Aloha Airlines Flight 243 (aq 243) was flying from Hilo, Hawaii, to Honolulu on April 28, 1988, when a Boeing 737
model aircraft was flying at cruising altitude, a 35 m2 portion of the passenger cabin was detached from the aircraft and the
aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing at Kahului Airport on Maui Island. Out of a total of 95 passengers and 6
crew members on board the plane, only 1 cabin attendant jumped out of the cabin during the explosion.
