International Florence Photo Contest | 2019
The PhotoClub “Il Cupolone EFI –CAFIAP” of Florence, with the Patronage of Fédération Internationale
de l’Art Photographique (FIAP) 2018/X, of Federazione Italiana delle Associazioni Fotografiche (FIAF)
2018/X and of Global Photographic Union (GPU) LX, announces the Florence International Photo Contest,
Photographic International Contest for digital images.
REGULATIONS 1. The competition is open to all photographers in the world,
both amateurs and professionals, who have the copyright of
all submitted images. All parts, even minimal, of the image
should have been taken by the author who submits the work.
2. The photographic competition is set out in the following
five sections for “digital”, or “digitalized” works:
4. All images must be submitted in JPG format, in RGB
color space, with 1920 pixels as maximum size of the longest
side, with 300dpi resolution and 2 megabytes as maximum
size. The Organizing Committe of the competition accepts no
responsibility for reading mistakes of images due to the used
informatic equipments. Images which do not fit the required
technical standards will not be evaluated. The registration fee
will not be returned. Every juror will use a 27 – inch Full HD (1920
x 1080) monitor connected to the central server by the program
HPCM (Hiho Photo Contest Manager) provided by HIHO srl.
5. The images submitted to the competition should be
forwarded only by internet via the url www.gfcupolone.net
Competition opens on Saturday 15 September 2018 and closes
on Monday 29 October 2018 at 23.59 h (Italian time).
The registration form is available at the url www.gfcupolone.net
6. The registration fee is 20,00 € / 25,00 US$ per participant
regardless of the attended sections and the number of
submitted images (with the limit of 4 images per section and
the overall number of 20 images);

REGULATIONS
For Italian participants, FIAF members, a reduced fee of
16,00 € is applied.
The fee should be payed only by PayPal in the name of
Cupolone through the email address concorsi@gfcupolone.net
and only via the site www.gfcupolone.net.
The works without payed registration fee will not be evaluated.
Discounts for groups:
From 10 to 20 Participants:
18,00 € (Euro Area) – US$ 23,00 (Other Areas)
From 21 to 30 Participants:
17,00 € (Euro Area) – US$ 22,00 (Other Areas)
From 31 to 50 Participants:
16,00 € (Euro Area) – US$ 21,00 (Other Areas)
From 51 to 100 Participants:
15,00 € (Euro Area) – US$ 20,00 (Other Areas)
Over 101 Participants:
14,00 € (Euro Area) – US$ 19,00 (Other Areas)
Big groups (more than 31 partecipants) should contact the
Organizing Secretary Office by mail:

7. The results achieved by submitted works will be
forwarded to all participants via email; acceptance of
works and assignment of awards will be decided by an
unquestionable evaluation of the Jury.
8. All participants will receive personal report card
notifications via e-mail.
The results, the minutes of the Jury and all admitted and
winning works will be published on the site
www.gfcupolone.net
9. At the end of procedure of the Jury, the catalogue of
“Florence Photo Contest” will be issued. It will be available
in pdf format, both online on the site of Photographic Group
“Il Cupolone” www.gfcupolone.net and downloadable on site.
It will report all winning works, a wide selection of admitted
images, the minutes of the Panel and the list of admitted
works and participants.
REGULATIONS
10. Each author is personally responsible for the submitted
images and, by attending the competition, he authorizes
the GF “Il Cupolone” to use the awarded, admitted or only
submitted images for purposes related to the event and its
development. Therefore, entering the competition implies,
by itself, the author’s assignment to FIAF and FIAP the right
to publish the awarded and admitted images on catalogues,
other publications and sites on the web aimed at promoting
the event and photographic art. Other different usages of
the images will be possible under specific authorization of
the author of images. All the parts of the image have to be
photographed by the author who is holding the copyright of all
works submitted.
11. The photographic group “Il Cupolone EFI – CAFIAP”, even
assuring best care in manipulation, accepts no responsibility
for possible loss or damage, due to whatever cause.
The photographic group accepts no responsibility for possible
wrong address in the application form, which prevents
forwarding of matter or awards; all communications including
the announcement of results, will be performed by email.
12. Attending the competition implies complete and
unconditioned acceptance of the present regulations and
takes for granted its knowledge.
13. All participants of the Contest must tick a box next to
which the following text is stated: “I hereby expressly agree
to FIAP document 018/2017 «Conditions and regulations for
FIAP Patronage» and FIAP document 017/2017 «Sanctions for
breaching FIAP regulations and the red list». I am particularly
aware of chapter II «Regulations for International photographic
events under FIAP patronage» of FIAP document 018/2017,
dealing under Section II. 2 and II. 3 with the FIAP participation
rules, the sanctions for breaching FIAP regulations and the red
list”. Participants who do not tick the box must be excluded

REGULATIONS
14. All the parts of the image have to be photographed by the
author who is holding the copyright of all works submitted.
By the sole act of submitting his/her images or files to a salon
under FIAP Patronage, the entrant accepts without exception and
with no objection the following terms:
- that the submitted images can be investigated by FIAP to
establish if these obey to FIAP regulations and definitions even if
the entrant is not a member of FIAP
- that FIAP will use any means at its disposal for this undertaking
- that any refusal to cooperate with FIAP or any refusal to
submit the original files as captured by the camera, or failure
to provide sufficient evidence, will be sanctioned by FIAP,
- that in case of sanctions following the non-compliance
with FIAP regulations, the name of the entrant will be released
in any form useful to inform the breaches of the rules.
In order to help a possible investigation, we advise to leave the
EXIF data of submitted images.
15. The reproduction of the entered works is allowed in the
printed or digital catalogue, except when expressly prohibited
by the author.
16. Definitions:
Definition of Nature Photography
Nature photography is restricted to the use of the photographic
process to depict all branches of natural history, except
anthropology and archaeology, in such a fashion that a well
informed person will be able to identify the subject material
and certify its honest presentation. The story telling value of a
photograph must be weighed more than the pictorial quality while
maintaining high technical quality. Human elements shall not be
present, except where those human elements are integral parts of
the nature story such as nature subjects, like barn owls or storks,
adapted to an environment modified by humans, or where those
human elements are in situations depicting natural forces, like
hurricanes or tidal waves. Scientific bands, scientific tags or radio
collars on wild animals are permissible.
Photographs of human created hybrid plants, cultivated plants,
feral animals, domestic animals, or mounted specimens are
ineligible, as is any form of manipulation that alters the truth of
the photographicstatement.
REGULATIONS
No techniques that add, relocate, replace, or remove pictorial
elements except by cropping are permitted. Techniques that
enhance the presentation of the photograph without changing
the nature story or the pictorial content, or without altering
the content of the original scene, are permitted including HDR,
focus stacking and dodging/burning. Techniques that remove
elements added by the camera, such as dust spots, digital
noise, and film scratches, are allowed. Stitched images are not
permitted. All allowed adjustments must appear natural.
Colour images can be converted to greyscale monochrome.
Infrared images, either direct – captures or derivations, are not
allowed. Images used in Nature Photography competitions may
be divided in two classes: Nature and Wildlife.
Images entered in Nature sections meeting the Nature
Photography Definition above can have landscapes, geologic
formations, weather phenomena, and extant organisms as the
primary subject matter. This includes images taken with the
subjects in controlled conditions, such as zoos, game farms,
botanical gardens, aquariums and any enclosure where the
subjects are totally dependent on man for food.
Definition of the black and white photography (monochrome)
A black and white work fitting from the very dark grey (black)
to the very clear grey (white) is a monochrome work with the
various shades of grey. A black and white work toned entirely
in a single colour will remain a monochrome work able to
stand in the black and white category; such a work can be
reproduced in black and white in the catalogue of a salon
under FIAP Patronage. On the other hand: a black and white
work, modified by a partial toning or by the addition of one
colour, becomes a colour work (polychrome) to stand in the
colour category; such a work requires colour reproduction in
the catalogue of a salon under FIAP Patronage.
17. According to General Data Protection Regulation –
GDPR (Reg (UE) 2016/679) we advertise that the personal
data communicated in the framework of this international
photographic contest will be collected and registered by
GF “Il Cupolone” of Florence on papery, electronic, and/or
informatic, and/or telematic media – protected and processed
by procedures suitable to protect security and confidentiality
fulfilling the requirements of Regulation.

EVENTS CALENDAR
We inform you that the data communicated by you will be
used only for purposes strictly required by the competition and
related to it. For this aim, in the framework of the event, your
data may be published on line on the web site of the contest
www.gfcupolone.net and www.trofeocupolone.it and/or on
the catalogue of the contest. Giving your data is necessary
for attending the competition. We inform you that you can
exercise your rights (among them, just as an example, the right
to obtain the confirmation of existence of data concerning
you and their communication in an understandable form,
the procedure of handling, the updating, the correction or
integration and cancellation of data) by means of request
to the Responsible Board of data treatment, without any
formality. Responsible Board of Data Treatment is
GF “Il Cupolone” of Florence, through its pro tempore
President, Simone Sabatini. At any time, the competitor may ask
the cancellation of his data from the list of participants.
In such a case the photos will not be evaluated and the fees will
