facsimiles xxxiii For perusal purposes only 9. Some of the Call Signs which were commissioned from the Lancastrian Walton, together with a Prelude (C75), by the Manchesterbased TV company Granada in 1962. The fifteen call signs lasted between three and four seconds and were designed to suit the various types of programme that followed. In the event, they were never used, but Walton had clearly amused himself by writing them in different styles for a variety of instruments. Reproduced by kind permission of the Frederick R. Koch Collection, Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library, Yale University.
