EXT. URBAN CITY STREETS- NIGHT
Setting: Modern day. It’s a fall/winter evening in
Louisville, Kentucky.
Time lapse video: The sun sets early. It’s quickly becomes
dark.
The traffic is heavy on the highway. It’s cold and people
are rushing home. There are only few pedestrians out. Each
one is adorned with many layers to keep warm. There is a
cacophony of sounds. Horns beeping, the muffled music coming
from a car stereo cranked up far too loud, and the distant
clicking of high heels striking the sidewalk. Each step
slightly closer than the last. Cars zoom by on the busy city
streets as LADY, (30’s, heroin chic look with some residual
beauty), walks down the sidewalk. She has a small gym bag
tossed over her shoulder and a cigarette in her trembling
hand. She struts down the sidewalk.
A voice over is heard as she passes through the crosswalks
and down the busy streets.
VO
There goes that lady again. Walking
down the same street as before. Her
eyes glazed with a slight grin. I
wonder what she’s smiling for. Hey,
lady do those heels hurt your feet?
Or can you feel your body at all?
Wont be too much longer lady. Till
you finally fall. At least your
standing now. On a corner.Under a
street light that shines red a
night. You’re such a pretty lady
look at how all the men stare.Or
are you too dazed to even realize
that they are they. You’re such a
lovely lady go ahead and flirt.
Show him your breast and hike up
your skirt. If he tries to touch
you, tell him the price he’ll have
to pay. But, if they knew the cost.
I’m sure he would run away.30 men
in ten days. Hey their faces you’ll
soon forget. Go ahead count your
condoms and smoke your last
cigarette. Don’t you ever want to
go back to the ways things were
before? Or are you happier now,
since you became a whore?

A car pulls up to the curb and comes to a stop a few feet in
front of her. LADY takes a long pull off her cigarette. Then
she takes several quick steps and sticks her head in the
passenger window. The DRIVERS car is blocking traffic. ANGRY
DRIVERS honk their horns. With a grin Lady hops into the
vehicle. And the pair drive off. Traffic resumes as usual.

days of her life. She looks for wool

hands. She is like ships that
trade. She brings her food from far
away. She rises while it is still
night and makes food for all those
in her house. She makes herself
ready with strength, and makes her
arms strong. She sees that what she
has earned is good. Her lamp does
not go out at night. She puts her
hands to the wheel to make cloth.

purple. Her husband is known in the
