1909 - Quando Emil Benkiser regista a 

Benkiser & Cie. GmbH é considerado um 

técnico excelente; pouco tempo depois 

aparece uma brochura da Benkiser com 

nada menos do que 110 tipos diferentes 

de torneiras que, além do mais, apresentavam-se 

com 6 diâmetros diferentes. 

1909 - When Emil Benkiser registers 

Benkiser & Cie. GmbH in the Strasbourg 

Company Registry he is seen as a technical 

brain: a little later a Benkiser brochure 

appears with no less than 110 types of 

tap and, what is more, they come

fronteiriças, a Benkiser desloca a sua produção para uma nova fábrica em 

Burglengenfeld /Bavaria.

moves its production to a new factory in Burglengenfeld / Bavaria.

1975 - O reino da Pérsia torna-se 

o mais importante mercado de

A distinguished Project 

Mecca 

2012 - 2015 

Meca, localizada a oeste da Arábia Saudita, é o lugar de nascimento de Maomé e o 

lugar mais sagrado da cidade dos Muçulmanos. Todos os anos cerca de 2,5 milhões 

de Muçulmanos vão em peregrinação a este lugar sagrado para celebrar o Hadj, onde 

uma enorme infraestrutura de água potável e alojamento tem que ser providenciada. 

Em consonância com uma modernização considerável das instalações sanitárias para 

os peregrinos, o modelo 890 da Benkiser foi o eleito para o efeito. 

Mecca located in the west of Saudi-Arabia is the place of birth of Mohammed and the holiest 

town of the Muslims. Every year about 2.5 millions of Muslims go on their pilgrimage to this 

holy place to celebrate the Hadj, whereupon an enormous infrastructure for potable water and 

accommodation facilities must be provided. In line with a considerable modernization of the 

sanitary facilities for the pilgrims, the Benkiser WC fl ush-valve Mod. 890 was elected. 

Uma grande quantidade de fluxómetros modelo 890 foram enviadas para Mecca 

entre 2012-2015 e instalados nas casas de banho pública. O modelo 890 da Benkiser 

apresenta uma construção muito resistente / robusta. Considerando a situação na região 

da Arábia, o mod. 890 garante um rendimento máximo de 6 litros mesmo a baixa 

pressão (menos de 1 bar). Isto é a qualidade Benkiser “Fabricado na Alemanha”. 

A total of 39000 units of the Benkiser WC fl ush-valve Mod. 890 were shipped to Mecca 

in 2012/2013 and installed in the public sanitary facilities. The Mod. 890 of Benkiser 

features a very sturdy construction. Regarding the situation in the Arabic region the 

Mod. 890 guarantees a full performance of 6 litres also at very low pressure less 

than 1 bar. This is Benkiser quality ”Made in Germany” !. 

Este projecto foi realizado em conjunto com a empresa Han-Sanitär Comercio GmbH & 

Co. KG, de Hamburgo, especialistas em exportação da técnica sanitária para os países 

do Médio Oriente. Houve uma intensa actividade na produção Benkiser: todos os 

esforços foram activados, nos acabamentos, polimentos e montagem. Uma equipa de 

trabalhadores Benkiser pousa orgulhosamente na frente de um contentor carregado 

com o modelo 890 com destino a Meca. 

This project was realized together with the company Han-Sanitär Trade GmbH & Co. KG from 

Hamburg, export specialist for sanitary technique for countries of the Middle East. There was an 

intense activity in the Benkiser production: In the machining, grinding and in the assembly all 

forces were activated. A part of Benkiser workforce poses proudly in front of a container with a 

part of Mod. 890 which leaves for Mecca.
