PALM

BEACH BREAKERS

Competing in the UPSL,

“The Breakers” to provide

them a unique variety of kits and

a crest that pays homage to their

South Florida background.

ALLENTOWN UNITED

“Royalty and Elegance for The People’s Club”

A true community club, Allentown

was established by Emmanuel

Ntow-Mensah to help local

players each their highest

potential. The club strives

to create role models in

their community and bring people

from all parts of life together.

ROYALT Y

Hailing from the Queen City, Allentown

United came to Icarus wanting a kit that

depicted their identity of royalty and elegance.

With this in mind, we set about designing

a pair of kits that were striking yet

tasteful. The Home Kit uses the royal blue

and gold color scheme found on the Allentown

city flag and club crest, alongside

a hoop that extends to the sleeves as well.

Crest draws upon royal inspiration

with the crown and

wreath, while the club colors

are inspired by the city flag.

The intertwined letters nod

to the city’s togetherness.

ELEGANCE

The Away Kit goes beyond just

inverting the color scheme,

with the club’s signature gold

hoop only appearing when jersey

and shorts are worn together.

PHILADELPHIA

LONE STARS FC

Philadelphia Lone Star FC was founded in 2001

by Bobby Ali, a Liberian immigrant who fled

civil war in his home country. What began as a

team of just 13 young Liberian players has grown

into one of Philadelphia’s biggest soccer teams

that competes in USL 2, NPSL, UPSL and WPSL.

When they came to us, we set about designing a set

of kits that paid homage to the club’s Liberian heritage

as well as our shared home — Philadelphia.

Crest thematically combines

elements of Liberian flag and

city of Philadelphia through

symbol and color.

MAYAH #4

The Liberty Bell adorns

the shoulders of the home

shirt, while the ‘Lone Star’

—the nickname of the

Liberia National Team—

decorates the rest of the kit.

The shoulders of the away

shirt contain a speckled pattern

that’s drawn from the

national colours of Liberia,

while the Lone Star subtly

ornaments the rest of the kit.

Our favourite of the bunch —

the third kit incorporates the

same sleeve design as the away

kit but gives more space to the

Liberian-inspired pattern that

textures the shirt and shorts.

KINGDOM

OF KUSH

a

Home Jersey for the The

Kingdom of Kush National

Team. The Kingdom existed between

785 BC and 350 AD located

in what is today Sudan. Inspiration

for the design comes from

the 1994 Nigeria kits and

Kushite art that depicts the

Kushites as wearing animal cloak

and earthtone-patterned fabrics.

PROVIDENCE

FC

Based in Rhode Island,

Providence FC is a recently

founded 7-a-side team whose

creator and friends have a

Portuguese background. The

away kit pays direct homage to

the symbolic Galo de Barcelos.

The home kit—one our favorites

—conceptually plays with

historic Portuguese tin-glazed

ceramic “Azulejo” tilework.

FALL RIVER

MARKSMEN FC

REVIVING THE AMERICAN MENACE OF THE 1920S

FALL River Marksmen FC

was originally founded in

1922 during the Golden Era

of US soccer, when teams averaged

tens of thousands of

fans per game and rivalled the

best teams in the world. The

Marksmen dominated this period

of the game, winning six

American Soccer League (ASL)

championships alongside four

National Challenge Cups

(now known as the U.S.

Open Cup). In 1930t hey even

toured Central Europe to compete

against some of the thenbest

sides in the world, such as

SK Slavia Praha and Ferencváros.

Unfortunately, due to the economic

difficulties of the 30s, the

club had to close down.

But in 2019 the club was revived,

and Icarus was fortunate enough to

have the opportunity to design their

first new kits in almost a century.

CARLOS MONTEIRO #5

How do you honor the history

of a club that’s playing

its first season since 1931?

With a lace collar, of course.
