of a LOVE STORY<br />
King Augustus III (1696-1763) wanted to surprise his consort<br />
Maria Josepha with a particularly special gift. Thus it was that,<br />
at his monarch’s behest, MEISSEN ® master modeller<br />
Johann Joachim Kaendler (1706-1775) created the first tableware<br />
service with the famous “Snowball Blossoms” in 1739. Almost<br />
300 years on, the royal blossoms now lend a mesmerising touch<br />
to today’s modern princesses and queens in the form of intricately<br />
elegant items of jewellery.<br />

The Albrechtsburg in Meissen set trends in building back<br />
in the mists of time and its outstanding architectural credentials<br />
have been marvelled at ever since. Germany’s oldest castle<br />
subsequently served as the Manufactory’s first production premises.<br />
Our “Royal Palace” collection takes the vintage floor mosaics in<br />
the Albrechtsburg as its prototype – and turns them into modern,<br />
geometrically clean-lined jewellery for Him and Her.<br />

They are surely the oldest and most famous trademark in<br />

RE-INTERPRETED<br />
Superb models of animals were produced from very early on<br />
at the MEISSEN ® Manufactory by its Master Modeller Johann<br />
Joachim Kaendler (1706−1775). To help him recreate animals as<br />
authentically as possible in porcelain, he studied them in animal<br />
sanctuaries, zoological collections and natural history displays.<br />
MEISSEN ® Joaillerie is now presenting an exclusive selection<br />
of animal works of art in the form of unique porcelain pendants<br />
in its “Figurine Art Collection”.<br />
