I NEWS I The Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris experience This year's event will welcome 2,800 exhibitors and 25,000 buyers from the wine and spirits industry under one roof All of France's wine regions will be in attendance at the show, alongside representatives from 32 countries. A number of exclusive features have been added to this year's event alongside the all time favourites, including a new WineTech Perspectives area in Hall 4 which aims to help the industry respond to new market challenges. The new concept, in collaboration with La Wine Tech and Vinocamp, features 30 startups and a forum of hard hitting speakers discussing innovative solutions in discovery, choices, storage, consumption, wine buying. More than 80 restaurants and bars, cheerypicked for their selection of wines and spirits, have also been enlisted to host off-site events so visitors can explore the capital over the three days as part of the OFF programme. A number of 2020 events are also back by popular demand, including Wine Talks, round table discussions on key industry topics and a series of debates on the future and challenges of French wine overseas. Visitors will also find their favourite staples, including tastings, masterclasses and the Nouvelle Vague area, featuring 40 young producers looking to establish their first distribution networks. Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris aims to help these entrepreneurs with less than 5 years experience in the industry launch their business by connecting them with buyers. A selection of 1,500 wines from all French regions and many vineyards around the world will be available to browse. Visitors can also chose from a range of masterclasses, ranging from a pairing battle curated by the World’s 5 Best ASI Sommeliers to a Tre Bicchieri tasting organised by Gambero Rosso. Hall 5 will be reserved for international producers and will host a series of events and tasting where visitors will have the chance to sample some of the finest wines from overseas, chosen specially by the World’s Best Sommeliers. Over in Hall 6, will showcase the diversity of wines from Alsace, Beaujolais, Burgundy, Centre-Loire, Champagne and the Loire Valley, as well as other regions with cooler climates. Also this year, Be Spirits, an area reserved for the harder liquors at the heart of Wine Paris & Vinexpo Paris, will have 61% more floor space compared with 2020. It will welcome 121 exhibitors, 65% of whom will be attending for the first time, from a wide range of countries including Germany, Belgium, Cyprus, Denmark, Spain, United States, Norway, Hong Kong, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Poland, Rumania, United Kingdom, Russia and Venezuela. The area is designed so visitors can discover new spirits and complement their portfolios, all while learning about the latest trends through masterclasses and conferences. Visitors will have the chance to sample some of the finest cocktails made with spirits from the four corners of the world, given a third of this year's exhibitors are coming from abroad. The bar will also provide a stage for the best local mixologists to showcase their talents and an opportunity for brands, famous and rising, to put their best foot forward. Visitors can pick their brains about the latest premium and craft trends while honing their knowledge through a series of masterclasses and conferences. It will welcome actors from all strands of the industry, including importers, distributors, key buyers, specialist media, bloggers, opinion leaders, major e-commerce brands, travel retail, restaurant chains, duty free. Visitors will discover new tipples from the 14 categories represented at the event, including Armagnac, Calvados, Cognac, brandies, Gin, Grappa, Ready-to-Drink (RTD), Rum, Sake, Shochu, Umeshu, Vermouth, Vodka and Whisky.
