6 Floresta do Curió A Mata Atlântica d Um pulmão da Mata Atlântica em plena Região Metropolitana de Fortaleza (RMF), a começar pelo clima e a vegetação nativa e verdejante entrecortada por pequenos riachos e nascentes. É essa a sensação expressa por quem passeia por uma das três trilhas que cortam os 57,35 hectares da Área de Relevante Interesse Ecológico (ARIE) do Sítio Curió (Floresta do Curió). O espaço foi inaugurado no Dia Mundial e Nacional do Meio Ambiente (5 de junho) e funciona por meio de uma gestão compartilhada entre o Governo do Estado do Ceará, Semace e o Instituto Natureza Viva (INV), mantido pelo Programa Ambiental <strong>Ypióca</strong>. Aberta à visitação pública, essa área territorial, especialmente protegida, é o último enclave de Mata Atlântica na Capital. Criada através do Decreto Estadual nº 28.333, de 28.07.2006, a ARIE do Sítio Curió tem objetivo de preservar a diversidade biológica e o meio ambiente numa área da Região Metropolitana de Fortaleza ainda dotada de valiosa biodiversidade de fl ora e fauna. It is made up of a high massif dense forest with wet forest characteristics in the plane urban region of Fortaleza, providing a micro-climate that is highly signifi cant to the region, serving the thermal comfort zone. The fauna and fl ora of Curió Forest were catalogued by the team of Prof. Luiz Gonzaga Sales Jr., of the Universidade Estadual do Ceará.
