NEWS Advertorial Emmanuel Vergely Worldwide Export Manager, BESTHEIM Grands Vins d’Alsace NEW WINE FROM #1 GRAND CRU PRODUCER IN ALSACE BESTHEIM Grands Vins d’Alsace are presenting their latest wine – Le Kaefferkopf – at Vinexpo Bordeaux this year. We asked the company’s Worldwide Export Manager, Emmanuel Vergely, to tell us more… There are 51 different Grands Crus in Alsace. The last classified was the Kaefferkopf. This single vineyard is very special, because it is the only Alsace Grand Cru where we are allowed to blend noble grapes to produce a Grand Cru. This wine is made from 60% Gewurztraminer – 20% Pinot Gris – 20% Riesling. It’s a real firework of flavours with a beautiful end on freshness. Now, BESTHEIM own this rare Grand Cru in our portfolio and we are very proud about it. You are presenting yourself as the #1 producer of Grands Crus in the region. How is this measured? BESTHEIM is the first producer of Alsace Grands Crus, as we have 21 different Grands Crus among the most famous of the vineyards (from a total of 51). We are producing around 300,000 bottles of Grands Crus per year; a production which is a strong advantage for our partners to develop new markets on stable quantities and quality. Some of them are very limited production but our “flagship” cuvée is definitely the Riesling Grand Cru Schlossberg (the oldest and biggest Grand Cru in Alsace). Hall 1, Stand BC112 Ready to Blend?
