ABSTRACT<br />
In the area of the Sedimentary Basin of North Recôncavo is inserted into the second<br />
largest aquifer in Bahia, the aquifer San Sebastian, owner of freshwater quality and<br />
flow. The area of the Industrial Pole of Camaçari, the main petrochemical complex in<br />
the state, is deployed on this aquifer. This work is a hydrochemical study of the total<br />
iron in the Industrial Pole of Camaçari - Bahia where it was observed that the content<br />
of that element in groundwater in the aquifer system are St. Sebastian, in some<br />
points, higher than recommended by the Ordinance 2914/2011 the Ministry of Health<br />
with the aim of determining the presence of total iron in these waters, we sought <strong>da</strong>ta<br />
from chemical analysis to determine their quality, speciation and saturation index. We<br />
also sought to establish their origin as a function of rock storage facilities (aquifer)<br />
that comprise the San Sebastian formation.<br />
