NetJets EU Summer 2023

NOTES FROM NETJETS

NOTES FROM NETJETS CREWMEMBER PROFILE ROLANDA COSTA Cabin crew, Global/Falcon/Challenger 350 MY FIRST EXPOSURE TO FLYING WAS … on a 747 from Lisbon to Mozambique, where I was born, and I got to visit the cockpit. That was impressive for a five-year-old girl. THE BEST PART OF FLYING IS … well, there are several. Every day, every flight and all the Owners are different, and we organise each flight accordingly to these different profiles. Then there are the wonderful destinations and being able to visit my friends abroad. And finally – there is no routine. BEFORE JOINING THE NETJETS TEAM, I WAS … a purser for Portugália Airlines. THE ONE DAY AT NETJETS I WON’T FORGET WAS … the day I received the letter saying that I was going to be part of this wonderful family. It was almost 23 years ago and I remember every word! JULIAN RENTZSCH ONE THING OWNERS PROBABLY WOULDN’T GUESS ABOUT ME IS … that I volunteer at the Cancer Institute (Children’s Ward) in Lisbon and I practise a therapy called Reiki [a Japanese form of energy healing], for children and the families staying with them. I also volunteer at the Ronald McDonald house [which offers support and free accommodation to families with children undergoing hospital treatment in one of the hospitals belonging to the Centro Hospitalar Lisboa Central] and I have a beautiful threeyear-old Australian shepherd dog called Mia. ON MY DAYS OFF … I take my dog for long walks, do yoga, meditate, volunteer. Sleep! WITHIN THE NEXT YEAR, I WOULD LIKE TO … get to know more about dogs, and maybe become a dog trainer. WITHIN THE NEXT TEN YEARS, I WOULD LIKE TO … look back and be proud. MY BEST ADVICE FOR STAYING SANE ACROSS TIME ZONES IS … to stay in the local time always! Even if it’s only for one day. MY PROUDEST MOMENT AS A CREWMEMBER WAS … surprising a 10-year-old Portuguese passenger by using sign language. Her family were frequent flyers, so i took a few classes just because of her. I will never forget their faces when I started interacting with her. 32 NetJets
