Sangue occulto nelle feci<br />
La preparazione all'esame è subordinata alle tecniche diagnostiche<br />
utilizzate dal laboratorio di analisi (Hemmocult o prove immunochimiche).<br />
Le tecniche tradizionali si basano sull'utilizzo del guaiaco e sfruttano<br />
striscette di carta che, quando trattate con idrogeno-perossidasi,<br />
sviluppano un colore ben definito in presenza o assenza di EME (porzione<br />
emoglobinica, contenuta nei globuli rossi, che lega l'ossigeno).<br />
Per evitare falsi positivi, nei giorni precedenti l'esame è bene astenersi dal<br />
consumo di carni rosse crude o semicrude e salumi di ogni genere,<br />
evitare fonti particolarmente ricche di vitamina C (alimenti, farmaci<br />
ed integratori), gli alcolici ed i medicinali antinfiammatori tipo Aspirina ©<br />
(che potrebbero danneggiare la mucosa dello stomaco, con conseguente<br />
fuoriuscita di sangue).
