Invisible Zip<strong>per</strong> Foot<br />

Teeth<br />

1/4” Foot<br />

1 Attach invisible zip<strong>per</strong> foot.<br />

2 Align zip<strong>per</strong> with fabric. Mark the<br />

base of the opening approximately<br />

2 cm above the end of the<br />

zip<strong>per</strong>.<br />

3 Baste the zip<strong>per</strong> position.<br />

● Sewing machine settings:<br />

Stitch length = 2 - 2.5<br />

• Sew a consistent seam allowance<br />

(1/4”, 6.4 mm) when piecing<br />

together a quilt.<br />

4 Separate the seam allowance.<br />

5 With the zip<strong>per</strong> mounted, baste<br />

just the seam margin on one side<br />

of the zip<strong>per</strong>.<br />

6 Close the zip<strong>per</strong> and baste the<br />

other side of the zip<strong>per</strong>.<br />

7 Remove the basting at the zip<strong>per</strong><br />

position.<br />

• Use guides (mark) to begin, end,<br />

or pivot 1/4” from edge of fabric.<br />

8 Fit the zip<strong>per</strong> teeth into the<br />

presser foot groove, guide them<br />

to prevent them from falling over,<br />

and sew to the base of the opening.<br />

• Accurately top stitch 1/8” from<br />

seam.<br />

✽ When sewing with the teeth to<br />

the right, the left side of the foot<br />

should line up with the left teeth<br />

of the zip<strong>per</strong>.<br />
