FRANK’S INTL. DONATES $50K THROUGH CRAWFISH BOILLong time KICKSTART KIDS supporter, Frank’sInternational, held its 28th annual OTC Crawfish Boilon Tuesday, May 3rd. Guests were asked to donatefunds to KICKSTART KIDS in exchange for anevening full of crawfish and entertainment. Theevening featured a live Cajun band and performancesfrom KICKSTART KIDS’ Landrum Middle School andHouston City Wide Demo Teams.We are so proud of our customers and areasupporters for helping us with this effort,” said KeithMosing, Chairman and CEO. “KICKSTART KIDS is awonderful program and we are happy to contributeto the positive impact they are making in children’slives.” Mr. Mosing along with his staff presentedthe donation check of $50,000 to Tammy Benefiel,KICKSTART KIDS’ Houston Area CommunityDevelopment Manager (pictured above.)KICKSTART KIDS has been the beneficiary ofthe Frank’s International Crawfish Boil for 10 years.This year’s event hosted 1,700 attendees and serveda total of 13,000 pounds of Louisiana crawfish.Frank’s International provides the broadest rangeof tubular technologies for drilling and completionsworldwide. This Spring of 2012 was noexception to the rule. Students werebusy preparing for tournaments,belt ceremonies, demo teamperformances, in-school testing;all while anticipating the end of theschool year.This past Spring studentscompeted in the Houston CityQualifier as well as the StateChampionships. The Houston CityQualifier was held at Dulles MiddleSchool and featured studentsfrom local area Houston schoolscompeting for a spot at the StateChampionship which was held thefollowing month.KICKSTART KIDS AREA UPDATESCENTRAL TEXASFROM PAM OWENSThe Central TexasTeam wishes to extenda warm welcome to ournew City Leader WarrenScott. Warren brings awealth of knowledgeand talent and will bethe perfect addition tothe team. A big thank you goes out toall of our parents who have tirelesslyvolunteered for our tournaments andevents throughout the year. A specialmention goes to Rebecca Doty whoorganized parent volunteers andplayed a big role in logistics andplanning for our events.Central Texas is gearing up forthe summer karate program as wellas a focus on instructor training anddevelopment. Everystudent that competed in the StateChampionship first had to place atthe City Qualifier as well as the CityChampionship to be eligible.We are very proud of all of ourKICKSTART KIDS students.Spring also marks thesecond round of belt ceremoniesfor students earning new beltranks. Parents, school faculty andfriends that joined us at the beltceremony witnessed the student’shard work and sacrifice over thepast year.NORTH TEXASFROM MARISSA LEACHThe North TexasCommunity AdvisoryBoard is currentlyreviewing its goals andaction plan by developinga self-sustainingmodel for KSK.Kevin Mitchell, North Texas’Community Advisory BoardChairman, and I have beenmeeting with each memberindividually for their feedback andlevel of commitment. Each memberhas a unique area of expertise thatwe hope to match with their area ofinterest. One of the Skeeters staffmembers approached me shortly after theperformance and said that the studentswere “truly amazing and captivating”.The Citywide Demo Team has beenextremely gracious attending several eventsin the past year, dedicating their time andtalents to help support our mission andraise awareness for our cause. Thank youso much Citywide, we appreciate you!KSK is to receive 50% of all dedicatedKSK tickets sold at the Skeeters game.I saw a lot of KSK t-shirts representingus throughout the ballpark. A big thankyou to all of the parents and students thatcame to support us.
