Introducing specially reserved tables at Nobu Nobu Matsuhisa is a world-renowned chef known for reinventing Japanese cuisine with genre-defining dishes including black cod with miso, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño and rock shrimp tempura. His inventive approach to flavour and dedication to dazzling palates has inspired a global craving for Nobu Style cuisine. Born and raised in Japan, Chef Nobu served a rigorous apprenticeship at a top sushi bar in Tokyo before opening his own sushi bar in Peru. It was there that he kindled his signature style, fusing local flavours and classic Japanese cuisine. In 1987, he opened his first restaurant in the United States, Matsuhisa Beverly Hills, attracting an immediate fan base that included Robert De Niro, who would become his lifelong friend and business partner. At De Niro’s urging, they opened the very first Nobu in New York in 1994, spawning a global empire that includes more than 30 Nobu restaurants and a stunning collection of luxury hotels.
