Voorwoord<br />
Foreword<br />
In september vindt de veertiende editie van de<br />
<strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> plaats. Wij nodigen u<br />
uit om hierbij aanwezig te zijn.<br />
Verleden jaar hebben we de overstap gemaakt<br />
naar Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen. Deze<br />
overgang is goed verlopen; we zijn er ontzettend<br />
goed ontvangen. Bovendien hebben we de lijn<br />
van Weert kunnen voortzetten. De faciliteiten<br />
die we in Kronenberg tot onze beschikking<br />
hebben, zijn uniek.<br />
Ieder jaar maken we de balans op. Zijn onze<br />
klanten tevreden? De beste meetinstrumenten<br />
zijn de resultaten die de verkochte paarden<br />
behalen. We kwamen tot de conclusie dat<br />
ze het uitstekend doen. Meerdere paarden<br />
behaalden 5-sterren klasseringen en zelfs een<br />
overwinning. Een bijzonder moment voor ons<br />
dit jaar was de finale voor jonge springpaarden<br />
in Aken: daarin waren maar liefst drie DSHSpaarden<br />
te zien! Dat zijn mooie momenten om<br />
op terug te kijken. Maar lang terugkijken zit niet<br />
in onze aard. Wij kijken naar voren. Dat doen<br />
we wederom door u een goede collectie aan te<br />
bieden. Ik denk dat ons dat weer gelukt is. Het<br />
is een brede collectie met veel kwaliteit. Het<br />
zijn talenten die, in onze ogen, de stap kunnen<br />
maken naar de jonge paarden competities op<br />
internationaal niveau.<br />
Laat uzelf de komende weken overtuigen door<br />
de collectie. We kijken er met ons hele team<br />
naar uit om u voorafgaand aan, en tijdens de<br />
veiling, met raad en daad bij te staan.<br />

The fourteenth edition of the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> will take place in September and<br />
we would like to invite you to attend our event.<br />
Last year, we moved to Equestrian Centre de<br />
Peelbergen in Kronenberg. The move went well,<br />
and we were very well received. In addition,<br />
we were able to keep the same layout and<br />
actitivies we all enjoyed at our previous venue<br />
in Weert. The Kronenberg venue features<br />
unique amenities.<br />
Every year we do a thorough review of the<br />
evening of the DSHS. Are our clients satisfied?<br />
The best measuring instruments with which<br />
to make that determination are the results<br />
achieved by the horses we sell. We concluded<br />
that they are doing outstandingly: multiple<br />
DSHS horses achieved five-star rankings and<br />
even a victory. A special moment for us this<br />
year was the final for young show jumpers in<br />
Aachen in which three DSHS horses competed!<br />
Those are wonderful moments to look back<br />
upon. However, it’s not our nature to look back<br />
for long. We look forward, and we do that by<br />
bringing you another good collection. I believe<br />
we have succeeded in that endeavor once<br />
again. The collection is broad with abundant<br />
talent. They are talents, who in our view, can<br />
advance to the young horse competitions at<br />
the international level.<br />
Let the collection convince you in the coming<br />
weeks. We look forward to working with our<br />
entire team to assist you before and during<br />
the auction.<br />

Emile, Paul, Timothy & Michel Hendrix<br />
De familie Hendrix runt één van de bekendste<br />
en meest succesvolle spring- en<br />
handelsstallen van de wereld. Door hun<br />
betrokkenheid en kennis van getalenteerde<br />
paarden hebben zij in de paardenhandel<br />
een wereldwijde klantenkring opgebouwd.<br />
Paul streeft naar perfectie en hij heeft er<br />
oog voor om de beste jonge paarden op te<br />
sporen. Samen met de ruiterervaring van<br />
Emile voelen zij samen feilloos aan wat<br />
een sportpaard in zijn of haar mars heeft.<br />
In 2016 zijn Timothy, zoon van Emile, en<br />
Michel, zoon van Paul, officieel toegetreden<br />
tot de selectiecommissie. Dankzij hun<br />
sportervaring, ruitergevoel en jarenlange<br />
betrokkenheid bij de veiling zijn zij een<br />
perfecte aanvulling op de commissie. Voor<br />
de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> zullen deze<br />
hippische ondernemers zich vol overgave<br />
inzetten voor de beste selectie van jonge<br />
springpaarden. Met de DSHS kunnen zij<br />
hun klantenkring in een perfecte ambiance<br />
een goed samengestelde collectie jonge<br />
springpaarden presenteren.<br />
Yves Houtackers<br />
Na ruim 12,5 jaar werkzaam te zijn geweest<br />
bij Equestrian Center ‘De IJzeren<br />
Man’ te Weert, is Yves in 2007 zijn eigen<br />
hippische onderneming gestart: Springstal<br />
Yves Houtackers B.V. Hij heeft zijn ervaring<br />
en kennis mede opgedaan bij de Zweedse<br />
top-amazone Malin Baryard en de Duitser<br />
Marcus Ehning. Inmiddels is Yves zelf succesvol<br />
in de springsport en traint hij een<br />
groot aantal internationale ruiters. Sinds<br />
2014 is Yves ook directeur sportief bij het<br />
CHIO Rotterdam. Voor de ontwikkeling van<br />
de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> is het van be-<br />

The Hendrix family runs one of the best<br />
known and most successful show jumping<br />
and trading yards in the world. Through<br />
their involvement and knowledge of talented<br />
horses, they have built up a worldwide<br />
clientele in horse trading. Paul strives for<br />
perfection and has an eye for scouting<br />
the best young horses. Along with Emile’s<br />
experience as a top rider they flawlessly<br />
sense whether or not a sport horse<br />
has what it takes. Since 2016 Emile’s son<br />
Timothy and Paul’s son Michel have officially<br />
joined the selection committee. Thanks<br />
to their experience in the sport, aptitude for<br />
show jumping and years of involvement in<br />
the auction they are a perfect addition to<br />
the committee. For the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong> these equine entrepreneurs work<br />
diligently to select the best young show<br />
jumpers. With the DSHS they are able to<br />
present their customers a well composed<br />
collection of young show jumpers in a perfect<br />
setting.<br />
Yves Houtackers<br />
After 12.5 years of employment at<br />
Equestrian Center ‘De IJzeren Man’ in Weert,<br />
Yves started his own equestrian business<br />
in 2007: Springstal Yves Houtackers B.V.<br />
He gained experience and knowledge working<br />
with Swedish top rider Malin Baryard<br />
and German Marcus Ehning. Meanwhile<br />
Yves himself is successful in show jumping<br />
and he trains a large number of international<br />
riders. Since 2014 Yves is also the<br />
sports director of the CHIO Rotterdam. For<br />
the development of the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong> it is important that a rider like Yves<br />
shares responsibility for the selection of<br />

Engle) voortbracht. De knap gemodelleerde<br />
Inostello M is daarbij een volle broer van<br />
het succesvolle DSHS-springpaard Belle<br />
van Paris Sellon en Lauren Hough en van<br />
Leon Thijssens Cristello. Inostello M is een<br />
jeugdig paard met geweldige bewegingen en<br />
veel vermogen op de sprong. Deze Numero<br />
Uno-zoon lijkt de potentie te hebben om<br />

Ibeau SMH<br />
De vierjarige Ibeau SMH beschikt over<br />
een mooi exterieur en stamt af van de<br />
springpaardenleverancier Quasimodo<br />
Z. Deze Quidam de Revel-zoon behoort<br />
meer en meer tot de beste verervers van<br />
zijn generatie met vele nakomelingen die<br />
doorbreken op het hoogste niveau, zoals<br />
Callisto (Cian O’Connor), Garfield de Tij des<br />
Templiers (Jèrôme Guéry), Dickyville (Doron<br />
Kuipers) en VDL Groep Idi Utopia (Maikel<br />
van der Vleuten). Ibeau SMH viel als jong<br />
paard op op de KWPN Hengstenkeuring en<br />
blijkt ook in rijkwaliteiten uit te blinken. De<br />
Quasimodo Z-zoon heeft zich bijzonder<br />
goed doorontwikkeld en beschikt over veel<br />
atletisch vermogen. Ook in de Stal Hendrixcompetitie<br />
gooide Ibeau SMH hoge ogen en<br />
bereikte hij de finale.<br />
Ibeau SMH<br />
Four-year-old Ibeau SMH, a horse with<br />
beautiful conformation, is a son of the<br />
jumper sire Quasimodo Z. This Quidam<br />
de Revel son is proving more and more to<br />
be among the best sires of his generation.<br />
He boasts numerous offspring which have<br />
advanced to the highest level, such as<br />
Callisto (Cian O’Connor), Garfield de Tij des<br />
Templiers (Jèrôme Guéry), Dickyville (Doron<br />
Kuipers) and VDL Groep Idi Utopia (Maikel<br />
van der Vleuten). As a youngster, Ibeau SMH<br />
drew notice at the KWPN Stallion Show and<br />
now excels in his rideability. The Quasimodo<br />
Z son has developed very well and has<br />
abundant athletic talent. Ibeau SMH also<br />
excelled in the Stal Hendrix competition in<br />
which he advanced to the final.<br />

Iris<br />
De vierjarige Iris werd begin van het seizoen in<br />
Brabant gescout door Stal Hendrix en bleef zich<br />
onder het zadel van Tim van den Oetelaar ook in de<br />
Stal Hendrix-competitie ontwikkelen. Na een derde<br />
en tweede plaats op de selectiewedstrijden in<br />
Kronenberg en Reuver behaalde deze Starpowerdochter<br />
in de finale voor de vierjarigen uiteindelijk<br />
een verdienstelijke achtste plaats met daarbij<br />
achten voor zowel springen als het gaan in het<br />
parcours. Vader Starpower sprong op Grand Prixniveau<br />
onder Zoï Snels en voert het waardevolle<br />
bloed van de Hannoveraanse topvererver<br />
Stakkato. Moedersvader Larino is eveneens een<br />
invloedrijke hengst gebleken en de moederlijn van<br />
Iris gaf al eerdere internationale toppaarden, zoals<br />
Aris CMS van Janika Sprunger. Iris valt op door<br />
haar geweldige springvermogen en goede reflexen<br />
en lijkt een paard met heel veel toekomst.<br />

Four-year-old Iris was scouted by Stal Hendrix at<br />
the beginning of the season in Brabant. In the Stal<br />
Hendrix competition, she developed well under Tim<br />

daughter Swingli, a former international show<br />
jumper. Applaus has produced numerous<br />
talented jumpers, among them the Isah<br />

Vincent Voorn; the KWPN stallion selection<br />
champion Elion V; and Elisabeth, who was<br />
sold through DSHS and is ridden by Line<br />
Karlsen Raaholt. Hands Up has developed<br />
well, and he qualified for the final of the Stal<br />
Hendrix competition for five-year-olds. With<br />
his very good form and great carefulness, he<br />

allerbeste paarden ter wereld. De zilveren medaille<br />

Interview - Sarah Stevenson-Borthwick<br />
“Every year we think the quality cannot possibly get better, but it does”<br />
Sarah Stevenson-Borthwick and her family have<br />
been very loyal buyers at the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong> auction over the past ten years. Since<br />
the edition of 2007, the Stevenson family has<br />
purchased no less than ten horses at the auction,<br />
which they describe as one of the highlights of<br />
the year. “Every year we think it cannot possibly<br />
get better, but it does get better every year,” Sarah<br />
Stevenson-Borthwick states.<br />
It all started about ten years ago when Sarah and<br />
her family were introduced to Paul Hendrix. “In<br />
that year we bought our first horse in the auction:<br />
VIP. We’ve had him for ten years now, and he’s still<br />
jumping and still winning. He’s taken me from<br />
jumping the small classes as a young horse to<br />
jumping my very first 1.40m class. He’s taught me<br />
a lot over the years and thanks to what he’s given<br />
me, I’ve been able to ride all these great horses. He’s<br />
fifteen now and owes me absolutely nothing,” says<br />
Sarah Stevenson-Borthwick about the family’s first<br />
purchase at the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> auction.<br />
Since 2007, almost every edition has included a<br />
suitable horse for Sarah. “Generally, we like to buy<br />
five-year-olds because they’re not as green as fouryear-olds,<br />
but there’s still some learning to do. I<br />
enjoy putting that work in myself.” Sarah thinks Stal<br />
Hendrix knows exactly the kind of horse that people<br />
want. “When looking at horses, I’m particular about<br />
what I’m looking for so we seek advice from Paul,<br />
who recommends horses for me to try, as he knows<br />
exactly what horses suit me. The nice thing is that<br />
the horses are always exactly how they’re described<br />
in the <strong>catalogue</strong> and what Paul says about them. It’s<br />
very nice to buy these horses and be sure that they<br />
are exactly what you think they are.”<br />
The horses the family has purchased over the<br />
years have been very successful. “One horse we<br />

bought six years ago is Blatinka. He’s jumping very<br />
consistently with me in the 1.30m and does many<br />
double-clear results. Two years ago, we bought two<br />
horses, Farianne and Famous. They’re seven now<br />
and truly have been outstanding. They feel like very<br />
special horses and I think in the next two or three<br />
years, I can jump some good classes with them<br />
and hopefully be very competitive as well.”<br />
One of the most successful horses the Stevenson<br />
family has ever purchased at the auction is Apart,<br />
one of the current top horses of Belgian rider Pieter<br />
Devos. “Apart is truly a superstar. In the auction,<br />
Apart was not going for as much money as we<br />
expected, so my dad bought him with the idea of<br />
maybe selling him later on. For me he was quite a<br />
big horse, so we had another rider for him, but he got<br />
into an accident so I took over. I put some flatwork<br />
on the horse, but in the ring he was just a bit too big<br />
for me, so after a while we sent him to Paul. And<br />
now he is one of the best horses in Europe! I’m very<br />
proud to see how this horse is doing and I feel proud<br />
to have been a part of his career.”<br />
Obviously, Sarah Stevenson-Borthwick and her<br />
family are very excited about this year’s auction,<br />
which they will attend. “Being present at the auction<br />
is very exciting; it’s such a good atmosphere, and<br />
it’s really nice to see all the horses - even the ones<br />
that aren’t for you. During the auction, you can<br />
really feel the adrenaline. You can see who you’re<br />
bidding against; and in general, it’s nice to see<br />
where all the horses are going,” Sarah Stevenson-<br />
Borthwick concludes.<br />

“‘I have very high hopes for Chica B Z’”<br />
Two years ago, Swiss top rider Martin Fuchs and<br />
his sponsor Adolfo Juri purchased the now eightyear-old<br />
mare Chica B Z in the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong><br />
<strong>Sales</strong>. Although the purchase of Chica B Z was a<br />
somewhat spontaneous decision, Fuchs could not<br />
be happier with the development of this Canturano<br />
daughter. He believes the mare has a great future<br />
ahead of her.<br />
“The purchase of Chica B Z is actually a very funny<br />
story,” Fuchs begins. “My sponsor, Adolfo Juri, and<br />
I were present at the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> and<br />
tried four horses. During the auction we started<br />
bidding on these horses, but unfortunately we<br />
couldn’t buy any of them. So we were obviously<br />
very disappointed.”<br />
experience and isn’t too impressed with all these<br />
great venues. For instance in Aachen, the first<br />
day she was maybe a little green, but in the final<br />
she was very nice,” Fuchs explains. Chica B Z is<br />
not the first DSHS horse in Martin Fuchs’ stables:<br />
the highly successful Dino (s. Vingino) was also<br />
purchased through DSHS.<br />
“Mr. Juri already owned Dino and had purchased<br />
him through <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>. He brought<br />
Dino into our stables and because he was such<br />
a good horse, we went back to look for another<br />
good horse at the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>. Dino<br />
was sold to the USA and has already jumped some<br />
1.60m Grand Prix with the Irish rider, Captain Brian<br />
Cournane,” Fuchs tells.<br />
But then Chica B Z entered the ring as the last<br />
horse in the auction. “We hadn’t noticed Chica B<br />
Z before, but when she came in, Mr. Juri said: ‘This<br />
one looks nice as well.’ I thought the same thing,<br />
and we decided to buy her,” Fuchs tells. Although<br />
they thought she was a talented horse, they did<br />
not immediately think she would become the<br />
horse she is today. “We thought she was a nice<br />
horse, but she was very green at that moment;<br />
maybe she was one of the greenest horses of the<br />
auction. We started jumping her in small classes<br />
to give her experience, and I could feel she had all<br />
the quality. Although we didn’t notice her at first,<br />
she has turned out to be possibly the best horse of<br />
the auction that year,” Fuchs smiles.<br />
Because of the great success Fuchs has had<br />
with the horses purchased at the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>, he continues to return. “Last year,<br />
I wasn’t there, but my father was there; and this<br />
year, I’m planning on going again. I don’t go to<br />
too many auctions, but what’s excellent about<br />
DSHS is that literally every horse in the auction<br />
is a nice horse. They’re well trained, and all of<br />
them are good jumpers - of course some better<br />
than others, but there are only nice horses in the<br />
collection,” Fuchs concludes.<br />
This year, Chica B Z stepped up to the bigger CSI5*<br />
shows, and so far, she is handling them very well.<br />
She jumped clear rounds in Hamburg, Treffen and<br />
Aachen; and she jumped outstandingly in her first<br />
1.50m at CHIO Rotterdam. “I think she’s a horse<br />
with quality, and I have very high hopes for her.<br />
She’s extremely careful, and now she has more<br />

Hind is een dochter van Vittorio - één van<br />
de goed verervende dekhengsten van Stal<br />
Hendrix. Hind is gefokt uit een elitemerrie<br />
van de stempelhengst Tangelo van de<br />
Zuuthoeve en heeft met overgrootvader<br />
Lux drie topverervers op rij in haar pedigree.<br />
Hind werd als veulen aangekocht door<br />
Stal Hendrix en doorliep daar haar gehele<br />
opleiding. Op concours krijgt Hind altijd<br />
veel bekijks en interesse en dat bewees<br />
zij dit jaar in de Stal Hendrix-competitie,<br />
waarin Hind zich overtuigend voor de finale<br />
plaatste. Hind is een aantrekkelijk paard dat<br />
opvalt door haar goede manier van springen.<br />
Deze Vittorio-dochter lijkt zeer geschikt voor<br />
de hogere sport.<br />
Hind<br />
Hind’s sire is Vittorio, one of Stal Hendrix’s<br />
good breeding stallions. Hind’s dam is<br />
an elite mare by the foundation stallion<br />
Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve; and with her<br />
great-grandsire Lux, she features three<br />
consecutive outstanding sires in her<br />
pedigree. Stal Hendrix acquired Hind as<br />
a foal and trained her exclusively. On the<br />
show grounds, Hind always turns heads and<br />
attracts interest, which she proved again in<br />
this year’s Stal Hendrix competition in which<br />
she convincingly qualified for the final.<br />
Hind is an attractive horse that stands out<br />
with her good way of jumping. This Vittorio<br />
daughter is very suited for the higher levels<br />

een zeer succesvolle moederlijn. Haar moeder<br />
Daranta is namelijk de halfzus van de beroemde<br />
Grand Prix-springpaarden Oranta van Chris<br />
Kappler en de KWPN-goedgekeurde hengst<br />
Warrant van Henk van de Pol, Alberto Michan<br />
Halbinger en Mark Bluman. Daarnaast gaf<br />
grootmoeder Karanta nog meer internationale<br />
springpaarden, zoals Taranta (Mathijs van<br />
Asten) en Atlanta (Francesca Capponi). Haranta<br />
viel al van begin af aan op tijdens de wedstrijden<br />
voor jonge springpaarden en werd aangekocht<br />
door Niels Knape en verder opgeleid door Nicole<br />
Mestrom. Met gemak plaatste Haranta zich<br />
voor de finale van de Stal Hendrix-competitie<br />
en daarin behaalde de Zirocco Blue-dochter<br />
een mooie derde plaats met een 8,5 voor zowel<br />
springen als gaan tussen de hindernissen.<br />
Haranta<br />
The five-year-old grey mare Haranta is a product<br />
of a very successful dam-line. Her dam Daranta<br />
is a half-sister to the renowned Grand Prix show<br />
jumpers Oranta, ridden by Chris Kappler; and<br />
the KWPN-approved stallion Warrant, ridden by<br />
Henk van de Pol, Alberto Michan Halbinger and<br />
Mark Bluman. In addition, Haranta’s granddam<br />
Karanta is the dam of other international<br />
horses, including Taranta (Mathijs van Asten)<br />
and Atlanta (Francesca Capponi). Haranta, who<br />
immediately drew praise at the competitions for<br />
young show jumpers, was purchased by Niels<br />
Knape and further trained by Nicole Mestrom.<br />
Haranta easily qualified for the final of the Stal<br />
Hendrix competition in which the Zirocco Blue<br />
daughter placed third with an 8.5 for jumping as<br />

Goliath is een schimmelruin van de succesvolle<br />
hengst Bustique, die onder Michel Hendrix furore<br />
maakte en vervolgens naar de Verenigde Staten werd<br />
geëxporteerd. Goliath’s moeder Zoelina is een dochter<br />
van Coriano en bracht al verschillende goede paarden.<br />
Eén daarvan is de Vingino-zoon Dino die via de DSHS<br />
onder het zadel van Anna-Julia Kontio kwam en<br />
tegenwoordig door de Ier Captain Brian Cournane op<br />
1.60m-niveau wordt uitgebracht. Daarbij gaf Zoelina ook<br />
al de Carambole-merrie Elina die internationaal acteert<br />
met Alise Oken. Deze wapenfeiten zijn allesbehalve<br />
frappant, want het betreft hier namelijk de ijzersterke<br />
Oberlina-lijn. Zo is Zoelina tevens de halfzus van Grand<br />
Prix-springpaarden als Barino (Marc Bettinger) en<br />
Torano (Caorlyn Curcio). Onder het zadel van Nicole<br />
Mestrom toonde Goliath zich een zeer compleet paard<br />

Goliath is a grey gelding by the successful stallion<br />
Bustique, who caused a craze under Michel Hendrix<br />
before being exported to the United States. Goliath’s<br />
dam Zoelina, a Coriano daughter, has produced several<br />
good horses. Among them is the Vingino son Dino,<br />
who came under the saddle of Anna-Julia Kontio<br />
via DSHS and currently competes at 1.60m level<br />
under Captain Brian Cournane of Ireland. In addition,<br />
Zoelina produced the Carambole daughter Elina, who<br />
competes internationally under Alise Oken. However,<br />
these achievements are far from remarkable, given that<br />
we’re dealing with the solid Oberlina-line. For example,<br />
Zoelina is also a half-sister to Grand Prix show jumpers<br />

Deze zesjarige merrie Galway Girl uit de<br />
welbekende Molga-stam is een volle zus van<br />
de vorig jaar op de DSHS geveilde Falony.<br />
Inmiddels springt Falony succesvol in de<br />
wedstrijden voor zevenjarigen met de familie<br />
Crooks. Het ziet ernaar uit dat Galway Girl<br />
eenzelfde weg kan bewandelen als haar volle<br />
zus en is in alles al een heel compleet paard.<br />
Deze Cardento-dochter komt dus voort<br />
uit de Molga-stam, die vele internationale<br />
springpaarden leverde, waaronder de<br />
olympische springpaarden The Shinto<br />
(Shuichi Toki) en Linky (Tim Grubb), die in<br />
1984 olympisch zilver won met het Britse<br />
team. Galway Girl valt keer op keer positief<br />
op en tot nu toe doet ze alle dingen die haar<br />

looks like Galway Girl will follow the same<br />
path as her full-sister and is a very complete<br />
horse in every way. This Cardento daughter<br />
is out of the Molga-line, which has produced<br />
numerous international show jumpers,<br />
among them the Olympic jumpers The Shinto<br />
(Shuichi Toki) and Linky (Tim Grubb), who<br />
won Olympic silver in 1984 with the British<br />
team. Time after time, Galway Girl garners<br />
positive attention and to this day performs<br />

zich voor de finale van de jonge springpaarden<br />
op de prestigieuze Dublin <strong>Horse</strong> Show. Belle<br />
du Courtil is een Kannan-nakomeling zoals<br />
je ze graag ziet: bloed, lichtvoetigheid en de<br />
wil om naar de overkant te springen. Belle<br />
du Courtil lijkt alle ingrediënten in zich te<br />

Show. Belle du Courtil is the type of Kannan<br />
offspring we like to see: she possesses<br />
“blood,” light-footedness and the will to jump<br />
to the other side of the obstacle. She has all<br />
the qualities needed to develop into an elite<br />
horse. Other notable horses in this talented<br />
mare’s pedigree include the Grand Prix<br />
stallion Luccianno, a Burggraaf son; and Col<br />

Fortuna) van Emma Augier de Moussac.<br />
Game Boy doorliep zijn hele opleiding bij<br />
Stal Hendrix en deed de meeste ervaring<br />
op op de Belgische concoursen. Game Boy<br />
heeft een eigen manier van springen, maar is<br />
zeer voorzichtig. Zijn ongekende vermogen<br />
en instelling in de ring maakt Game Boy een<br />
bijzonder paard uit deze collectie. Game<br />
Boy is een paard waar de verwachtingen<br />

Try outs<br />
Wanneer u naar aanleiding van de catalogus<br />
geïnteresseerd bent in een van de paarden dan<br />
biedt de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> u de mogelijkheid<br />
om in aanloop naar de veiling de paarden<br />
te bezichtigen en eventueel te berijden. Voor<br />
een eventuele bezichtiging kunt u een afspraak<br />
maken met de organisatie van de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong><br />
<strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>.<br />

Verzekering<br />
Tijdens de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> is Xcellent<br />
<strong>Horse</strong> Insurance aanwezig om u de mogelijkheid<br />
te bieden om uw aangekochte paard te<br />
verzekeren tot 13 dagen na de veiling. U heeft<br />
daarbij de keuze uit verschillende verzekeringen.<br />
Veterinaire rapporten<br />
De paarden die via de veiling verkocht zullen<br />
worden zijn ten laatste 3 maanden voorafgaande<br />
aan de veiling röntgenologisch in orde bevonden.<br />
Een gebruikelijke klinische (sportpaarden-)<br />
keuring heeft ten laatste twee weken vóór de<br />
veiling plaatsgevonden.<br />

the horses in the run-up to the auction. To<br />

to try any horse on request afterwards. Trial rides<br />
are exclusively and entirely at your own risk.<br />
Insurance<br />
During the <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> Xcellent<br />
<strong>Horse</strong> Insurance will be present to offer you the<br />
possibility of insuring the horse(s) you have<br />
purchased. It is possible to insure the horse(s)<br />
for up to 13 days after the auction, with an option<br />
to extend. There is a choice of insurances<br />
offered.<br />
Veterinary reports<br />
The horses sold through the auction have been<br />
found to be in good condition following a radiographic<br />
test conducted at least three months<br />
prior to the auction. A standard clinical examination<br />
(for sport horses) has been completed at<br />
the latest two weeks prior to the auction.<br />

Terms and conditions<br />
1. Algemeen<br />
1.1 De <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> [danwel Hendrix<br />
Events B.V., zaakdoende onder de naam<br />
<strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>] (hierna zowel afzonderlijk<br />
als gezamenlijk te noemen: DSHS),<br />
organiseert in haar functie van bemiddelaar<br />
tussen verkoper en koper op 20 september<br />
2016 de <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> (hierna<br />
te noemen: de veiling) op de accommodatie<br />
van Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen te<br />
Kronenberg. De veiling zal plaatsvinden onder<br />
toezicht van een notaris.<br />
1.2 Deze veilingvoorwaarden zijn van toepassing<br />
op alle tijdens de veiling gesloten<br />
koopovereenkomsten met betrekking tot via<br />
DSHS aangeboden paarden, alsmede alle<br />
overeenkomsten die daaruit voortvloeien.<br />
1.3 Op deze overeenkomsten en op deze veilingvoorwaarden<br />
is Nederlands recht van toepassing,<br />
met algehele uitsluiting van toepasselijkheid<br />
van het Weens Koopverdrag (CISG).<br />
1.4 Deze voorwaarden worden vóór aanvang<br />
van de veiling bekend gemaakt en zijn in de<br />
veilingcatalogus opgenomen.<br />
2. Verkoop/Veiling<br />
Tijdens de veiling zullen de paarden onder het zadel<br />
voorgesteld worden. De paarden zullen<br />
tijdens de veiling per opbod in Euro’s worden<br />
verkocht, tenzij anders aangegeven, met een minimale<br />
inzet van € 20.000,-. Er wordt geboden in<br />
bedragen van € 1.000,- tot € 50.000,-, vervolgens<br />
in bedragen van € 2.000,- tot € 100.000,- en daarboven<br />
in bedragen van € 5.000,-.<br />
Een potentiële bieder/koper zal aan zijn/haar bod<br />
worden gehouden, totdat een eventueel hoger<br />
bod volgt. Krijgt de koper de afslag door de veilingmeester<br />
toegewezen dan is die betreffende<br />
1. General<br />
1.1 The <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> Foundation<br />
[also known as Hendrix Events BV, trading under<br />
the name <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong>] (hereinafter<br />
individually and collectively referred<br />
to as: DSHS), organises in its function as an<br />
intermediary between sellers and buyers the<br />
<strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Sport</strong> <strong>Horse</strong> <strong>Sales</strong> (hereinafter: the<br />
auction) on the 20th September 2016 on the<br />
property of Equestrian Centre de Peelbergen<br />
in Kronenberg in the Netherlands. The auction<br />
will be held under the supervision of a<br />
notary.<br />
1.2 These auction terms and conditions are applicable<br />
to all sales agreements concluded<br />
during the auction related to the horses offered<br />
via DSHS, as well as any agreements<br />
resulting from that.<br />
1.3 The agreement(s) and terms and conditions<br />
of this auction which are referred to therein<br />
are governed by <strong>Dutch</strong> law. The applicability<br />
of the Vienna <strong>Sales</strong> Convention (CISG) is explicitly<br />
excluded.<br />
1.4 These terms and conditions are to be announced<br />
prior to the start of the auction and<br />
are also included in the auction <strong>catalogue</strong>.<br />
2. Sale/Auction<br />
During the auction horses will be presented under<br />
saddle. The horses will be sold during the<br />
auction by bidding in the Euro currency, unless<br />
otherwise stated, with a minimum starting bid of<br />
€ 20,000.00. Bids are to be made in increments of<br />
€ 1,000.00 at a time up to € 50,000.00, after which<br />
bid increments are to be made in € 2,000.00 at a<br />
time up to € 100,000.00, and above that bid increments<br />
are to be made in € 5,000.00 at a time.<br />
Potential bidders/buyers will be held to their bids<br />

koper verplicht het rekening bedrag te voldoen,<br />
zoals in artikel 3 berekend. In geval van twijfel<br />
betreffende de geldigheid van een afslag, kan het<br />
laatste opbod weer aangenomen worden en zal<br />
het opbieden hervat worden. De notaris beslist<br />
bindend over eventuele geschillen die bij of tijdens<br />
het bieden ontstaan.<br />
3. Afrekening veilingbedrag en -kosten<br />
3.1 Direct na afloop van de veiling dient de koper<br />
zijn/haar betalingsverplichtingen te vervullen<br />
op het veilingbureau. Indien de koper<br />
hieraan niet voldoet, is DSHS gerechtigd de<br />
bieding niet te erkennen en ongeldig te verklaren<br />
en het gekochte paard opnieuw te veilen,<br />
dan wel het gekochte paard toe te wijzen<br />
aan de een na hoogste bieder. De koper is in<br />
dat geval van rechtswege in verzuim en is<br />
gehouden de daardoor veroorzaakte schade<br />
aan DSHS te vergoeden, onverminderd de<br />
overige rechten van DSHS.<br />
3.2 Het rekening bedrag wordt als volgt berekend:<br />

Rekening bedrag exclusief<br />
21% Nederlandse omzetbelasting<br />
Het rekening bedrag is per direct opeisbaar.<br />
Betaling geschiedt per bank, het is niet mogelijk<br />
het rekening bedrag in contanten te<br />
voldoen. Verrekening van eventuele tegenvorderingen<br />
is uitgesloten.<br />
3.3 Het is DSHS toegestaan om informatie in te<br />
winnen omtrent de financiële gegoedheid van<br />
een betreffende bieder/koper en deelname aan<br />
de veiling door en het sluiten van een overeenkomst<br />
met de betreffende bieder/koper afhankelijk<br />
te stellen van de ingewonnen informatie.<br />

awards a bid to a buyer, the relevant buyer is<br />
obliged to pay the amount due as defined in Article<br />
3. In case of doubt concerning the validity of a<br />
bid, the previous bid can be accepted again, after<br />
which bidding can resume. In the event of any<br />
disputes arising with or during the bidding process,<br />
the decision of the notary shall be binding.<br />
3. Settlement of auction amounts<br />
and expenses<br />
3.1 Immediately after completion of the auction<br />
buyers are obliged to settle amounts due in<br />
the auction office. If a buyer should fail to<br />
comply with this obligation, DSHS shall be<br />
entitled not to recognise the offer and to declare<br />
the auction invalidate, after which the<br />
purchased horse will again be made available<br />
for auction or alternatively the purchased<br />
horse is to be allocated to the second highest<br />
bidder. The buyer shall in this event be<br />
considered to be in legal default and shall be<br />
liable to compensate DSHS for any damage<br />
incurred, without prejudice to any other<br />
rights that DSHS may have.<br />
3.2 The amount due shall be calculated<br />
as follows:<br />

Invoice amount is exclusive of 21% <strong>Dutch</strong> VAT<br />
The balance shall become payable immediately.<br />
Payment is to be made by bank transfer<br />
and cash payment of the amount shall not<br />
be accepted. Settlement of any counterclaims<br />
is excluded.<br />
3.3 DSHS is entitled to gather information on the<br />
financial situation of a specific bidder/buyer<br />

3.4 Bij afrekening op het veilingbureau bestaat<br />
de mogelijkheid voor de koper om een verzekering<br />
af te sluiten voor het gekochte paard.<br />
Een dergelijke verzekering wordt niet door<br />
DSHS afgesloten.<br />
4. Veilingpaarden; aansprakelijkheid<br />
4.1 De aangeboden paarden in de veiling zijn geïdentificeerd<br />
op afstamming, geslacht, kleur<br />
en geboortejaar, zoals deze in de catalogus<br />
zijn aangegeven. DSHS sluit aansprakelijkheid<br />
uit met betrekking tot de gezondheidstoestand,<br />
de prestaties en/of gebruiksdoeleinden<br />
van de te veilen paarden.<br />
4.2 DSHS is niet aansprakelijk voor schade aan<br />
personen of zaken, ontstaan voorafgaand<br />
aan, ten tijde van en na de veiling, behoudens<br />
indien deze schade het gevolg is van opzet<br />
of bewuste roekeloosheid van DSHS of haar<br />
leidinggevende ondergeschikten.<br />
4.3 De paarden die via de veiling verkocht zullen<br />
worden zijn ten laatste 3 maanden voorafgaande<br />
aan de veiling röntgenologisch in<br />
orde bevonden. Een gebruikelijke klinische<br />
(sportpaarden-)keuring heeft ten laatste<br />
twee weken vóór de veiling plaatsgevonden.<br />
4.4 De veterinaire bevindingen kunnen voorafgaande<br />
aan de veiling op verzoek van de potentiële<br />
koper worden ingezien en toegelicht<br />
door veilingdierenarts E. Enzerink, of zijn<br />
plaatsvervanger.<br />
5. Afgifte, risico- en eigendomsoverdracht<br />
5.1 Direct na de gunning van een paard gaat het<br />
risico met betrekking tot het gekochte paard<br />
over op de koper en zijn alle verantwoordelijkheden<br />
en aansprakelijkheden, alsmede<br />
alle risicofactoren overgedragen aan de<br />

3.4 During settlement at the auction office, buyers<br />

4. Auction <strong>Horse</strong>s; liability<br />
4.1 The horses offered in the auction are identified<br />
by origin, sex, colour and year of birth, as<br />
stated in the <strong>catalogue</strong>. DSHS excludes liability<br />
with regard to health status, the performance<br />
and/or purpose of use of the horses<br />
to be auctioned.<br />
4.2 DSHS cannot be held liable for damage to<br />
persons or property arising prior to, during or<br />
after the auction, except if such damage is<br />
caused by intent or deliberate recklessness<br />
on the part of DSHS or its subordinates.<br />
4.3 The horses sold through the auction have<br />
been found to be in good condition following<br />

5. Release and transfer of risk and ownership<br />
5.1 Immediately after a bid on a horse has been<br />
accepted, any risks related to the purchased<br />

etreffende koper. De koper zal DSHS vrijwaren<br />
voor alle aanspraken van derden ter<br />
zake.<br />
5.2 De eigendom van het gekochte paard gaat<br />
op de koper over op het moment van afname<br />
als bedoeld in artikel 5.3 van deze voorwaarden,<br />
doch niet eerder dan nadat koper de volledige<br />
koopsom en eventuele op grond van<br />
niet-nakoming verschuldigde bedragen aan<br />
DSHS zal hebben voldaan.<br />
5.3 De koper is verplicht het gekochte paard af te<br />
nemen op de door DSHS vastgestelde plaats<br />
en tijd en bij gebreke daarvan binnen de daarvoor<br />
in de veilingcatalogus gestelde termijn,<br />
indien DSHS daarom verzoekt op vertoon<br />
van een deugdelijk legitimatiebewijs. De levering<br />
van het gekochte paard vindt plaats<br />
door de afname. De afname bestaat uit het<br />
door de koper ophalen van het gekochte<br />
paard. De afname kan eerst plaatsvinden nadat<br />
de volledige koopsom en het overigens<br />
verschuldigde door de koper is voldaan.<br />
Indien de koper de afname weigert of nalatig<br />
is met het verstrekken van informatie of<br />
instructies noodzakelijk voor de afname zal<br />
het gekochte paard door DSHS worden weggehaald<br />
en worden gestald voor rekening en<br />
risico van de koper. De koper is in dat geval<br />
verplicht alle aanvullende kosten, waaronder<br />
in ieder geval de stallingskosten, aan DSHS<br />
te vergoeden.<br />
6. Tekortkomingen<br />
(waaronder stalondeugden)<br />
6.1 Indien een koper van oordeel is dat het gekochte<br />
paard na feitelijke levering niet aan<br />
de overeenkomst beantwoordt, kan de koper<br />
hierop geen beroep meer doen indien hij niet<br />
binnen drie weken na ontdekking de verkohorse<br />

buyer. The buyer shall indemnify DSHS from<br />
any claims brought by third parties.<br />
5.2 Ownership of the purchased horse passes<br />
to the buyer at the time of release as defined<br />
in Article 5.3 of these terms and conditions,<br />
but not before the buyer has settled the full<br />
purchase amount and any other amounts due<br />
to DSHS resulting from non-compliance.<br />
5.3 The buyer is obliged to take possession of<br />
the purchased horse at the place and time as<br />
specified by DSHS, or in the absence thereof,<br />
within the term defined in the auction <strong>catalogue</strong><br />
and upon presentation of a valid identity<br />
document, if requested by DSHS. Delivery of<br />
the purchased horse takes place by means<br />
of its release. Release consists of collection<br />
of the purchased horse by the buyer. Release<br />
may only take place after settlement of the<br />
purchase price in full and any other amount<br />
due by the buyer. If the buyer should refuse<br />
release or if he/she should fail to provide information<br />
or instructions required for the release,<br />
DSHS shall remove the purchased horse and<br />
keep it in stables at the expense and risk of<br />
the buyer. The buyer shall then be obliged to<br />
compensate DSHS for any additional costs<br />
incurred, including stabling costs in any event.<br />
6. Shortcomings (including stable vices)<br />
6.1 If a buyer finds that the horse purchased<br />
does not conform to the contract description<br />
after actual delivery, the buyer shall not<br />
be entitled to any recourse if the seller has<br />
not been informed thereof by registered letter<br />
within three weeks after the discovery<br />
(with a copy to DSHS).<br />

per (met kopie aan DSHS) daarvan in kennis<br />
heeft gesteld per aangetekende brief.<br />
6.2 Verkoper staat ervoor in dat het door de koper<br />
gekochte paard, tenzij voorafgaand aan<br />
de verkoop meegedeeld, niet lijdt aan de stalgebreken<br />
luchtzuigen, systematisch weven<br />
of kribbebijten en wel gedurende een periode<br />
van 2x 24 uur na feitelijke aflevering aan de<br />
koper.<br />
6.3 Indien een dierenarts, geregistreerd als keuringsdierenarts<br />
voor paarden of paardendierenarts,<br />
schriftelijk meedeelt dat één van de<br />
in artikel 6.2 genoemde stalgebreken naar<br />
zijn deskundig oordeel bestond vóór de datum<br />
feitelijke aflevering, heeft de koper het<br />
recht de koopovereenkomst te ontbinden<br />
met alle daaraan verbonden gevolgen.<br />
7. Geschillen<br />
7.1 Alle geschillen - daaronder begrepen die, welke<br />
slechts door één der partijen als zodanig<br />
worden beschouwd - welke naar aanleiding<br />
van de koopovereenkomst gesloten op de<br />
veiling danwel naar aanleiding van deze veilingvoorwaarden<br />
met DSHS ontstaan, worden<br />
beslecht door NAI-arbitrage (Nederlands<br />
Arbitrage Instituut te Rotterdam), danwel in<br />
het geval de koper consument is, op diens<br />
verzoek overeenkomstig het Burgerlijk<br />
Wetboek, door de gewone burgerlijke rechter,<br />
in welk geval in eerste aanleg uitsluitend de<br />
Rechtbank Limburg bevoegd is.<br />
7.2 Indien de verkoper of DSHS een procedure<br />
aanhangig wil maken, zal zij indien de koper<br />
consument is, hem/haar gedurende een<br />
maand in de gelegenheid stellen schriftelijk<br />
zijn/haar keuze als bedoeld in artikel 7.1<br />
hiervoor, kenbaar te maken. In geval van een<br />

actual delivery, the buyer shall be entitled to<br />
terminate the purchase agreement with all<br />
resulting consequences.<br />
7. Disputes<br />
7.1 Any disputes with DSHS - including those<br />
that are considered as such by only one party<br />
- resulting from the purchase agreement<br />
concluded at the auction or following from<br />
these auction terms and conditions, shall be<br />
settled by NAI Arbitration (<strong>Dutch</strong> Arbitration<br />
Institute in Rotterdam), or if the buyer is<br />
a consumer as defined in the <strong>Dutch</strong> Civil<br />
Code, in an ordinary civil court upon his/her<br />
request, in which case only the Court of First<br />
Instance in Limburg shall be entitled to rule<br />
on the matter.<br />
7.2 If the seller or DSHS intends to file proceedings<br />
and if the buyer is considered to be<br />
a consumer, he/she shall be given the opportunity<br />
to announce its decision pertaining to<br />
Paragraph 7.1 in writing within a period of<br />
one month. In the event of an urgent matter<br />
(summary procedure), the seller (casu quo<br />
DSHS) may decide to shorten that period to<br />
five business days.<br />

spoedeisend belang (kort geding) kan de verkoper<br />
(casu quo DSHS) de termijn bekorten<br />
tot vijf werkdagen.<br />
7.3 Steeds zal DSHS, ingeval sprake is van een<br />
blijvend geschil, op eigen titel bemiddeling<br />
tussen koper en verkoper initiëren (mediation)<br />
al dan niet, naar haar keuze, op haar<br />
kosten. Gekozen kan worden een dergelijke<br />
mediation te laten plaatsvinden overeenkomstig<br />
het NAI-mediationreglement.<br />
7.3 In the event of a continuing dispute, DSHS<br />
may decide to initiate mediation between<br />
the buyer and the seller, at its own expenses<br />
and of its own free will. Mediation may be undertaken<br />
in accordance with NAI Mediation<br />
Regulations.<br />
