cpp SPECIAL Special seals for valves Variable speed for enhanced process control GFD is specialised in seals for difficult operation conditions. The dimensions are available from 2 to 3000 mm diameter. Valves, which must operate with very low temperatures such as -196 °C or in the desert, which must be resistant against aggressive media, hot gases and pres - sures of several hundred bars, require special solutions – seals from GFD. This applies in particular if the operation conditions of the valves and the seals do not permit aging. GFD supplies seals for the most different valves like ball valves, butterfly valves, control and regulating valves, gate valves etc. The advantages of GFD-seals are: • Universally chemical-resistant • Durable elasticity because of an integrated stainless steel spring • Sterilisable for foodstuff or Picture: GFD pharmaceutical applications • Capsulated or totally sealed stainless steel spring • Highest wear resistance and lowest friction forces • Suitable for high and low temperatures (-196 °C up to 316 °C); (800 °C metal-seals) www.cpp-net.com Online search: cpp0318gfd Hall 3, Booth H46 Picture: Auma Auma’s SAV multi-turn actuators for open-close duty and Sarv multi-turn actuators for modulating duty are combined with intelligent ACV actuator controls. Variable speed allows optimum operating speed to be selected for each range of valve position. Soft start and soft stop ensure gentle valve operation close to the end positions, and minimise mechanical stresses on the valve, motor and gearbox. Pressure surge and cavitation effects can be avoided by using speed profiles. When working in modulating duty, the actuator speed can be set to reduce progressively as the valve position approaches the setpoint, this increases positioning accuracy. Actuator speed can also be controlled by an external signal. A further option is speed synchronisation between two actuators. The actuators are available now in six sizes covering torques of up to 1000 Nm. Speed ranges include 6 to 60, 12 to 120 and 24 to 240 min -1 . www.cpp-net.com Online search: cpp0318auma Hall 3, Booth E74 Ultrasonic clamp-on flow meter The Dynasonics TFX-500w ultrasonic clamp-on flow meter from Badger Meter is a costeffective solution for measuring water flow bi-directionally in a variety of applications. The meter resides outside the pipe and is compatible with a wide range of pipe sizes. It has no pressure head loss, no contact with internal liquid and no moving parts to maintain. The TFX-500w is quickly and easily Picture: Badger Meter installed without cutting or tapping process piping, and can be retrofitted in existing installations without shutting down system operations. It features a large, easy-to-read display, and provides Modbus RTU and BACnet MS/TP connectivity, as well as integrates with the Badger Meter Beacon and Aquacue Advanced Metering Analytics (AMA) cloud-based software suites. Programming of the meter is through the front panel or USB cable using Solocue configuration software. Available in sizes of 15 to 250 mm, and handling flow ranges of 0.1 to 44,700 l/min at temperature ranges of -40 to 121 °C, the TFX-500w is a versatile flow metering device that can be used in almost any industrial environment. www.cpp-net.com Online search: cpp0318badgermeter Hall 5, Booth M5 Ball valves with bleed function The Taurus series double block & bleed valves from AS- Schneider are providing a double isolation function with a twin ball design and a bleed function by different bleed/vent valve designs. The block valves are available from 1" to 6" full bore (8" reduced bore). The standard flanged connections are offered by default acc. to ASME B16.5. The ball valves have an anti-blowout stem design and an anti-static design and are fire safe tested and certified according to API 607 and ISO 10497. The double block & bleed piping ball valves are designed specifically for applications in the oil and gas industry. The following designs are available: two piece and/or three piece design, floating ball design or trunnion ball design. The Taurus series is designed, developed and tested in Germany and certified by TÜV Süd. Where necessary, Peek as seat material and Duplex as ball material are provided. www.cpp-net.com Online search: cpp0318asschneider Hall 3, Booth 65 Picture: AS-Schneider 26 cpp 03-2018

Monitoring of expansion joints Picture: Witzenmann Expansion joints are among the most important safety elements in the pipeline network. The Witzenmann IoT expansion joint study allows a continuous evaluation of the operating condition in real time due to intelligently linked sensors. An FEM model of the expansion joint that provides information on and visualises the current load situation of the bellows is generated continuously in real time via a dashboard. At the same time, the remaining service life of the component is continuously calculated from the actual operating data. The degree of damage can therefore be estimated precisely, and any regular replacement or inspection intervals can be planned. The expansion joint records all relevant data, even effects that are not planned for the system, such as, e. g., pressure shocks or unplanned temperature courses. When a component is replaced, the manufacturer can therefore precisely evaluate its load for the plant operator. The added value results from this cause analysis, which makes it possible to design subsequent components for the plant requirements. The knowledge and availability of detailed operating data are reflected in a higher operating efficiency and longer service life of the entire plant here as well. www.cpp-net.com Online search: cpp0318witzenmann Hall 4, Booth B22 Visit us in Düsseldorf at the Valve World 2018 · hall 3 · booth H46 Versioned catalog production Perfect project management for highly complex jobs Tools for an efficient workflow druck@konradin.de www.konradinheckel.de Picture: Bürkert Increased diaphragm lifetime Bürkert has optimised the diaphragm contact surfaces in the valve seat and at the so-called pressure piece of its diaphragm valves. The improved geometries ensure the diaphragm load is better distributed, thereby increasing the diaphragm lifetime by up to 50 %. This has been confirmed through tests carried out by the independent test house “Bioprocess Institute”, which installed, tested and positively evaluated the diaphragms of Bürkert diaphragm valves in accordance with ASME BPE Appendix J Exposure Conditions (SIP and CIP). Thanks to a bayonet catch, thread or button fastener, the actual diaphragms are quick and easy to replace, e. g. when changing products. The pressure piece is automatically prevented from falling out, which provides added safety during day-to-day installation operations and saves time. In addition to the reworked contact surfaces, axial sealing lips have been incorporated into the diaphragm valves to minimise wear during continuous operation. This enables better grouting and reduced spring force with an unchanged diaphragm surface. www.cpp-net.com Online search: cpp0318bürkert Hall 5, Booth D40 katalog_V1_92x65_4c_en.indd 1 15.03.2011 09:54:33 Check Valves made of stainless steel November 27-29, 2018 Hall 5, Booth No. D27 cpp 03-2018 27 www.weh.com
