CPRH Update
I
am pleased to report that Hayle’s unique
Community Emergency Tri-Service Station has
been completed with staff moving in from the
start of March.
From day one of this 2 week testing week the crew from
Hayle have been mobilised with the local crews to house fires
at Penzance, Helston and Penryn, a difficult chimney fire in
Porthleven and a reported RTC in Redruth. Another big thank
you to all those personnel on the incident ground who have
supported and guided the Hayle crew on these incidents, to
gain as much experience as possible.
The new Tri-Service Station is the first in the UK to have been
designed and built for the three Service’s needs (Police,
Ambulance and Fire & Rescue) and provides Hayle and its
surrounding communities with an improved emergency
response capability as well as a facility that in time will support
a range of community activities.
Our site at Tolvaddon is also progressing
well. The new Community Fire and Rescue
Station serving Camborne, Pool and
Redruth will be completed in May with the
Service Headquarters which will house the
Critical Control Centre, Community Safety
and Supplies and Transport Workshops
scheduled to open in the summer. We do of
course recognise that this depends on there
being no sustained periods of inclement
weather which could cause delays with the
construction process.
The two projects represent significant
investment in infrastructure which will both
enhance the provision of community safety
and emergency response enabling Cornwall
Fire and Rescue Service to further enhance its
contribution to making Cornwall safer.
