EXPORTING VEGETABLES SYMPOSIUM HAS BEEN DEVELOPED TO ASSIST AUSTRALIAN<br />
VEGETABLE GROWERS IN SUPPLYING FRESH, CLEAN AND SAFE PRODUCE TO THE<br />
WORLD. THE PROGRAM INCLUDES WORLD-CLASS SPEAKERS WHO WILL PROVIDE<br />
PRACTICAL ADVICE FOR GROWERS.<br />
On Sunday 26 June at RACV<br />
Royal Pines, AUSVEG, in<br />
conjunction with Horticulture<br />
Innovation Australia Limited,<br />
will host the 2016 Practicalities<br />
for Exporting Vegetables<br />
Symposium. The program<br />
includes speakers from across<br />
the export supply chain,<br />
representatives from Austrade<br />
and the Federal Government,<br />
as well as vegetable growers<br />
who will share their experiences<br />
of the export process. The<br />
presentations are designed<br />
to give a practical overview<br />
of the export process, while<br />
also providing insights into<br />
the demand for Australian<br />
<strong>vegetables</strong> in export markets.<br />
Stellar speaker line-up<br />
Craig Ford is the Tradestart<br />
Export Adviser representing<br />
both the City of Gold Coast and<br />
Austrade, and works with more<br />
than 250 exporters on the Gold<br />
Coast, helping businesses to<br />
develop their export operations<br />
through identifying export<br />
markets, assisting in market<br />
entry and partner selection and<br />
expanding the export market.<br />
Mr Ford will use his expertise<br />
to deliver a presentation on<br />
Austrade’s Tradestart service.<br />
Peter Barnard is a highly<br />
respected policy strategist,<br />
international public speaker and<br />
thought leader who has devoted<br />
30 years to the agricultural<br />
industry. Mr Barnard is the<br />
Managing Director of Oliver<br />
and Doam, an independent<br />
consultancy firm that provides<br />
strategic, economic and policy<br />
advice to the agricultural sector.<br />
Mr Barnard will discuss the<br />
challenges facing new market<br />
development.<br />
Dianne Tipping is the Chair of<br />
the Export Council of Australia<br />
and its Education Committee,<br />
and has enjoyed a long and<br />
varied career in international<br />
trade promotion and facilitation.<br />
Ms Tipping has spent over<br />
35 years handling export<br />
transactions, and during the<br />
past 20 years has worked<br />
with the Australian Institute of<br />
Export and various other nongovernment<br />
and government<br />
agencies to teach and<br />
encourage exporters to achieve<br />
their global ambitions.<br />
Karina Keast is the Director<br />
of the Authorised Officer<br />
Programme within the Plant<br />
Exports Operations branch<br />
at the Federal Department<br />
of Agriculture and Water<br />
Resources. Ms Keast has held<br />
a number of roles within the<br />
Department since 2001 and will<br />
discuss organising authorised<br />
officers for businesses and how<br />
to register your establishment<br />
for export.<br />
Mark Mackay has extensive<br />
experience in business strategy<br />
and marketing communications,<br />
and has worked in some of<br />
the world’s leading creative<br />
agencies including Saatchi<br />
and Saatchi London, Young<br />
and Rubicam, the Campaign<br />
Palace and George Patterson<br />
Y&R. Mr Mackay’s presentation<br />
will explore the business<br />
considerations for the branding<br />
and packaging of fresh food in<br />
international markets.<br />
Glenn Robertson is the<br />
Queensland General Manager<br />
of Steritech, a world leader<br />
in decontamination and<br />
sterilisation for almost 40 years.<br />
Mr Robertson will discuss the<br />
treatment options available to<br />
prepare fresh <strong>vegetables</strong> for<br />
export.<br />
