia 

rossa, il primo della classifica del G.P.M. 

che indosserà la maglia verde e il primo 

della classifica dei giovani che indosserà 

la maglia bianca. 

Inoltre il vincitore di tappa e il leader della 

classifica generale dovranno partecipare 

alla conferenza stampa per i giornalisti 

accreditati. 

ART. 24 - Sanzioni 

Le infrazioni sono sanzionate secondo la 

“tabella sanzioni”, art. 12.1.040 UCI. 

ART. 25 - Disposizioni generali 

Possono seguire la corsa solo le persone 

denunciate all’atto del ritiro dei contrassegni 

dal titolare del rispettivo automezzo. 

Eventuali modifiche o aggiunte devono essere 

notificate al Direttore dell’Organizzazione. 

I conducenti delle auto e delle moto 

accreditate devono rispettare le norme 

del Codice della Strada e devono altresì 

sottostare alle disposizioni del Direttore 

dell’Organizzazione e dei suoi collaboratori. 

Non possono seguire la corsa persone 

che non vi abbiano funzioni riconosciute 

dagli organizzatori e inerenti ai vari servizi, 

né persone di minore età. 

Nessuna responsabilità di nessuna natura 

fa capo all’ente organizzatore per i danni 

derivati da incidenti prima, durante e dopo 

la corsa a spettatori e persone in genere, 

anche se estranee alla manifestazione 

stessa, in dipendenza di azioni non messe 

in atto dall’organizzazione medesima. 

Per quanto non contemplato nel presente 

regolamento valgono i regolamenti UCI, 

FCI e LPC.

regulations. The race is due to depart from 

Donoratico on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 

and to end on March 18, in San Benedetto

Article 2 - Type of race 

The race, registered on the UCI - WORLD 

TOUR international calendar, is reserved 

to riders belonging to the Men Elite category 

and points will be awarded for the 

UCI WORLDTOUR RANKING as per Article 

2.10.008 of the UCI regulations. 

GENERAL CLASSIFICATION 

To the 10 first placed riders on the final general 

classification, respectively points: 100, 

80, 70, 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 4. 

STAGE CLASSIFICATION 

To the 5 first placed riders on the general 

classification of each stage, respectively 

points: 6, 4, 2, 1, 1 

Article 3 - Participation 

In compliance with the provisions of Article 

2.1.005 of the UCI Regulations, the race is 

reserved to the UCI Pro Teams and, by invitation, 

the UCI Professional Continental 

Teams. According to Article 2.2.003 of the 

UCI Regulations the maximum number of 

riders per team shall be set in 8 (eight) and 

the minimum in 5 (five). In any case, the Organizer, 

to the purpose of safeguarding the 

image and reputability of its race, reserves 

the right to refuse, up to the starting time, 

the riders or the Teams which by their acts 

or declarations would prove to neglect the 

principle of sport fair play and the commitments 

undertaken and set forth in paragraph 

1.1.023 of the UCI Regulations. Moreover, in 

the event riders or Team would fail, during 

the race, in complying with the principles 

set out in the foregoing paragraph, the Organizer 

shall also reserve the right to exclude 

them form the race at any time. 

Article 4 - Race Headquarters 

The official accreditations and preliminary 

operations shall take place in Donoratico in

Via Mazzini 37 on the premises of the Circolo 

Arci - Casa del Popolo on Tuesday, 11th 

March, 2014, from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. 

The confirmation of the starters and the collection 

of the numbers of identification by 

the Sports Directors is scheduled on Tuesday, 

11th March, from 3.00 to 4.45 pm, at 

the Race Headquarters. On that same day, 

at 5.00 pm at the Race Headquarters is due 

to take place the meeting of the Organization 

Management with the Commissaires 

Panel and the Sports Directors, organized 

according to the provisions of Article 

1.2.087 of the UCI Regulations. The Briefing 

with Photographers, TV Cameraman and 

the Police Department will follow at 5.45 

pm, in compliance with Article 2.2.034 bis 

of the UCI regulations. 

Article 5 - Radio Information 

Race news are broadcasted on the 149.850 

MHz frequency. 

Article 6 - Neutral support service 

Neutral support service is provided by VIT- 

TORIA with three vehicles. 

Article 7 - Medical Care 

Medical care shall be administered by an 

adequate number of Doctors and Paramedics 

designated by the Race Management, 

during the race and as well as one hour 

before the race and one hour after the last 

rider has crossed the finish line in each 

stage. Should it be the case, Doctors are 

the sole persons responsible for transportation 

of riders to the hospitals listed for each 

stage in the Technical Guide. 

In case of any major treatment or treatment 

on hill-climbs, the doctor shall stop to ad-

minister the tratement. Moreover, at the 

end of each stage, a medical team together 

with an ambulance equipped with a mobile 

X-ray unit will be available by the team bus 

parking lot. 

Article 8 - Preliminary operations at 

the start 

All stages provide for a start gathering in 

the place mentioned in the Technical Manual. 

In road race stages riders at the Podium 

where the starting sheet is to be signed are 

duly requested (as per Article 2.3.009). In 

proximity of the same area Riders shall 

gather for the group transfert toward the 

real start place. 

Article 9 - Feeding 

Refreshments shall be supplied according 

to Articles 2.3.025 / 26 / 27 of the UCI regulations. 

The fixed Feeding Zones in each 

stage are indicated with the relevant symbols 

in the respective stage profil and time 

schedules, and shall be signposted along 

the race route. No refreshments are allowed 

in time trial stages. Moreover, the organization 

will set up an area called “Green 

Area” managed by dedicated personnel and 

located before and after the Feeding Zones 

and for 200 meters with 20 km remaining to 

the finish (except in time trial stages). 

Article 10 - Level crossings 

Level crossings are mentioned on the time 

schedules and signposted along the race 

route by relevant road signs indicating “1 

km PL”. 

In case of closed level crossings, Articles 

2.3.034 and 2.3.035 of the UCI Regulations 

shall apply. 

Article 11 - Incidents in the last 3 kilometers 

The provisions set out in Article 2.6.027 of 

the UCI Regulations - incidents during the 

last three kilometers of the race - do not 

apply to the following stages featuring a 

summit finish, i.e. 

Stage 4: Indicatore (Arezzo) - Cittareale 


Stage 5: Amatrice - Guardiagrele. 

Article 12 - Timekeeping 

The Timekeeping Service, with the assistance 

of the finish judge, will be in charge 

of recording the official time. Riders will be 

provided with a transponder for automatic 

time reading, to be mounted on a mandatory 

basis on the frame of the bicycle. 

Article 13 - Finishing time limit 

In order to determine the finish time limit 

allowed, the stages have been divided into 

four categories according to the different 

nature of the route, i.e.: 

• a category: stages presenting no particular 

difficulty 

• b category: stages presenting average 

difficulty 

• c category: stages presenting remarkable 

difficulty 

• d category: individual and team time trial 

stages 

Consequently, the time limit has been set 

out as follows: 

• for the a category, the winner’s time plus: 

- 7% if the average speed is less than or 

equal to 42 km/h 

- 8% if the average speed is between 42 

and 45 km/h

- 10% if the average speed is over 45 km/h 

• for the b category, the winner’s time plus: 



- 10% of the average speed is between 37 

and 42 km/h 


• for the c category, the winner’s time plus: 



- 11% if the average speed is between 34 

and 37 km/h 


• for the d category, the winner’s time plus 

25%. 

According to Article 2.6.032 of the UCI regulations, 

in case of special weather conditions, 

or other exceptional curcumstances, 

confirmed accidents or incidents, the Commissaires 

Panel, after consultation with the 

Organization Director, may readmit in the 

race any Rider finishing in a time exceeding 

the time limit, by increasing the latter by a 

maximum of 25% of the time set forth in 

this Article. The time limit, established on 

the basis of the winner’s time expressed in 

minute seconds, shall be futher rounded off 

to the successive superior minute. 

For the purpose of enforcing the provisions 

of this Article, the stages of the 49th Tirreno 

- Adriatico have been classified as follows: 

• a category: Stage 2 

• b category: Stages 3; 6 

• c category: Stages 4; 5 

• d category: Stages 1; 7

Article 14 - Time trial stages 

A) General provisions 

Riders can use bicycles falling within the 

scope of parameters and measurements 

set forth by the U.C.I. Regulations, and that 

shall be verified according to the provisions 

set forth by the Commissaires Panel. 

At the start riders shall be supported by 

judges in charge appointed by the Commissaires 

Panel. Each rider will be followed by 

a car which will take on board the personnel 

equipped with spare parts and, should 

it be the case, accompanied by and extra 

Commissaire. The vehicle shall follow the 

rider at not less than 10 meters and shall in 

no way draw up level with the rider. 

Whenever a rider is reached by another 

competitor, the same shall move to the 

right side of the road and there remains until 

until the other Rider is at least 25 meters 

ahead of him. 

B) Team time trial stage 

Donoratico - San Vincenzo 

The starting order of the team time trial 

stage shall be determined by a drawing due 

to take place on Tuesday, 11th March, during 

the meeting of the Race Management, 

the Commissaires Panel and the Sports Directors. 

In the event the field of competitors 

would count the winner of the last edition, 

then his team will start at the last place. 

Starts will occur according to identical 

three-minute interval. Team timing will 

be calculated on the fifth rider arrived; the 

other riders of the team will be granted the 

recorded time upon their passing the finishing 

line. In the event of an accident during 

the last kilometer the provisions of article 

2.6.028 of the U.C.I. Regulations shall apply. 

C) Individual time trial stage 


The starting order of the individual time 

trial stage shall be determined by the rider’s 

position on the general classification at 

the end of the previous stage, so that the 

last-placed in the ranking will start first, the 

second last-placed as second and so on until 

the first best-placed who will be the last 

rider to start. In the event two or more riders 

of the same team would fall into a consecutive 

starting order, then the Commissaires 

Panel could be in a position to change the 

order, thus inserting riders of other teams 

which immediately precede or follow them 

in the general ranking. Riders shall set off 

at identical interval between 1’ to 3’. The 

Race Director, by common consent with the 

President of the Commissaires Panel and 

having informed the C.T.-L.C.P., is authorized 

to increase the starting interval for the last 

15 starting riders. 

Article 15 - General individual classification 

by time 

The leader of the general individual ranking 

will wear the blue jersey. 

In compliance with the provisions set forth 

by Articles 2.6.014 and 2.6.015 of the UCI 

Regulations, the general individual ranking 

is established by adding together the times 

achieved by each competitor in each stage. 

Time allowances and penalties are considered 

for this classification. 

Article 16 - General individual classification 

by points 

The individual point ranking is obtained by 

adding together the points gained in each 

of the six stages (excluding the team trial 

stage) and the sum of the points assigned 

in all the Intermediate Sprints

the leader of the mountains ranking 

shall wear the green jersey. 

According to Article 2.6.017 of the UCI Regulations, 

in the event of a tie in the general 

individual mountains classification the following 

criteria shall apply: 

• number of 1st places on climbs 

• general individual classification by time 

Each rider will have to complete the entire 

race, to be able to benefit of the prizes resulting 

from the general final mountains 

classification. 

Article 18 - Best Young Rider 

The Best Young Rider Classification is reserved 

to Riders born after January 1st, 

1989. 

The best-placed rider in the general classification 

by time will be the daily Best Young 

Rider leader and will wear the white jersey. 

Article 19 - Team Classification 

According to the provisions set out in Article 

2.06.016 of the UCI regulations, the 

team ranking is obtained on the basis of the

sum of the three best individual times from 

each team, exception made for the teams 

time trial for which the time recorded by 

each single team will directly be summed, 

including any time penalties. 

In the event of a tie the teams shall be separated 

by the sum of the places acquired by 

their three best times in the stage. If the 

teams are still tied, they shall be separated 

by the placing of their best rider in the stage 

classification. 

The general place list by teams is determined 

by the sum of the three best individual 

times of each team, in all the ridden 

stages. 

In the event of a tie the following criteria 

shall appliy: 

• number of first places in the daily team 

classifications; 

• number of second places in the daily 

team classifications; 

• and so on. 

If there is still a draw, the teams shall be 

separated by the placing of their best rider 

in the general individual classification. 

Each team whose number would be reduced 

to less than three riders, shall be cancelled 

from the general team classification. 

Article 20 - Time allowances 

Time allowances valid for the general individual 

classification have been taken 

into consideration for all stages, exception 

being made for the time trial stages (both 

individual and by teams), as per Articles 

2.6.019 /020 / 021 of the UCI regulations. 

Time allowances are attributed as follows: 

• for each Intermediate Sprint, the first 

three best-placed are respectively assigned 

3’’, 2’’ and 1’’ ;

• for each stage finish, the first three bestplaced 

are respectively assigned 10’’, 6’’ 

and 4’’. 

Article 21 - Regular and special prizes 

The 49th Tirreno - Adriatico shall award the 

following regular and special prizes: 

Euros 10,000.00 for each of the seven stages 

(for a total amount of euros 70,000.00), 

split as follows: 

1st best-placed euros 4,000 

2nd “ euros 2,000 

3rd “ euros 1,000 

4th “ euros 500 






From 10th to 20th euros 100 

Euros 35,000.00 for the general final classification, 

split as follows:

The above-mentioned charts refer to the 

value that the organization makes available 

to the A.C C.P.I. for the distribution to the 

associate and/or to the delegating parties. 

ART. 22 - Medical control 

For each stage medical control will take 

place at the mobile unit in the finish area, 

according to the UCI regulations in force 

and to the relevant applicable Italian provisions. 

Article 23 - Awards ceremony procedures 

After finishing each stage, the stage winner, 

the leader of the General Classification 

wearing the blue jersey, the leader of the 

General Classification by Points wearing 

the red jersey, the leader of the Mountains 

Classification wearing the green jersey, and 

the leader of the Best Young Rider Classification 

wearing the white jersey shall attend 

the prize-giving ceremony. 

Moreover, the stage winner and the leader 

of the General Classification shall participate 

in the press conference with the accredited 

journalists. 

Article 24 - Sanctions 

Infringements shall be sanctioned according 

to the “scale of penalties”, as per Article 

12.1.040 of the UCI regulations. 

Article 25 - General provisions 

Only persons identified upon collection 

of the identification badge by the owner 

of the authorized vehicle, are entitled to 

follow the race. Possible changes or additions 

shall be notified to the Organization 

Director. Drivers of duly identified cars and 

motorbikes shall comply with the provisions 

set forth by the Highway Code and shall furthermore 

comply with the rules set out by 

the Organization Director and his Officials. 

Persons who are not recognized as having 

roles acknowledged by the organizers and 

services-related functions as well as underage 

persons, are not allowed to follow the 

race. The Organization shall not be liable 

in any way whatsoever for damages deriving 

from accidents occurred prior, during 

or after the race and deriving from actions 

not ascribable to the same organization, to 

persons in general, even if unrelated with 

the race. 

For all that is not regulated under this ruling 

the UCI, FCI and LPC regulations shall apply.
