He graduated with an MSc inInstrumental Methods of Chemical Analysis and is currently working as a Principal AnalyticalChemist at the Central Science Laboratory, York, UK.He is involved in the planning and delivery of collaborative, research and food surveillance projectsundertaken for Defra (Department for the Environment, Food and Rural Affairs), the EU, and thefood industry. This includes the development and validation of new methodologies for pesticide andveterinary drug residues in accordance with EU guidelines and ISO17025. He is also responsible forcoordinating mass spectrometry activities within CSL and collaborations with industry anduniversities.Mr Fussell has served as a technical expert on various UK and EU groups and is currently theChairman of the UK Pesticides Analytical Advisory Committee (PAC-UK) and the elected UKmember on the Collaborative International Pesticides Analytical Council (CIPAC).3
