INCOME STATEMENTIn the first half of <strong>2012</strong> the Bank’s revenues decreased by € 0.9 million YoY (-2.1 %) mainly due tolower interest income and because of the € 0.4 million impact of the bank levy expense, which was notin effect in the first half of 2011.The net interest income and dividends decreased YoY from € 32.2 million to € 30.2 million (by -6.4%). Regular net interest income dropped mainly because of increased refinancing costs.The non-interest income increased YoY by € 0.6 million (by +4.6 %), driven by improvements intrading activities vs. previous half year.Operating costs and depreciation amounted to €21.0 million which represents YoY increase of € 1.2million (by +5.8 %). The increase is a result of new employments and investments due to intensivebranch expansion initiatives conducted last year.As a result of all factors mentioned above, the Bank’s operating profit amounted to € 20.4 million,representing a decrease of € 2.0 million (-9.1 %) YoY.The Bank is following a conservative risk management approach and built until end of H1 <strong>2012</strong> loanimpairments of € 13.1 million, which is 2.0 % less than in the same period of the previous year.Result before taxes decreased by € 2,9 million (-30.2 %) YoY and amounted to € 6,7 million.ABOUT UNICREDIT<strong>UniCredit</strong> group is a leading European commercial bank with strong roots in 22 countries.
