In oltre cento anni, di personaggi famosi, a Tremezzo, ne sono passati tanti.
Greta Garbo fu una delle prime star di Hollywood a soggiornare qui, tanto che
a lei è dedicata la suite presidenziale del Grand Hotel. Che in tempi più recenti
ha ospitato tutto il cast di Guerre Stellari, e in particolare George Lucas e Natalie
Portman, durante le riprese del secondo episodio della famosissima saga.
Lucas, dovendo scegliere il luogo dove ambientare una delle scene più romantiche
del cinema di tutti i tempi – il matrimonio di Anakin Skywalker e Padmé
Amidala – ha infatti voluto senza esitazioni il lago di Como dopo averlo visitato
in una vacanza con la propria famiglia.
In over one hundred years many famous people have passed through Tremezzo.
Greta Garbo was one of the first Hollywood stars to stay here. In fact
the presidential suite at the Grand Hotel was dedicated to her. More recently
we hosted the cast of Star Wars, and especially George Lucas and Natalie Portman,
while filming the second episode of the hugely popular saga. Lucas, having
to choose the location to set one of the most romantic movie scenes of all
time - the marriage of Anakin Skywalker and Padmé Amidala – wanted it without
hesitation, after having visited Lake Como on a vacation with his family.
