THE RESTAURANT | DECK 2 TULLA ELIESON 1950 • NORWAY • PORCELAIN Tulla Elieson is a Norwegian artist who mainly works with clay. Her characteristic form of expression is large, round plates of thin ceramics strongly inspired by the visual forms of coastal rock slopes and shells found on the beach. The plates are tactile and demonstrate a deep understanding of the materials used. Over the years, Elieson has developed a special talent and positioned herself as one of Norway’s most prominent creative artists in large-scale ceramics. Her basic shapes are essentially the circle and the square, produced as black surfaces that create fine refractions. 47
