La nostra storia nel mondo dei rivestimenti inizia nel 1992. L’idea di base che ci guida fin dal 

principio è quella di offrire prodotti di qualità eccellente, modellati attraverso il design più 

aggiornato e la tecnologia più all’avanguardia. Quello che da sempre ci caratterizza è la capacità 

di andare oltre, di spingerci più in là, di cercare soluzioni estetiche sempre nuove, in grado di 

stupire e di essere realizzate industrialmente. Non abbiamo mai percorso le strade semplici. 

A volte abbiamo inseguito sogni impossibili, come in un’eterna sfida tra la fantasia e la realtà.

Modern Affresco is an enchanting capsule collection by Tecnografica Italian Wallcoverings, a series of sophisticated 

wallpapers that revamps the value of memory into the contemporary living spaces. The main concept of the 

collection is the nearly-archaeological retrieval of textures and illustrations that belong to a lost time, where 

geometries and floral marquetry become substance and expand in a charming effect on the whole wall. A must-have 

piece of furniture, perfect for residential and commercial estate and also for innovative public areas. Inside Modern 

Affresco, absence is the valuable, main character that has to be fully developed through visual imagination. What 

would usually be considered as worn-out and threadbare, becomes precious and full of timeless splendour, exactly 

like the ancient stripped walls from which the original idea of this collection comes from. This capsule collection 

consists of six hand-painted and digital-printed illustrations. In fact, the exclusive SD technology – with its cuttingedge

in campiture a tutta parete, capaci di divenire elemento d’arredo fondamentale per ambienti residenziali, 

commerciali e pubblici dal design innovativo. Più che mostrare, infatti, Modern Affresco suggerisce un racconto

Do you have the opportunity to listen all by yourself to ‘Wild Horses’ by the Rolling Stones? Listen and try to imagine a travel of 

two sailing ships, lost in their ocean but meant to be together… let’s start. Rockstar pulp mixed with the wolf’s instinct on one 

side and the poète maudit and the seven seas pirate on the other. Out of time, out of space, out of every conventional point of 

view, spreading out the limits: that is the extreme couple, the enigmatic and fabulous one! The story of the first begins with a 

pencil, a space shuttle transporting everything that is on the mind. He designed outfits for faraway princes and tapestries for the 

walls of impenetrable castles and with his hands he was able to transport everything everywhere he could imagine. Younger and 

more Mediterranean the other profile: red Indian and Scorpio. Fire and passion are basic elements shaping a hunger inhaling the 

contact with things, the matter possesses him, creating a mean through which it is realized. Only art, music, dreams, imagination 

could have put in contact two souls so loyal and free. Unique in their way of being, they create awesomeness and emotional 

closeness and, at the same time, they alienate the rigor destroying barriers. There is no fusion or compromise, colors are not mixed 

together but they overlap, nothing is cancelled but everything is created leaving an unconscious feeling of confusion and dizziness.

Marco Fontana was born in Sassuolo (MO) in 1968. Since his childhood, he demonstrated great 

skills in drawings especially in the comics field. He attended the Design Institute of Modena and in 

his free time he collaborated with a famous Cartoon Film Production Company: Bignardi Films, 

which realized from 1983 to 1988 the RAI short films “Quark Economia” by Bruno Bozzetto, and 

“Il Signor Bonaventura” by Sergio Tofano. In the same period, he actively collaborated with the 

newspaper “Il Resto del Carlino”, creating comic stripes on Mondays Issues, both for Modena and 

at national level. Furthermore, he worked with many other local and national reviews with the 

Wondernonna series ‐ presented also at the Lucca Comics Festival in 1991. During a long period 

of inactivity, he realized advertising and he dedicated himself to design packaging. In 2008 Marco 

Fontana took up his activity as artist and set up an exposition in Ferrara made of erotic paintings 

signed “Pop-Hard” series with the enamel technique.

nazionali, con la serie Wondernonna, presentata anche a Lucca Comics nel 1991. Trascorre un 

lungo periodo di inattività, durante il quale realizza solamente dei lavori a spot e si dedica al 

packaging design e alla pubblicità. Nel 2008 riprende l’attività di artista ed espone a Ferrara i 

quadri erotici della serie Pop-Hard, realizzati con la tecnica degli smalti.

Leo Bellei was born in Sassuolo in 1973. She got her specialization in advertising and photography in Modena, 

then she attended a course of illustrations, comics, and screenplay in Bologna. 

Hereinafter, for about a year, she worked as a teacher for a comics course. Finally, she came across with the 

ceramic sector working as a graphic designer in an office and now she is a designer in the wallpaper sector. 

Fortunately, she never gave up on her passion for painting and illustrating, while her art embodied the perfect 

synthesis of her knowledge, feelings, and creativity. 

In 2009 she started a collaboration with the “Magazzini Criminali” gallery in Sassuolo. Since then, she 

regularly exhibits paintings, illustrations, and pictures. 

Between 2009 and 2017 she realized various installations and exhibitions, some of them also in collaboration 

with Spazio Gerra in Reggio Emilia, the Flyer Art Gallery in Rome, the Caelum Gallery in New York City, 

Unico Fashion Gallery by Arte Fiera 2018 in Bologna, and Artbox Gallery in Zurigo. With this last Gallery 

she also will be exhibiting in New York in 2018. 

Leo Bellei nata a Sassuolo nel 1973, si specializza a Modena in grafica pubblicitaria e fotografia, poi a 

Bologna segue un corso di illustrazione, fumetto e sceneggiatura. 

Il suo primo approccio al mondo del lavoro avviene come insegnante di fumetto, poi successivamente 

approda nel mondo della grafica nel settore ceramico e attualmente è designer nel settore wallpaper. 

Contemporaneamente a tutto questo, continua a coltivare l’amore per la pittura e l’illustrazione, realizzando 

quadri che rappresentano una sintesi di conoscenza ed emozioni filtrate dalla creatività. 

Nel 2009 inizia un rapporto di collaborazione con la galleria Magazzini Criminali di Sassuolo ed espone 

regolarmente le sue opere in numerose mostre ed installazioni. 

Tra il 2009 e il 2017 realizza numerose installazioni ed esposizioni collaborando appunto con la galleria 

Magazzini Criminali di Sassuolo, Spazio Gerra di Reggio Emilia, Flyer Art Gallery di Roma, Caelum 

Gallery di New York, Unico Fashion Gallery per Arte Fiera 2018 e Artbox Gallery di Zurigo, con cui nel 

2018 esporrà a New York.

The wallpaper shall be applied by an experienced installer. 

However, if you have a good manual ability, you can do-it-yourself. 

Here below, please find some advices for a well done job 

in 6 steps: 

Per il montaggio a parete della vostra carta da parati è consigliabile 

affidarsi a un professionista. Tuttavia, se avete una buona 

manualità, è possibile procedere al fai da te. Ecco di seguito i 

suggerimenti per un lavoro a regola d’arte in 6 passaggi: 

OK 

1. How to prep your walls prior to the application of wallpaper. 

After choosing the wall where to apply the wallpaper, firstly you 

have to get a completely smooth surface, without roughness or 

defects, thus allowing the wallpaper to adhere to it perfectly. Just 

scrape off the wall until it is ready for the application. 

2. How to prepare the adhesive. 

Purchase the most suitable adhesive gel for the wallpaper by 

your trusted shop. Pour the adhesive into a container (200 g each 

square metre) and stir by using a whisk (suitable for drill) until the 

mixture is lump free. 

3. Application of an adhesive undercoat. 

Apply a coat of adhesive by mean of a roller. Let it dry for approx. 

20/30 minutes. 

4. Application of the glue on the back of the paper. 

Apply on the back of the support a glue layer and slightly fold it 

without making any pressure. 

After making this operation on the first 2/3 rolls, move to point no. 5. 

During the application of the layer of the first rolls as stated in 

point no. 5, repeat the operation of the glue application also on 

the next rolls. 

5. Application of the wallpaper. 

First of all, put it straight down on the wall thus allowing the paper 

to lay correctly (it is recommended to use a laser instrument 

pointing out the line from where to start). Then, by following the 

instructions for laying, identify the second roll of wallpaper and 

place it as indicated in the picture, taking into account that each 

roll is 73 cm (28,7”) width. Let a paper margin on the roller being 

installed on the left, in order to compensate any perpendicularity 

defects on the wall. Proceed in the same way for all rolls composing 

the design and follow the instructions for laying. 

Once concluded the operation, trim with a cutter the surplus of 

the wallpaper along the outer limit of the wall. 

6. Application of a protective top coat. 

After approx. 8 hours from the application of adhesive gel, apply 

a protective top coat. Use a large brush and spread it evenly on 

the entire wall. Let it dry for approx. 4 hours, then apply a protective 

coat again.

2. Preparazione della colla. 

Acquistate nel vostro negozio di fiducia la colla gel adatta per la carta 

da parati. Procedete a versare la colla in un secchio, nella quantità 

di 200 g per metro quadro, e mescolate con una frusta (una di quelle 

adattabili al trapano) fino a che non spariscono eventuali grumi. 

3. Applicazione della prima mano di colla. 

Procedete poi a stendere in parete una mano di colla tramite un 

rullo. Lasciate asciugare per circa 20/30 minuti. 

4. Applicazione della colla sul retro della carta. 

Applicare sul retro del supporto uno strato di colla e ripiegare 

delicatamente il supporto su se stesso, senza applicare pressione. 

Dopo aver compiuto questa operazione sui primi 2/3 rotoli 

passate al punto 5. Nel corso dell’applicazione della stesura dei 

primi rotoli di cui al punto 5, ripetere l’operazione di stesura della 

colla anche sui rotoli successivi. 

5. Stesura della carta. 

Per prima cosa fate il piombo sulla parete, in modo da iniziare 

a posare correttamente la carta (ideale uno strumento laser 

che indichi perfettamente la linea con la quale iniziare). Poi, con 

davanti le indicazioni di posa del progetto, identificate il rotolo 

numero 2 e, calcolando che ogni rotolo ha una larghezza di 73 

cm, posizionatelo come da figura, avendo cura di lasciare un 

margine di carta da rifilare successivamente nel rullo che andrà 

montato a sinistra, così da compensare difetti di perpendicolarità 

della parete. Procedete nello stesso modo con tutti gli altri 

rotoli, continuando a seguire le indicazioni di posa del progetto. 

Una volta terminata l’operazione, rifilate con un cutter le eccedenze 

di carta da parati lungo tutto il perimetro della parete. 

6. Applicazione di un eventuale protettivo finale. 

Dopo circa 8 ore dalla applicazione della carta da parati, applicate 

uno strato di protettivo. Usate un pennello grande e realizzate 

una stesura uniforme su tutta la parete. Lasciare asciugare 

per circa 4 ore, quindi applicate una seconda mano di protettivo.
