ABSTRACT
In the area of the Sedimentary Basin of North Recôncavo is inserted into the second
largest aquifer in Bahia, the aquifer San Sebastian, owner of freshwater quality and
flow. The area of the Industrial Pole of Camaçari, the main petrochemical complex in
the state, is deployed on this aquifer. This work is a hydrochemical study of the total
iron in the Industrial Pole of Camaçari - Bahia where it was observed that the content
of that element in groundwater in the aquifer system are St. Sebastian, in some
points, higher than recommended by the Ordinance 2914/2011 the Ministry of Health
with the aim of determining the presence of total iron in these waters, we sought data
from chemical analysis to determine their quality, speciation and saturation index. We
also sought to establish their origin as a function of rock storage facilities (aquifer)
that comprise the San Sebastian formation.
