13 1 INTRODUÇÃO
Este trabalho teve como propósito geral mostrar o relacionamento de duas áreas um tanto distintas, como a Ciência da Informação e a Música, mas, quando se trata de organização e recuperação de documentos musicais, ou seja, o tratamento informacional de partituras 1 , mostrou-se claramente a necessidade da interdisciplinaridade entre as duas áreas, pois trata-se de um documento especificamente musical gerado em grande escala pela sua área, ocupando um importante papel em todo o contexto musical. Para trabalhar com esta especialidade, primeiramente o bibliotecário deve gostar de música e ter sólidos conhecimentos sobre a história e o repertório dos principais cantores e grupos musicais nacionais e internacionais, além de conhecer os principais estilos musicais. (SILVA, 2005, p. 133). O fato do autor desta obra ter conhecimento nas duas áreas permitiu um foco especial a esse tipo de material, contribuindo com a formação musical dos usuários. Considerou-se importante o papel do profissional da informação especialista em assuntos específicos, tornando-se mais capaz e criterioso na realização das suas funções. “A mais moderna infra–estrutura, porém, não dá vida ao Centro se não houver uma equipe técnica competente para operá-la”. (TESSITORE, 2003, p. 36). A música no Brasil sempre teve uma grande importância para a sociedade, sempre presente em todos períodos históricos. Na concepção de França (1962 apud CARDOSO, 1996, p. 6), “toda a investigação do passado brasileiro, no tempo e no espaço, estabelece não só a presença, mas ainda, não raro, a intensidade das manifestações musicais do nosso povo”. O patrimônio de música ocupa no cenário cultural brasileiro uma área conhecida por alguns interessados, ou seja, alunos e professores de música, pesquisadores e algumas pessoas ligadas a esta arte. Quanto às partituras, que constituem fontes importantes de informação musical e objeto primordial deste estudo, se encontram dispersas e na realidade não se tem notícia de documentos escritos nos XVI e XVII. (CARDOSO, 1996, p.10). Isto nos indicou que muitos documentos não foram salvaguardados durante um grande período, enfatizando a necessidade do tratamento adequado das partituras, contribuindo com sua preservação. 1 Materiais gráficos contendo notações impressas ou manuscritas, que mostram a totalidade das partes de uma composição musical.
